Feeling Bummed

Post by Lori05 »

Hi Ladies....I've been hiding for a few months taking a break from everything. Well, we decided to use the remaining 3 embryos this month. I'm suppose to transfer tomorrow. The lab called this morning with an update....2 embryos survived the thaw, and they are very fragmented. So far they are graded at C and D.....Transfer is still on providing they keep dividing. I'm feeling really bummed out since this is our last chance due to financial issues....Any success stories with poor quality embryos to keep me positive!?!?

Hi, How are you?

Sorry that you seem to have had not so brilliant news... but things are not over yet...

I haven't been in the same position as you, but I over stimulated and out of over 45 follies, I got 12 eggs.... 10 fertilised... and the clinic decided that as they were all at similar stages, they would leave them a day extra to see which would be the best ones to put back...

The day after when we went to collect our bubbies, they told us that 8 had slowed down and were only at 3-5 cells each and not even good enough to freeze... we only had 2 embies left and thought that due to financial issues we also would be faced by an even longer wait if we had to try another cycle...

They ended up putting a 7 and an 8 cell embie back, (not sure what grade though) and as I was so tired and bloated I ended up being signed off sick from work for 9 weeks... But it was the best thing that I did, as I am now 23 wks pregnant with twins. :D

I know that it's nothing like what you are going through, but out of all our 10 babies, we were left with only two, and as much as I prayed that they would get stuck in and hold on for dear life, I knew that there was no guarantee that they would stick when all the others didn't make it.
I do believe however that they were meant to be here, and that there was a reason that my precious babies were picked out from all of the others.

I don't suppose that helped you at all! :? but I do wish you all the best with the rest of your cycle. My twins must be so sick of me by now... They must be bored of hearing me talking to them like a nutter, but I speak to them everyday - from the moment they got put back, and I feel so blessed to be in the position that I am in, especially as I was told that I might not ever have children...

So I just wanted to wish you all the best.

Take Care.
