Anyone 44 years & succeeded w/ IVF?

Post by runutsbc »

I'm 44 and 8 months and failed 4 IUI and just failed first IVF. Has anyone in my age range succeeded? I need hope right now........

Actually, did well w/ cycle. Retrieved 6 eggs of which 4 fertilized and was transferred. Please share experience as I'm scared.
thanks and best wishes to everyone TTC.

Hi! I am new to this site I am from the US and I just saw your note. I am 44 and a half. When I was 42 I had gone through 3 failed IUI's and then 1 (successful) ivf cycle...I have a gorgeous daughter named Ava.

In December my husband and I tried for a second time with ivf to concieve but it failed miserably. The embryos were below average.

I just finished my third ivf cycle. This time around my doc recommended that I do a co-culture. They removed 4 eggs of which 3 fertilized and this time the embryos were above average. I had my et on March 7th and on Friday the 17th I had my pregnancy test...The results were strange to say the least. First of all the girl who called me with the results had the strongest Irish accent I've ever encountered. At first I thought she was joking since Friday was St. Paddy's day....she told me that my beta was 10. When I asked her to elaborate she told me that anything above a 5 was showing that I MIGHT be pregnant. She also told me that they (doctors) were looking for 50 as a beta.

In a nutshell they are "keeping an eye" on me. I had to go for a repeat blood test yesterday (Sunday) This time my level was upto 30...and now I have to go tomorrow yet again....Sorry if I am boring you with the details, but I haven't lost faith so neither should you!!!
