Hi George

Yes I felt this way on both of my egg retrievals. It was actually painful to go to the washroom for about 2 days after and I was taking extra strength tylenol every 4 hours. It helped.

The wait is unbearable and yet everyone seems to bear it. I am now 11dpt3dt and made it over a big hurdle yesterday. On the previous cycles I never made it past 14 days after hcg trigger and so am now breathing a little easier although BETA is not till tuesday so still have fingers toes and everything else crossed.

Its best to remember to take it easy. I came back to work the day after transfer (it was on a Sunday and I came in on the Monday) but as long as your job isn't stressful I found it good to keep my mind off of the wait at least partially. Indulge yourself, go with the rollercoaster not against it so if you need to cry - cry if you need to stay home stay home. The drugs and their syptoms being the same as AF will drive you a bit bonkers but if you need support just post something everyone here will send you sticky thoughts and pixie dust :)

Abbreviations

Post by rdiehl »

Hi George its probably best to go to the general forum and look at the list. You'll see its right near the top - look for a posting titled abbreviations. Its a great place to start as there is aquite a list of abbreviations. Here are some to get you started

AF = aunt flow
DH = dearest husband
11dpt2dt = 11 days post transfer on a 3 day transfer (rather than a 5 day blasocyst transfer)
HCG - is the drug to finalize the fertilization of the egg and trigger the final stage to maturity
HPT - home pregnancy test
POAS - pee on a stick (HPT)

I've had many IUI's and am doing my transfer tomorrow
I only had 3 eggs, that are now down to 1 grade C.
I'm remaining hopeful.
I envy those who have 5 or more
