I have been lurking here for a few weeks and finally decided that I would join in with such a fantastic group. I have been trying to understand all the lingo and abbreviations, so I apologize if I sound ridiculous and need to ask what something means. I wanted to inroduce myself...my name is Bella (I'm 43) and have just went to an RE who didn't give me the most encouraging news. But we went forward anyway. My first FSH was 38 and on second visit was given clomid, the FSH went down to 17 then 14. Started taking Menopur injections and schedule an US in a week. The US had an 11cm follie in one ovary and an 12 cm follie in the other. Continuing the menopur injections and had another US Saturday. One follie grew to 18cm while the other stayed the same. I need to stay on the clomid until monday when I go in for my next US. Started taking Femtrace on Saturday as well. Today went in for an US and one follie at 22cm, the other still has not grown. Tonight I get a Ovidrel injection and tomorrow go back for an IUI. I know my age is such a big factor and I'm praying I didn't wait too long for children. I would be devastated. I'm so greatful that there are boards like this to help me understand the process and know that what I'm going through...so many others can honestly relate having gone through this procedure themselves. I appreciate the kindness and knowledge you all bring. Hope I am posting this on the right board? Wishing you all baby wishes, tiny kisses and 10 litle fingers and toes!
There is a great group on the over 40 thread who have al the same fears as you. I would also join the april testing thread as it sounds like you will be implanting and testing this month. I was on a thread with feb testers and it was great for my sanity as everyone was going through the same thing. Goodluck with everything and stay positive!

I love your name! If you look on this forum (general) you will see the "over 40 crowd". I would post on it as they will give you lots of advice and support. Have a read through other threads as you pick up lots of titbits which help. I found the sticky do's and dont's invaluable as well.

THANK YOU! My Dad picked my name, it was not as common when I was younger so I had a love/hate relationship with it. I posted on the other board but I think I'm doing something wrong it seems like it's not updated. I think the last post was in Jan. 2006. I laughed when you said 'Enjoy going mad!' because while I was on the clomid I thought I was a nutcase for sure. Cryed like a baby the entire time so the RE took me off of it early. I felt sorry for my DH, the poor guy didn't know what to do to cheer me up. Tomorrow I go for another IUI and then to accupuncture. This should be very interesting because I hate needles

I had a quick look at your other posts - the insemination forum does'nt get used as much as the general one which is probably why Jan was last post.
Poor you with your response to Clomid.I was lucky and had no real reaction from my drugs (Buserilin and Menopur). Just a few severe haedaches towards end of menopur course. Our DH's do put up with a lot - i think they find it quite hard as there is nothing they can really do to halp and with all men they like to fix your problems so feel quite inadequate!
Good luck tomorrow, talk to those little eggs and give them lots of encouragemnt. Acupunture is highly recommended to help with ivf so have fun. I too HATE NEEDLES but seemingly you hardly feel anything and it is meant to be very relaxing. After giving myself a daily injection and then 2 a day for 6 weeks you soon get over your phobia.
