Using my partners egg

Post by pmw360 »

I am in a lesbian relationship and want to have a child using my partners egg and a donor sample.
A - is this possible?
B - where?
C - will we both have to have IVF?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hi there PMW

Not sure if I can answer all your questions, but I will try.

A) I would imagine that this is possible although there has been some discussion recently on this site as to the shortage of sperm donors in the UK so you may have a bit of a wait in front of you.

B) Where? You should try a few IVF clinics nearby to you, and sound them out. What part of the Country do you live?

C) Your partner will have to be stimulated via hormone injections to produce enough eggs for them to collect. You, as the recipient, will also have to have some drug treatment to prepare you for the embryo transfer, but it won't be as much as your partner will need as the donor. So, yes you will both need treatment, but in different ways.

Good luck with your quest.

Ooops, sorry, just noticed that you are in London. There are a number of good IVF hospitals in London, the Lister, The London Fertility Centre, I think there is one in Hammersmith. I'm sure if you google, you will find plenty to have a look at.
