hi all desparate to hear from anyone who is having promblems with getting paid time of work or who knows anything about rights to get paid when doing IVF as my boss says wont pay me for elective procedures such as IVF he compares it to plastic surgery and says its my choice to do it and is not a needed medical procedure :twisted: really dont understand this :cry: help please anyone who has any advice really need it :!: :!:

i dont know if anyone pays for any type of ivf or iui..

you should post this on the gen forum..

it is all so hard.

Elly,

As unfair as it is, he is legally correct. As it is your choice they are not legally bound to pay you for time off work unless you take it as vacation time. It's not classed as a sickness.

I know it's too late to tell you this now that your boss already knows. You would have been better off lying to them and claiming something else like depression, flu??

I know loads about this as it my area of expertise. Let me know if you need anything else.
