Thanks everyone. Our center has us test 2 times and won't give us the results of the first test (25th), so have to wait until the 27th!!!!! Atleast I did find out they would definitely call (was worried because it was a Saturday). I felt like I was going to start my AF on Monday, now not really feeling anything. It's driving me crazy!!!

Well, had my first beta test today. The nurse told me they would not give me the results until they get the 2nd test on the 27th, but I cheated and was able to call ang get it. It was a 3. I am 13 days post egg retrieval/ovulation and 10 days post transfer. I'm assuming it's probably just the HCG shot going out of my system? Does anyone know of someone having that low of one where I am at with my cycle? I know of someone who had a beta of 8 on their first test and ended up pregnant, but I dont' know how many days post ovulation. I pretty much assume I'm not, but there is still a glimmer of hope until Saturday I guess.

I am very sorry but I cannot help you with the numbers. Sure one of the other ladies will know more.

However, try to stay positive and let's hope that the number has risen for you tomorrow which is the main thing.

Very best of luck for your follow up test on Saturday. Sending you loads of baby dust. :D :D :D :D

Well, found it today it was a BFN for me. We are pretty bummed and not sure what our next step will be. The Dr we went through didn't sound real optomistic from the moment of seeing our eggs, even though this was only our first IVF. So, we are going to meet with him and if he's still pretty negative about going through it again, we are going to go through another program. I just can't see how he can say after only one try that I should give up. I still ended up with one grade one embryo and one grade 2 embryo.

Kelly,

So sorry to read your news. I was waiting to hear from you. It's certainly too early to give up. Like you say, you had 2 good embyos. From what I've been reading one cycle can be so different from the next.

Keep faith and take care

Very sorry to hear you news. I am sure that you are bummed. My first time BFN was now 2 1/2 weeks ago and it does not now dominate my every waking moment but I still feel gutted and sad when it hits me.

Take time to be sad. Take time out to look after yourself. You might want to think about acupuncture. I started after my failed attempt and it can be quite complimentary to ivf & all the meds. You certainly should not give up after just one go. They should know lots about you from cycle 1 so that they make cycle 2 more tailored to you.

Let us know what you decide to do next.
Sending you big hugs.

Dont give up

Post by Juseke »

Dear kelly

I'm new at this game and have been reading avidly all about your results and what people have been saying. Don't give up. The clinic should try and reassure you (if they're any good) every cycle is different, I have one little boy IVF, trying desperately for my 2nd child and I am now on my 4th IVF attempt. I have had 3 unsucessful FET's and each time, the clinic always say to me, come on, better luck next time, and they try a different route each time. In 2004, I only produced 1 embryo, in 2005 I produced 5 grade A embryos and Arpil 2006 only 2 grade A embryos took and were put back in. Every cycle is definately different. Some women have 6 + 7 attempts of IVF. Keep positive and always remember in your heart and in your head why you're doing all of this, and don't loose site of that goal.

Take care
Jussy [/quote]
