No heartbeat at 5 weeks 6 days

I had my first ultrasound today and they could not see the heartbeat. Is this reason for concern, or is it just too early?!?! I am scheduled to go back in 4 days.

Sounds like it is still too early to see things. I few people see them at 6 weeks, but usually 7.5-8 weeks is when you can be sure to see the heartbeat if things are going well. Have faith! Even if you don't see one when you go back in 4 days, that still may not be bad news. It may just take longer. We saw ours at 8 weeks.

thats quite early I think. I think my clinic used to scan at 6 weeks as my sister had one that early a few years ago but when my time came they said it was a 7 week scan. I kind of assumed that is because there is no guarantee they will see a heartbeat at 6 weeks and they make people panick!

I'm sure it will be okay. Let us know how it goes.
