Hi All

Just posting a stupid question really I was wondering if anyone can help.

When I was at the clinic yesterday having ET they said both my eggs was cell 2 and I asked what they was and they said that it means that they are good quality.

Is this right, what are the best cells/grades etc?????

Hope to hear from anyone soon.

Love

Shell.
x
x
x

I would have thought that it ment that the cells had devided twice, which is a good indication that they are developing , sometimes they have devided by 4 when they are put back its just how the embryo goes. the embryo keeps deviding again and again untill it gets to the next stage.
When they grade its normally on how clear the embryo looks and the least defragmentation the better the grade.
But this doesnt neceserally sorry cant spell! Mean thats it isnt a good emby cause Helen G had grade c's put back and now she's having Twins.
Does this help a little?
Trace x

Yep

As traci said really - it is a 2 cell - the first thing they do is divide in 2 cells and then nearly double every 20 hours or so. Sometimes they go from 2 to 4 and sometimes to 3 then 5 - they vary. They are then graded depending on the qualitity and fragmentation - ie if they are smoothly divided or splinter a bit. some grade 1 to 5 some grade a to e and some like mine 1 to 4 - 1 are the best and these are used with 2's - 3's and 4's can't be frozen but 3's can be used on fresh - sometimes a grade 2 can go on to divide well and become a grade 1 and vice versus - it all depends.
Good luck - it sounds fine
Love
Tracey
xxxxx
