I have recently been diagnosed with premature menopause after trying for a baby for the last year. Its been a strange rollercoaster of emotions and i wanted to join this site as it is really nice to not feel alone through this. I have a fabulous supportive husband but its going to be a long journey for us to get pregnant, i only started calling clinics to find out waiting times for donor eggs today and so far it seems the average wait is a year.
If anyone has any advice on how to choose a clinic i would be grateful, i don't know where to start!
Good luck to all of you needing that little extra help to have a baby.
I am glad you found this site as it has really helped me. And I was so sorry to read about your prem menopause... there are so many different reasons why we are struggling to have children. Yet we all share the difficulty in the waiting and waiting and waiting for something to happen. I really really hope you get the help and success you deserve! GOOD LUCK!! I am afraid I cannot help with your question but there have been some threads in the general discussion forum on egg donation i think.
welcome!

Hi SKP, welcome to the site. Sorry to see your story so far. You were asking about donor eggs. I live in London and was told that the waiting list was 18 months. DP and I then decided to go abroad where there is no waiting list. We are paying privately because I am over 40. So if you are willing to pay then you can get started straight away. There are clinics all over Europe. Some of the ladies on the site have gone to Kiev or Barcelona. Another one that has been mentioned is in Cyprus. I'm sorry I don't know much about clinics in the UK.
Come and join us on the general forum .There are lots of ladies there with help, support and advice!
Good luck with your tmt.

thanks for your replies, this site is great for information and support, its really nice to hear from people in the same situation.
I have read a little bit about treatment abroad, it does sound like a good alternative to the long waiting lists here so i think i will look into this, which one did you go to Anna?

I am currently undergoing tmt at the Institute de Marques in Barcelona. (known as IM.) There is another girl on the 'over 40' thread who is in Kiev as we speak!
A quick visit to websites may help you decide.
Good luck
