Rachel,

That's so nice of you. I will still be watching all you July ladies. My bloody AF's going wrong for the last couple of months are throwing me into August.

Good look with your treatment.

hi, hope no one minds if I join this thread for August! I'm new to this site as well as to IVF.
We have unexplained infertility and have been recommended to go straight for IVF treatment. We are having our first counselling session next week where they will pull together my cycle plan and fingers crossed, we should start in August!!!
I'm apprehensive but also excited and not sure what to expect. I'm trying to be positive that 1st attempt will work but my DH is trying to manage expectations.

Hopefully I will have more info by the end of next week!

Ladies,

I'm thrilled to see so many new ladies on the August buddies. We will do well, I am sure of it. I'm really hoping to become a mummy on this one. Hopefully 1 Big Fat Pregnancy and no miscarriages this time and no embryos dying either.

Souris,

This is fate my love. We were together in Feb and again in August. Maybe it's a month for little french mice (you) and little green leprauchans (me)
Hope you're well honey. Keep me updated on whats happening. Are you going to do short cycle again or go for long one. I don't know which one to do. Short one produces less eggs but long one produces manic headaches...mmm...confused..

Hey Lisa!

I really really hope it will be our month. I cant wait to have my appointment to know a bit more about my next cycle.
For me, I had more eggs with short protocol than the long! and it was SO MUCH easier physically and mentally. I wish I could choose and go with the short one again, but I am affraid that my doc is a bit stubborn. She does not even want to up the meds. I had only 5 eggs... Not that it did matter, because all Dh sperm were dead. But this time, it is our last chance to get some ok-ish sperm through TESA, so I want as many eggies as possible! Having some embies to transfer would be great, but having some to freeze would be a dream!

I am still gonna try to convince her... I dont really like her, but changing doc is not possible at that stage, it would be such a hassle! She did not even see me when I got to the hospital for ET. Someone I did not know told me that we had no embies. Actually, he was great. I stayed 1 hour crying in his office and he was lovely with me ( the max time I spent in my doc office is about 15 min, she is always busy and stressed out).

I am trying to be relax, but obviously it doesnt work! I really hope that it is gonna work out for all of us!

Nimble, welcome! Yeah IVF is cary and exciting as the same time. We have had many 1st timer getting pregnant, so finger crossed for you. I it good to be positive about it, but i think no one can help thinking about an eventual bad outcome... Dont hesitate to ask any questions that comes through your mind!

Welcome to all the other august buddies and let's hope for many 2007 babies!

Souris,

I'm pretty sure I'm going on the short cycle again. It is a lot easier and because they know the pattern of my body, they don't make me go in for as many bloods which is great.

I did the long one first time round and I only produced 7 eggs, 4 of which fertilised. They had a problem stimming me after been down regged. Mind you my FSH reading was very high at the beginning, It was 9.8
I did the short one 2nd time at FSH 5.8 and I think I made 13 eggs but only 5 fertilised. Last time FSH was 7.8, I had 9 eggs, only 2 fertilised and both of them died on the day of ET. Obviously the first 2 times I became pregnant, not that it matters when you've miscarried anyway.

This time we have agreed with the clinic to only start if the FSH is lower than 6 and E2 around 180. If it isn't in August, then I will go into September, October or whenever I am happy with the readings. The closer they are to these the more eggs I will make. I like you desperately want to make as many as poss in an effort to freeze some.

Hi Lisa,
I hope your FSH will be good for August... I have seen on your ticker that it will be your last attempt? Can I ask you if it is because of money or because you have decided that it is enough?

French clinics have different standards, my doc was happy with 5 eggs! (although she said it wasnt not many for my age) and I am starting to wonder why I had only a few, can it be because of my ovaries??
I am very envious when I see girls here coming out EC with 15/20 follies!!

Hope you are well
