HELP! Renal Pelvic Dilatation???

Post by Mel_P »

Hi Guys,
Would appreciate any feedback from people who know something about this ...

I had my 20 wk scan the other day and all looked well with bubba apart from "extra fluid in the kidneys". Which sonographer said not to worry about, however when I had a look on the net I came across explainations that this fluid is a common ultrasound marker (or abnormality) called "RPD" which they say is often normal, but can occasionally be an indication of downs.

Of course now a tiny part of me is freaking out. Has anyone else had the same diagnosis? Can you give me any advice on this please?

I guess the good thing about this board is you don't have to worry about being critized for being a worry wart! So just a question for all of you past 20 weeks and with new little bubbas ...

thanks heaps

Mel
