Did you have a "general" or "sedation" and how was it?

Any advice?

Post by Dolphin01 »

:D Hi all,
We are soon to start tx, i am having icsi and i am also egg sharing. Is there any ladies that can give me any advice. I am terribly nervous about the ec, the heavy anesthetic frightens me, is there any chance of not waking up?, anyone ever heard anything bad about it at all?... :?
Well i will leave it there for now but i wish everyone the best of luck and positive thoughts to all...xx
Ruth

Wow I didn't even know there was an option - our clinic just offers general anesthetic for EC. I woke up just fine :0) Take care and good luck with your cycle!!

Hi there,

I was hooked up to an intravenous and if I felt any pain or discomfort I was to tell the nurse and she would give me some pain medication. I asked twice for a little bit. I was awake for the whole thing and I really enjoyed watching and hearing as they collected the eggs. It was uncomfortable - but I wouldn't say painful.
