hi liz bet your glad your getting on with it at last,what drugs have they give you if you dont mind me asking? i never even got offered any would have had them though if it ups your chances might ask if i need to go again allthough ive got a good feeling about this one, my surge was day 11 this time which i thought was early its the first day you test hosp said it works that way sometimes what clinic r u at? how many goes r they going to give you? do you get inseminated on day of surge or day after,my does day of surge some do day after anyway after my second one i can tell you if you relax it does not hurt one bit take care and best of luck dixx ps, test next sat

Hi Diane - feels strange to finally be starting tmt especially as it's private. It was like one minute i was being told that i need IUI/IVF and then 2 weeks after i was sitting in front of the consultant who was asking me if i wanted to start next cycle. I mean it's good that i can get going so quickly - i just haven't really got my head round it yet. I'm going to the BMI Chiltern - they all seem lovely there, the consultant is nice and he was really quick with the old probey scan thing!!! He's recommended 2-3 goes and then we should try IVF if it doesn't work. The injections are Gonal F/Menopur - this is the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and thats all i'm having on the first go. You can also have Clomid to stimulate your follicles and profasi which aids ovulaion. They do the insemination on the day after the surge - i'll try really hard to relax while they do it!! I usually try and float off to some chilled out place while i'm being probed!!!! We have to go through a lot don't we. How are you feeling about everything - you sound really positive, it's good to have everyone to share it all with isn't it? I was going nuts when the site went down! Keep the ++++ vibes going!! i heard it gives you better chance, everytime i have had scans i have had a few follies but only one has turned into an egg they wont treat you otherwise cause of the risk of multi birth did they give you reason as to why you have to have the injection that aids ovulation it also concerns me that a lot of hospitals to insemination the day after surge were mine do it the day of surge if it hasent worked this time im going to phone day after surge and tell them ive only just surged lol am feeling ok apart fromthe fact that everyone gets drugs and i dont lol do you test for your hormones with clearplan? do you ovulate ok as far as you no? take care love dixx

Hi Di, How are you doing today - taking things eassy i hope. The FSH injections are just to raise it a little so we get a really good follie - i don't think they like you to have more than one in IUI. I think the profasi injectoin just kind of brings the ovulation on so they get the timing right but they can do this with the ovulation indication kit (peeing on sticks!) I had blood tests before and they showed that i seem to be ovulatng ok - how about you? Sorry, Di - i don't even know why you are having probs. I've got endo which consultant thinks is stopping me getting pg even though i had it lasered. Went to GP today to see if they would fund drugs - Noooo! We get nothing paid for here! I like your idea of the surge thing - don't know why they do it differently. 8 days to go!!!! - take care of yourself, Much love, Lizzy xxxx

hi liz hope your ok am fine not been doing much feel quite relaxed this time,trying to give up smokeing but its not working,think i might ask doc for something have you had a scan yet at anytime feel ok about not having drugs now spoke to someone who said one follie at 21cms is a good size still going to go to hosp day after surge though, if i have to go again i usally have to go as soon as i surge on my pee stick it was day 11 quite early this time how much does it cost for your drugs are they expensive? you cant get anything of the bloody docs now there terrible there isint anything wrong with me its my dh, no sperm due to failed vasc reversel did you have the hsg test? were they check your tubes? how long have you got till your af is due? do you have to inject yourself or do hosp do it? have to go take care love di

Hi Di, Hope you've had a good Fri - i've been at uni today, got a good mark for my last essay!!! YEY! I think the drugs are to just make sure you get a good follie so if you've got a good one you should be fine. Fingers crossed for you. The drugs are about £100 - not horendous but if it comes to IVF then the drugs are way more and it would really help if they would pay, no chance though. But i'm going to be really poss and hopefully it won't come to that. Has your DH got any kids - sorry if i asked you that before, i've lost track a bit. How does he feel about all the tmt? I had my tubes checked and they were fine so i'm really hoping the IUI works. I think DH will be doing the injecting - OMG. I'm not v good with needles! Hope the giving up smoking is going ok - i gave up 4 years ago but i still crave one every now and again. I was ok as long as i didn't buy any or go near anyone who smoked (most of my friends!) hi lizz well done on your essay dont suppose its a bad price for your drugs compered to ivf still smokeing lol my hubbys got 3 kids your as got 2 has he? my hubby cant wait for me to be pregnant just so i shut up lol ive been naging for 4 years,waitinh for his reversel,and then waiting for results,we could have had icsi but i didnt really want that as there is nothing wrong with me,didnt really fancy going through all that,and its so expensive we could not afford it really have a great weekend love dixxx

Hi Di, Are you having a good saturday? I've been spending loads - i always go mad after i get paid and then spend the rest of the month skint!!! lol DH has 2 kids - 15 and 12 AAAArgh - teenagers! I was nagging DH for ages to start trying as well - we were together 4 years before we did, kind of wish we hadn't wasted all that time but how i guess we weren't to know!!! Have a Fab weekend and bank holiday - it's our anniversary on Tues so i'm going to make sure DH takes me somewhere good! Much love, Lizzy xxx
