No heartbeat

Hello everyone. I started bleeding early yesterday morning and so we went to the ER. The dr checked my cervix and felt around and said everything seems to be fine. He took my beta levels. A week ago the number was 2700 and yesterday it was 15000. They also did an u/s. They saw the sac, but no fetus or heartbeat. I am barely 6 weeks. Is it possible the heart just hasn't started yet? Somebody tell me they've been through this please!! I have to go back for an u/s at the clinic on friday. Thanks

I also had a scan at 6 weeks because I was in a lot of pain and they feared ectopic. It was in the right place but all they could see was a sac. Nothing else. They even told me the sac was only 5 weeks and they thought the baby had stopped growing. I remember my beta was 3172 at that point (which had doubled from the last time). Your numbers sounds great!

I went back a week later to have another scan. That week was awful, longer than the 2ww. I was convinced the baby had died. I was forever squeezing my boobs to make sure they still hurt!

The following week I got up on the bed. Before the probe even got to where it was heading you could see the little heart beat beating away. I cried so much. The baby was where it should be and the size it should be. Everything was great.

I had another scan last Thursday and it's doing nicely, baby is very happy.

There was another lady on here a couple of weeks ago who went through exactly the same as me and has the same happy outcome.

The bleeding I can't comment on but a lot of women do have "periods" during pregnancy. Your numbers sound great and I think it's too early to have detected the heartbeat. I know some ladies do, they're just really lucky!

My heart just jumped into my throat!

I think it is still too early! When I got pregnant with our first IVF they scanned me around 6 weeks and all I had were 2 sacs 1 smaller than the other and dr said she could bring me back the next week but we might still might not see anything or we could wait till the 8th week. We went when I was 7wks2d and saw and heard a wonderful heartbeat!!!

I know it is easier said then done, but take a deep breath and try to relax!

Don't worry too much. I went in for an U/S due to a little bit of bleeding at 6 weeks and there was only a sac. Doc told me to come back in a week for our 7 weeks u/s as we had scheduled and sure enough, we saw a heart beat, and the baby was measured at 6wk5 days. It was brutal having to wait for a wk for the u/s. But hang in there. Everything will work out.

Thank you all so much. I'm sitting here balling my eyes out. This sucks!! But, the dr in the er told me there was a 50% chance this was not a viable pregnancy and as of then, I've had no hope in my heart. You guys have put some back in. I just love all of ya!! Thanks!

Hang in there...it is too early to see the hearbeat..I went in at 5w6d and saw the sac..about 1.5weeks later I saw the heartbeat. Think positive..according to the doc there is 50% chance it is a viable pregnancy.

I agree with all the other girls, it's far too early, Hold in there and think positive, we are all praying that you see a strong heartbeat next time, i'm sure everything is ok...
Rest up and try to relax, i know easier said than done..

Your numbers are great and it is common not to see a heart rate at 6 weeks i have my fingers crossed for you that you get good news on friday.

Please please dont cry. It is wayyyyy tooooo early. Hold onto your faith and just try to stay calm (I know that is easier said than done)

After reading all this I am getting really nervous about my first U/S this thursday 08/17. It will be 30days Post reterival U/S. I was hoping to see the heart beat in this u/s but I guess i will keep fingers crossed and think positive.

My doctor will not even perform an U/S until 7 weeks because any sooner you may not see a heartbeat and he does not want to put stress on the mom!

Thank you all so much for the support. The more I think about it, the more I want to go yell at that dr for making me freak out. I am just staying positive until Friday which will be 7 weeks.
