Hello there...I have been reading so many of these threads (I think that is what everyone is referring to all of the postings just trying to keep up!) and thought I would find out if anyone is having there egg retrival this week. The doctor seems to think that it will happen closer to the weekend, but I am starting to get excited. I started out on this website being a week ago being emotional when I got all of my meds and doing all the shots, but once the u/s started everything started getting exciting. Just wondering how everyone else is doing...

Hi there very excited and hopeful for you too!!
I had 2 full rounds of ivf. My egg retrieval was 7/31st and my transfer was 3days later - the 2week wait (2ww) was torcher you'll come to realize!
DO NOT take a home pg test BEFORE the alotted time they allow I had a false positive then a negative it's better to wait for the blood draw you know that's accurate.
Mine didn't work out as I thought But...BUT I have some frozen so I will start my 1st FET some time in October. VERY HOPEFULL
ALL the best of luck to you and everyone else some are lucky the 1st time
but if not try again because they will learn your hormone levels/body better and can adjust the doses too
I love your positive spirit. I realize going through all of this that being positive is something that makes everything a little easier. I am a pretty easy going positive person, but this process really shook me up. I am back on the positive train again. I am a firm believer that when it is our time it will be our time. It is all out of our hands. You hang in there, b/c your time is coming. Like my sister-in-law always says to me...It's all in God's hands and we are just waiting on line too soon, our perfect baby isn't ready for us yet
Question, when they do the egg retrival I should freeze the eggs that they don't transfer...correct? Then if I have to do another round the next time it won't be as many needles? How does that work? Thanks so much for your positive thoughts and I am keeping you in my prayers!

Thelilrose- You POSITIVELY want to freeze however many you can it depends on the quality though you'll learn. From what I understand if medicated FET they will have me/you do Lupron shots (not the ones to make follicles get big) this is to not let you ovulate. These are the real short thin needles you don't really feel that much-piece of cake compared to the others. Then you go for the transfer when ready and after you would be put on the progestrone shots (to help you hold the pregnancyI was told) - the hard ones in the butt. Now I've heard some woman talking suppositories (progesterone) I'm not familiar with those.
You give me too much credit with the positive thoughts I have my days TRUST me but like you said and I like your quote "were just too early "
Even thru the hard times I KNOW EVENTUALLY THIS HAS TO WORK...right? The good guys/girls always win in the end right???
