Caz

You are perfectly normal - I have 2 step children and very hard seeing them when I am on TMT but can't keep them away - its' not their fault and then had my sister in law and 2 of my staff pg when going thro first IVF and then had ectopic but still went to Mum's 60th birthday and sat next to PG sister in law who I hate anyway. Now found out one of DH's friends at work is having IVF at the moment and thought bugger what if she gets PG and I am on my 4th Treatment. Trouble is you need to try and forget the others - I am always really delighted for bit fat yeses on this site. Why only a slim chance - most of us are prime candidates for IVF - that is what IVF is for - doesn't matter if you have just one manky tube like me or endio or PCOS or low sperm etc etc we all have a chance - try and think positive - after all some people throw the six they want first time even if they don't shake their hand properly.
Good luck
Love
Tracey
xxx

Hi Caz,

My sister in law had a little girl over a year ago (first grandchild), I was devestated I never saw her whilst she was pg (I didn't know her that well)and it took me 4 months to see the baby, I have now visited a few times since but the whole lack of understanding by the in laws has really hurt me, as far as they were concerned I was the bad person because I would not go to family gatherings because all they talked about is there first grandchild. How does the doctor know you friend is a perfect IVF candidate and your not, does IVF not give has all the same chance.
Hang in there hopefully we won't have to go through this for much longer. Good luck
Love Lynne

Thanks SO much guys.
Its the friend at work who is having IVF that I think will be most difficult - because its such a direct comparison. I know its silly, but...
Reason we have been told small chance is, that dh had mumps at 16 and now has no sperm. They found a few doing a biopsy and so to do ICSI they will have to retrieve them surgically. Its possible it might work, ( Because you only need 1 sperm etc etc) but the clinic keeps talking about the donor sperm option to us everytime we see them. Which I understand - but doesnt exactly make you feel optimistic.

I guess its something we'll need to make our minds up on this summer if ICSI doesnt work this June/ July.

Thanks Guys!!

Hi Caz

Sorry your having a bad time, I and everyone on here knows just what you are going through. I've just had a call from my old neighbour (who I was quite close to) I last saw her in August when she said "I'm pregnant but didn't like to ring as I know your having trouble"!! I wanted to punch her lights out! her baby is now 5 months old so why ring now?! Luckily dh answered and said I was out!
Everywhere you go there are pg women or new babies it's a nightmare and the skanky mums are the worse!!!
Try an keep your chin up, like everyone else has said it only takes 1 sperm to do his stuff... Will be keeping everything crossed for you and we might even be cycling together (not sure when you said you were starting but I'm starting first ivf in July)
Good luck and take care
Dawn
xx

Hiya Caz
I'm sort of in the same boat. My sister is due with first grandchild in October - difference is 'even though I know its a bitchy thought', she got pregnant just to spite me. I've kept my ivf from her and as soon as someone let slip then low and behold she 'accidently' got preg. *****! I find it v difficult to talk to her about it - she goes for her first scan 2mrw and I'd like to be happy - doting auntie and all - but I cant. Also my friend at works sister has got pregnant 6 month after just having one! Its hard and I know how you are feeling. I've only been on this site a couple of times and it is comforting (if thats the right word) to hear from people who understand what we are all going through.
Bertiexx
