Egg sharing schemes

Hi Just wondered if anyone has taken part in an egg sharing scheme? Bourne Hall in Cambridge offer this and if I take part I can get my ivf for £550.00 inc the drugs instead of £3250! Whilst I'd love to help someone that hasn't got their own eggs I'm not sure how I'd feel about there possible being a child out there that was partly mine. Does that make sense? The other thing is that if I go ahead and it doesn't work for me I'd always wonder if my eggs had worked for someone else. Any advice would be much appreciated! alls i can say that giving donor eggs is the most amazing gift that any one could ever give. it is the gift of life... alot of people wouldnt have there children with out it.. good luck to you and i hope that this helps. becky

I cant give you any advice , But I think that People Like you are very Special , I am with the Care Clinic and have alot of people on egg sharing ,perhaps you should look on their chat forum. www.care-ivf.com

hi dawn i'm also at bourn and i have already donated my eggs last year, i did not fall pg so often wonder if eggs worked with some one else. i also think i could of helped some one have there dream baby so that is a nice feeling. i tried to donate again but feel went into it to quick after failed tmt and had a poor responce to the tmt only 6 eggs so cycle was stopped. i had another go at icsi and had 13 eggs which i can keep for myself tmt did not work but i have frosties which i'm hoping to put back w/c 2 june. i was under doctor mathews. do you live in area. from july ann

Thanks everyone for your replies July ann I live in Norwich and currently go to the Norfolk Fertility Clinic which is linked to Barts in London. We have unexplained infertility. I've found the nurses in Norwich unhelpful at times and one in particular is well known for not being pleasant! I'm already stressing about ivf as its our first go and they are really unsupportive. I rang Bourne Hall as that is our nearest private clinic and the nurse was really friendly and told me about the egg sharing program. We could manage one go privately but would struggle after that so the egg sharing would be a great help (assuming I get any)! Would you do it again? Are the nurses nice there? I feel really p****d off that I don't want my free go at the clinic because they wind me up so much! Good luck with your next go, I really hope it works for you. Dawn xxx
