Hi Helen,

Been waiting for you to post - felt quite lost without you. I found some cycle buddies (including Tracey - Hi sweetie, keeping my eye on you and have all my fingers crossed) on FF only to find I can't cycle yet :-(

My FSH levels are 'elevated' at 9.7. It was a bit unfortunate that I couldn't talk to anyone I know at MFS until yesterday (one ill/one left/one on holiday/one not on shift/one had car accident - so not their fault) so all felt a bit impersonal when they told me. In the end they left it to us to decide, but advised against it because it may reduce stimulation - which I can't afford as I've only got 5 eggs on maximum dose.

Had a bit of the tears today (also bit stressed at work with nothing to do and too much time to brood!) but feeling I'm coming out of the low now. On Agnus Castus and back doing acupuncture/chinese medicine (evil brew this time - yeukk), but mostly thought to be body still recovering from 2 quick-succession cycles/ectopic, then m/c only 3 months ago, so been told not to panic.

I suppose this may mean we could be close cycle buddies again? Yeah everything has a +ve.

So glad you're back, I've missed you desperately.

Lots of Love

Fiona xxx

Fiona sweetie

So fab to hear from you - yeah my buddy is back. Hasn't it been really weird?

On no what a bummer - have you had elevated FSH before? But listen you have been thorugh such a lot over these past few months, that it is not surprising that your body is reacting this way. I've been on AC and found it did help regulate things, so you never know, back on the eb as well are you - haven't had it myself but have heard it is really yuck!

Keep your chin up girl, I don't want to see any more tears, you have to keep those +ive vibes on the go (ok you can have a bit of a weep now and then, but only when I am here to hold your hand!)

I am so pleased to be able to talk again, we are still waiting for the chromosne results back and have also had a letter from LGI saying that they feel that my frosties are ok and are pretty sure that they didn't mix up the eggs and sperm on my go and will not give me a free cycle to compensate, so me and DH are still mulling that one! Oh the joys of IVF!!

So we may be cycling about Julyish - not fully decided yet, but as long as the blood test results are ok, I'm raring to go!!!

Bummer that I missed you on FF website, I did have a look but can't find my way around that place - its so confusing!

So gld you're back, missed you loads too, keep smiling buddy and talk soon.

Lots of love as always
Helen.
xxxxx

Hi Ladies, can I join you?

Its such a relied that the board is working again - I just couldn't imagine never being able to get in touch with you again! Hadn't thought of going on to FF (although have always been a bit confused by that board!)

Helen, good to hear from you.

Tracey, sorry I've not caught up properly yet - are you 2wwing yet?

Fiona - what a pain about your FSH - I'm sure you're right that its just your body saying, "hang on a sec, I need a bit of a rest!" How are the horrible herbs?!

I had my follow up appointment yesterday, which was as frustrating as ever but have decided that perhaps that's just the nature of the things. Anyway, I've decided to have my dodgy tube taken out, and hope that having done that they'll manage to get some of my frosties to stick! Even before the follow-up I'd provisionally arranged to have the op done on 10 May, which is now confirmed. So only 7 more days of work (hee heee!) Had to tell my boss today - didn't go into detail just said I needed an op and would be off 2-4 weeks, and sorry its bad timing, but he said, of course, your health must come first (what else could he say?!) Then told a female colleague who immediately put together fallopian tubes, fertility, time off previously etc. and I ended up telling her pretty much everything, which I hadn't intended to, but she was absolutely lovely. Don't think I'll tell anyone else at work though beyond that I'm having an operation.

So I'm feeling pretty positive - helped by the fact that DH took me to New York last week to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, which was just fantasitc.

Anyway, I'm hoping that if the op goes smoothly we might be able to try with the frosties in July, so here's hoping I'll have some old friends as cycle buddies (but not you Tracey - nothing personal but I want you well on the other side by then!!)

Apologies for the essay but I'm just so glad to be back in touch! Missed you lots, Love

Alison xxx

Hi Everyone,

You'll have to let me know your FF username so I can send you IM's - there are times when you don't really want everyone to see what you're saying. I could let you know on here if/when I have so you'll only have to check then. Mines the same as here if you want to do this yourself.

Helen - First time for raised FSH :-( - nurse read 5/7/7 from previous tests so a bit of a shock. Must have sent some strong +ve vibes because feeling much better today. Had a work colleague in with her baby (about same age as mine would have been if IVF #1 had worked). Luckily she knows what I've been through, so only came to say a quick 'hello' and I 'escaped' to the training room for an hour and a half - but NO weepies, so that gotta be good heh? I even pulled out an orange (as in FF's positive spot) smartie (well, sometimes you just gotta) and thought "thats gonna be me bringing my twins in this time next year"

Alison - Thats a big decision to go the whole hog with the tube removal - doesn't that mean you'll have none then or was one clipped and the other removed anyway? I'm sure its the right decision - at least you won't be worrying about whether it'll affect it or not and you got all those lovely frosties for bab(ies) #1 and 2# (Cos its gonna work - for us all next time - PMA,PMA .....). I'll be thinking of you when you have your op - and sending you some cyber orange carnations in advance as I always find they last for weeks in lemonade - heehee). The herbs are 'only just' drinkable, but I think I'm quite lucky as I've heard of a lot worse.

Ooooh, I forgot you had frosties too Helen, so if you do decide to do FET in July the three of us could be 2ww at least together. This has got to be an omen as we've been 'almost' cycles buddies for soooooo long now.

Tracey - I agree with Alison, we want you over there and as our pg guru.

Take Care everyone - glad we're all back together.

Lots of Love

Fiona xxx

Hi everyone - Fiona, Alison, hope you are both ok today!

Well it sort of seems like we have never been away does it - the boards are moving fast again! Sorry for not posting earlier, had a few meetings and trying to look after puppy dog who is now so active it's untrue. It took me 2 hours yesterday afternoon to try and get some work done, she was into everything and I mean everything - computer leads the lot! On well, it's giving me good practice for when these babaies come along - notice my PMA and that I have said babies. I've decided on the next lot it's going to be twins, I have a good feeling!

How are you both?

Fiona, gald you are feeling more positive my sweetie, it must have been a shock for you re the fsh, what is your next plan, do you take the ac and eb and then have another blood test in another month? D'you know this game is some malarky. Well done for holding back the tears at work, I know it can be so hard. Went to a meeting yesterday and the receptionist proudly told me she was expecting - so I said well done and all that, then she told me it was a modern medical miracle! There was no way she was meant to get pg, the docs had told her it was never gonna happen and then boom! All the time, I was thinking you lucky thing, then she went on to say what a shock it was and was considering what to do as she had made her mind up to adopt! Crikey, it took a lot of mustering to make the appropriate sympathetic noises!

So, tell me your plans, then I know when to do that hand holding and extra moral support. Yes, we may well be cycle buddies which would be soooooooo great to help each other through. Still not decided on the frosties, need to go discuss with the consultant...

Alison, lovely to hear from you, hope the op goes well and New York - wow! I've always wanted to go there, what was it like? Did you spend and shop 'til you dropped? Fill me in on all the news.

Well sweeties, better go do some work whilst Bliss is asleep otherwsie, I'll never get anything done today!

Much love to you both and hope to speak really soon.

Helen.
xxxxx

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO so exciting to catch up with you all
Fiona are how you - all trials and tribs - I was in and out of FF but find it all a bit much and when I am at work it is all very difficult - especially as people can see the pictures flashing up and I am still sceptical about going on the site at work - keep expecting bells and whistles to go off any minute - with "you are a lazy arse " alert blurting out. Keep at it and with your attitude you will get there and wherever I am I will always be here to help you ok?
Helen - thanks for all the getting to know Nikola again business - how are you and what about changing clinics - are you still going to do that? I have really missed you - I should surge tomorrow so for all intent and purpose will be on for ET next wednesday we think - will keep you posted. They have all said they were really suprised it didn't work last time and I believe they mean it - I mean they have never said it before. Reckon this time is my time but it really is throwing those dice isn't it - you do nothing different and suddenly it just happens.... that's what I reckon.
Have asked to go on to 4 days a week - no wise cracks about uppping it from one day to 4 either any of you "stay at home and watch tv workers!". They have agreed in principal so hope it will happen soon - too late for this one but will be good whatever to do it.
Alison - for what it is worth I reckon you have made the right choice - I wanted both tubes out after ectopic (baby would have been born on sunday!) but they couldn't get out the left tube so clipped it instead. My thoughts are my tubes were useless bits of skin - bit like some of my candidates!!! so no use to me - (the tubes that is).
You can then relax knowing no ectopic of hydrosalpinx (which I have still) problems. I thought I would feel less of a woman but to be honest just glad to get them out.

Glad to be back on this site - missed you all so much - ITS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love
tracey
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi all - thought I'd rescue this one before it dropped off the bottom of the page!

Tracey, do you mind if I ask you a personal question?! Do your hydrosalpinx problems include odd periods? I ask because I have odd spotting/bleeding for up to a week before AF arrives, and I'm wondering whether this is anything to do with the dodgy tube, although it seems a bit unlikely, but am hoping that once they've removed it my cycles may be a bit more normal. I'm still confused about where you're up to - are they putting the frosties back in next week? How long are you off for?

Helen, New York was amazing. Didn't really shop, there was just too much else to see and do. Highlight was probably going to a comedy club in Greenwich Village and Jerry Seinfeld turned up unannounced and did a turn! (No, I've never watched him on TV either, and actually he wasn't as funny as some of the unknowns, but it was still pretty cool!)

Fiona - I love the "that'll be me bringing in twins next year" PMA!! I'll still have one tube as the one they're taking out is the one that was clipped last year (still not entirely sure why if its clipped it'll be better to remove it completely, but am now being obedient!)

Anyway, house tidying calls as we've got friends coming round this evening and its a bit of a tip!

Have a good weekend and speak soon.

Alison x

Hi Everyone,

Well, had a bummer of a weekend, I could see all that lovely weather pass me by - from my sick bed :-(. Been poorly sick with some gastric flu.

Still off work because I haven't eaten anything properly in 4 days now - great for the old diet, but not so good on the energy levels. And everytime I eat I get really bad heartburn. Not sure if it is enough excuse to be off work anymore, but what the hell!

So, thats my news - apart from lots of old films watched and mental gardening done.

Hope everyone else is OK.

Lots of Love

Fiona xxxx
