ivf funding

Post by moggy »

Hello

Does anybody no if you have completed your nhs treatment and it was unsucessful, can you go back on the waiting LONG list or do you have to start funding yourself, as going private is not an option.

Thanks

Hi Moggy,

I'm not too sure but have you heard off egg share scheme? Last egg share IVF/ICSI cost me £1,500 (£500 for IVF, £1000 for ICSI)

As far as I know NHS offers only so many tries and if they do not work I don't think they allow you to keep trying with them (but maybe I'm completely wrong on this!)

IVF funding

Post by emmaobrien »

Hi Moggy
I have also had a recent fail, and our first attempt was on the NHS, we have been told that we have got to pay for our next treatment about £2500 - £3000, so we are saving very hard, i think it depends on certain districts/counties. Check with your clinic they will tell you straight away or ask at your follow up appointment.
Best of luck in the future

Hi,

Just recently (Monday) the law has changed. Here in Northern Ireland couples up to the age of 38 were allowed one go only on NHS funding,on Monday this changed to age 40 and 2 goes.
Also, it changed for women like me - it also states that women who already have children are allowed ONE treatment cycle on the NHS.

(Ive made an appointment to see my GP lol)

I live here in Northern Ireland - im sure that the ruling is different everywhere else, i assume it goes by ur post code (utterly wrong i feel). I think (altho please dont quote me on this) that if u have a failed attempt - i think u go back to the bottom of the list. I would deff check with ur gp in this circumstance it might be different if ur cycle was cancelled.

Where in Wales r u from. I used to live in the South, just outside Swansea. Im comming back this week end for my brothers wedding - if the boats are still sailing (Bloody weather!!)
