New IVF

Post by jo mortimer »

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this site and wondered if anyone out there was in the same position as me.

We have been ttc for 4 years, had 6 x clomid and we have just started our 1st IVF cycle. I have multi-cystic ovaries (not quite PCOS) but no other probs. I don't have a period but the hospital just put this down to me being underweight (I used to suffer from an Eating Disorder).

Anyway we are just going through the first phase of injections and are due to go back to the hospital on the 1st July for a scan. I found it particularly hard to sleep last night because I was worried about the IVF not working, they say to stay relaxed but it is hard at times. I just wondered if there was anyone out there who could give me some advice, or who has, like me, just started their first IVF?

Jo

Hi Jo, I am pretty new to the site as well. We have been ttc for over 4 years, I have had 6 months clomid, 3 IUIs and I have just started sniffing this morning for our first IVF cycle.

It is hard not to get stressed out. I know it is on my mind 100% of the time - I have been very withdrawn and quiet over the last week.

We are in good hands on this site - there are lots of people going through (or been through) the same thing and know exactly how you feel.

Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.

Take care

Dolly

Hi Jo and welcome. There's no getting away from the fact that this is hard but you couldn't be on a better site for assistance and for loads of people going through different experiences but with Positive Mental Attitudes.

Keep at it, go with the flow, try to relax a bit more, try to imagine that it WILL work, not that it won't - there are lots of girls on here that I have been in touch with over the last few months, with a whole range of different problems, who are now pregnant - it can work for you.

Wishing you the best of luck with your first scan and all the following treatment - you now have lots of new "sisters" who will be keen to hear how you go on at every stage!!

Lots of Love - Jo.XXX
