Well that is the part that is just cracking me up! We have been lucky and having good deals all along. So why he is getting so upset over spending $250-$300 over something we have to have and will frankly use every day is driving me crazy! Particularly since he doesn't make a fuss over spending $100 ...

Joke's on me! :-)

Hi guys!

Well, a lot of you know that my husband and I have been going through some "growing pains," getting ready for baby. Thought I'd share another gem with you!
A few days ago we were at Babies R Us looking at the goodies - strollers, car seats, diapers, etc.
Now we have been planning this ...

The problem is he does notice things missing, then we have a huge drama. Just this morning, I was woken up at 0530 (I went to bed at midnight) with DH upset. An old, 1" thick dust-covered 5x7 photo of his mother which had been in the spare bedroom had been moved! Into the office!! And I had tossed ...

I can totally relate to where you both are at!
I think there is some mental / survival mechanism programmed into us, so that after a series of crushing dissapointments we start to feel safer expecting dissapointment than having blind faith that everything will be ...

More stupid problems!! :-P

Anyone else having problems clearing space for the new arrival?
Here is the crazy thing - We have a 3b,3b house in the suburbs with an attached garage, and what should be more than enough space to make room for baby.
Both my husband and I are a little packrat-ish, and hate to throw anything away ...

Hi Guys!
Department stores are being good to me right now! Thought I'd pass along the tips in case anyone else is looking for these things, and maybe return the favor...
I was at the mall, and JCPenny's had clearance onesies and sleepers going for about $2-$4 a piece! (I got a $45 snow suit for $5 ...

I'm going to agree... Since you have already been "suprized," maybe you could nicely let your friend know that the cat got out of the bag by accident, that you are very flattered by her thinking of you, but since the suprize element is gone, can you help with the planning a little?
You didn't ...

I don't know if I have any good advice for getting your mind off of the worry. It will be there in the back of your mind, no matter what!
I have been using the "keep busy" approach, along with simply goaling myself to the next week. "Okay, all I have to do is get to week 11." Okay, made it to week ...

Puppies are both wonderful and aggrivating! When Gizmo was at her puppy-cutest, she was also chewing, peeing, pooping, and making a mess every time we turned around! (Where does this sounds familiar?)
We had a lot of luck over time with dog training classes, and I bet your 9-year-old would get ...

Wow!
Those are some really good ideas! I like them all! I have been watching Animal Planet a lot lately, and the dog trainers also use the treat-with-association technique to relate the new baby with something good.

While we don't have Down's in my family, both of my brothers have disabled children (One has severe autism and the other was diagnosed with severe ADD, like in the movie "The Other Sister").
While it has been hard, it has neither been the end of their worlds or the end of their happiness.
For ...

How do we tell the dog?

We have a little 7-year-old shih tzu who has up to this point been the adored baby of the family. While we have other pets, she has always been the princess who gets held, loved, and pampered.
How do we break the news to her that her quiet days of napping are coming to a close? She has pretty much ...

I'm 5'8" and I also started pregnancy at 166 and have been crushing the scale (oops! I mean weighing in!) at 172 lately. I am at 19 weeks. The doctor has a little chart that shows what is medically considered healthy weight gain for where you are at in pregnancy.
According to "A Child is Born ...

I had a sub C bleed from weeks 14-17 - Just had an ultrasound the other day and didn't see much that was concerning (I'm coming up on week 19).
I was scared to death every day! The doctor put me on lovenox, baby aspirin and a multitude of supliments.
Like you , mine was brown old blood with no real ...
