My hubby had had some tests before I was with him and then a couple of years ago had his sperm tested again and the result was the same. He has never had a sergical biopsy so can't help you there.

Good luck with yours!

Where abouts are you?

My hubby produces sperm but it dies as soon as it is produced so they can't do anything with it. His is due to getting mumps when he was a teenager though!

I finally got through to the DI unit at the Southampton Hospital and she has said that if I'm referred by my Doctor we'll get it there on the NHS!

I have an appointment with my Doctor next Wednesday and then we'll go on from there.

I have been told that I will have to have tests including a ...

Thanks for that. Doesn't seem that it's as expensive as I first thought it might be - I was thinking it would be £2000 a time!

I got a quote (sounds daft) a while ago from a clinic in London and they said it was £2000!! I'm ringing the Southampton one tomorrow so we'll see what they say.

He actually found out with his 2nd wife (I'm number three!) and I knew right from the beginning of our relationship. It is only now that we have a secure business and a bigger house that we want to try for a baby. He's fine about the whole thing and I'd say wants this more than I do.

Thanks Caz. His is due to mumps as well.

We have been talking it over since we got married 5 years ago and now seems a good time to start trying as we are financially secure but don't want to leave it much longer as he is 43 and I'm 32.

How much does it cost?
