SJ & All July August Mommies:

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm impressed if you have time to get onto the board and post or even read the posts during those first 6-8 weeks. It's such a wonderfully exhausting time isn't it? Know that it just gets easier the older they get.

Welcome to the Parents ...

Jen:

Poor you. I remember going through the exact scenario (minus the reflux) with Jessica. My husband calls it my "dark period", as I was a nightmare getting no sleep.

I even remember getting on the Internet at night and buying anything that mentioned how to get your baby to sleep...I ended up ...

Toni!

Congratulations on your twins! I really like the Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child book by Dr. Weisbluth. It worked wonderfully with my first child and is doing the same with our 3 1/2 mos old.

0-8 weeks old he really just says to go with the flow as they are too young to establish major ...

I had three embryos of very good quality put back because I wasn't going to do IVF again, it was a one shot deal. I have a 3 month old beautiful baby girl. You just never know!

Oh Cate:

I'm so sorry. Your poor little girls, I didn't know whooping cough was a summer thing..I thought more of a winter epidemic. So what are you able to do for Kirsty? Did they give you a nebulizer and some Xopenex? Antibiotics?

Nothing worse than a tiny baby getting sick. When I was in the ...

Barny!

Glad to see you are getting along great. Little Joe sounds like he's doing well too! First jabs....heartwrenching isn't it? He sounds like a big boy! Jessica was 11 lbs 8oz at her 8 week appt and 24 inches long. So she's growing and doing well.

It's so funny that some of us with one baby ...

Dearest Cate!

I'm so glad Kirstin is doing great. It's amazing to see those first smiles isn't it? I love to go get Jessica out of her crib first thing in the am, she smiles and coos and is so happy in the morning.
I hated the 2 mos old shots! It's so heartwrenching to see them stick your baby ...

I'm cracking up at your feet comment. Mine swelled horribly as well, and I normally have such bony skinny ankles....which I love!

Be prepared for them to get worse after you deliver...I'll bet it took 2-3 weeks for my kidney's to pump out all of the fluids that are put into you via IV for a ...

Hi Hina:

I chose to have 3 embryos put back. I really wanted a 5 day transfer (blast), so I was really disappointed when they called on day 3 and said to come in. Then the Dr. explained that out of my 10 that fertilized...3 of them were so much better than the rest that he already knew which ones ...

Toni:

You are right...breastfeeding burns an extra 500 calories a day. That is approximately a 45-60 minute jog.

With first babies....the milk doesn't usually come in until 4-5 days after birth. With my 2nd baby it was in day 3. The babies are soooo hungry and the nurses and the lactation ...

Hi 3rd Trimeser Ladies:

Just wanted to know I've been following your progress since your first trimester! My Aug/Sept buddies were 1 trimester ahead of you, so it was fun to see everyone commenting on what we just went through. Now everyone is approaching the BIG day! Congratulations for getting ...

I found this on the web:

www.storknet.com/experts/fitness/exls16.htm

It's a whole series of exercises you can do to correct your abdominal separation. They actually should go back I think, but maybe because you were carrying twins it's different. My jelly belly has a long ways to go! My ...

So how are all of my cycle buddies/new mommies doing? Are we surviving...barely?

Jessica has slept 8 hrs in a row the last 2 nights. I think that it is for sure a fluke and we will have sleepless nights again, I think it's better to be pessimistic and surprised than to have optimal expectations ...
