Zirly, I'm so glad for you.

And not surprised - even with the i embryo transfer.
With your age and the PGD normal single blast - the odds of a BFP were better than 50-50.

I'm so so happy for you. Are your other two children boys? girls? 1 of each?

1. The CDC has shown that woman under 35 who ELECT to have one transferred -- that is, there is more than one available, but they choose to transfer 1, have almost the same rate of pregnancy as those who transfer 2 ... and that transferring 2 does little more than increase the chance the twins. The ...

Zirly, this is awful! I'm so sorry ...

Two things

1. I'm pretty sure that although a second biopsy could damage the embryos and their survival, the babies themselves will be fine. They're just removing cells, and the cells that remain will have the same dna structure they did before the second ...

Zirly, here are some facts/stats as I know them

1. fragmented embryos may not have the same chance at implanting as non-fragmented, but if they produce babies just as perfect as any other embryo

2. According to 2002 ART from the CDC, woman under 35 who had enough embryos to implant with additional ...

Patie ... stay motivated, because a future bundle of yours now comes with one of 31single's awesome handmade baby blankets :) You are the first and only one on here to tell me I'm not necessarily nuts. It actually does mean a lot.

So thank you. Here I am, single, going forward with this alone ...

Confession regarding my craziness

ok folks ... so, I decided to try to have a child on my own about 6 months ago. And the clinic I chose (after thorough research) had a 3 month waiting list for the first consultation (though they said I can begin right after that if all goes well). That appointment is in 2 weeks.

So in these months ...

Congratulations and Best Wishes for the pregnancy!

I don't know if this helps or whether it's related ...

My mother had one leg swell up like a balloon when she was pregnant with me. It made her pregnancy a pain (and I only became more of a pain when I was born ... :) )

The doc said she was ...

The emotions on this board

Hello everyone.

I am so very new to these boards, and I haven't even started any treatment yet ... just have appointments scheduled.

But in the few days I've been reading this board, I've been crying - sometimes sad, sometimes happy - almost non-stop when I read this board!

So much hope ...

Weight Loss right before IVF

Hi everyone. I know weight loss is good for IVF. But what about RIGHT before?

I'm about 12-16 lbs overweight. Nothing dramatic, but still gives me a BMI of nearly 27, which is less than ideal.

Is losing weight IMMEDIATELY before IVF a good thing? I could probably lose 12 lbs in the 5 or so weeks ...

Re: Freeze and Thaw Survival?

I've thought about that Mazy ... but even more extreme. I have exactly one vial of my ideal donor. I bought the last vial that this donor had with the bank. (my IVF appt is September 18 ...).

Even if I manage to get more than one transfer's worth of embryos out of one stimulation, what if none of ...

31, single, and going in for IVF

Hello.

I'm 31 years old, overeducated, single, and going in for my first IVF attempt in October. I was in a 7 year relationship with a guy who always wanted children "maybe next year." He was always telling me how having a child would ruin *my* career.

Well, when I turned 30, I decided I wasn't go ...
