Hi everyone,

Thanks for digging this thread up!

I'm now about 26 weeks and doing OK - yes, feeling big but loving every little movement I see with this little one. She's not super active - goes in spurts.

I've been on restricted activity since week 16 as I have placenta previa (placenta is ...

I was also very scared to stop the progesterone. My doctor told me to stop in week 12 (by that time, I had been discharged to my regular OB and they don't do routine progesterone blood tests like the fertility docs do). I weended myself off the suppositories by week 14 but was still scared I wasn't ...

Hi Shanny,
I've been going through the same thing since week 15. I thought I was having braxton hicks contractions - after many tests and u/s check of the cervix, it seems to be round ligament pain (mostly concentrated on my right side). I'm pretty tall so I guess I'm just stretching a lot. I also ...

The doctor called - the results are negative on the fetal fibronectin (fFN) test :)
SO, he thinks in my case, it is not Braxton Hicks but the round ligaments pulling on the uterus. I'm pretty tall (5'9") and relatively thin so I'm guessing there is just a little extra stretching/pulling going on ...

Yup Rae76, fetal fibronectin (fFN) test. He did the test this morning and put a rush on it so we'll have the results this afternoon. He did an internal exam and said my cervix is high, long and very hard which is exactly what they want to see. Based on that, and the ultrasound last week, he's ...

The doctor is testing me tomorrow for a protein to determine if I am predisposed to premature labor. He's not willing to write mine off to Braxton Hicks till he gets those results - ugh. Since it is a vaginal swab, it will probably be a week or so before I hear anything.

I hope yours subside soon!

I hope your OB can see, Heidi - it is nice to get the u/s :) Let us know how you make out with the dr.

I called mine again today since they never really told me if I had BH or not - still waiting for a call back from the dr.

Once they found the Placenta Previa, they didn't talk about the ...

Thank you so much for your message, Erin! You sound calm about it so that makes me feel a bit better.

So you've been doing fine with it with just those minor restrictions (I have the same restrictions)? I was so upset yesterday when he told me. My 20w u/s is June 11 so I guess I'll get a progress ...

Hi,

Just wanted to give an update. No UTI and the u/s showed that my cervix is fine - all good news.

So now for the bad news - they did find I have placenta previa (low lying placenta). The doctor said the placenta could still move up as the uterus stretches, but to be honest, I'm terrified. I'm ...

Good, glad my post helped you, Kimberly! And even better to know everything seems to be fine with you - just early for the Braxton Hicks. Congrats on one of each - you can get better than that!!!

You are lucky they would do the u/s in your dr's office. I'm going to the office in a little while to ...

I finally got an answer from my dr. Since it is so early in the pregnancy (16 weeks), they want to rule out other things first. They think it could be a urinary tract infection and think I may deydrate a bit when I sleep, causing the contractions. They've also ordered a special ultrasound to measure ...

I think that's what it is - everything I read says you normally don't feel them til 20 weeks if you are a first timer (but they actually start much earlier). I started feeling this at 15 weeks.

I'm going to call the doctor just to confirm this afternoon - have a busy morning, but I will post an ...

Braxton Hicks Contractions?

Hi,
Has anyone experienced Braxton-Hicks Contractions yet? I'm 16 weeks pregnant and have recently started getting an overall tightening of my uterus a few times a day. It gets really hard and feels like a ball for about 30-45 seconds, then goes away. It doesn't hurt -just feels really tight.

It ...

Hi,
I still have the AF type cramps too. I've gotten them almost everyday since I've been pregnant and I'm now 15 weeks. I was just at the doctor yesterday and mentinoned it - he said it is likely due to stretching and growth of the uterus. It's always good to check in with the doctor just to ...

Hi Steph,

I heard it at my 12 weeks appt. I was also released to my OB in week 8. I had my first OB appt in week 8, and he couldn't hear the heartbeat yet.

I have a titled (retroverted uterus) so I was told it would take longer to hear the heartbeat for me since the uterus was sitting back in my ...
