Congrats to everyone who has finally got there scans! That is so exciting! Is anyone holding out for the surprise factor? I could not do that but I commend people who do.

DH surprised me this weekend as we went to the baby store because I wanted to compare prices of cribs and changing tables and he bought me the ones I wanted right there on the spot! It was so exciting but also made me a little nervous as it feels more real now and I just hope that everyone stays healthy and strong! I also started the boys baby books. I just feel like I need to be doing something.

Well, I have an appointment with the OB tomorrow and another ultrasound next week as they found my placenta was laying low on my last ultrasound. They are hoping it will start to move up to where is should be so I am hoping that next week they find and improvement.

Well, got to get to work now. Glad to see everyone moving along so well. Hugs to baby bellies!

Great level 2 results ladies!! I'm so glad everyone seems to be doing so well! :D

I copied the below text from the Oct thread, as I'm in a hurry but wanted to give a quick update on the baby and our living situation:

We had our anatomy (structural) u/s today and the baby is doing great. He (yes, it's confirmed now - three different scans cannot be wrong, we're having a precious little boy!!!) is about 15 and a half ounces and 8 inches now. All the important parts were where they're supposed to be.

My big worry now is that I'm having contractions. They're painless (though somewhat uncomfortable) so they're "just" Braxton-Hicks, but I'm having a bit too many too often, so my OB is taking this seriously and wants to see me back next week. For now, though, my cervix was closed and OK in length so that was a relief. Hopefully the contractions will subside now that most of our other stress is gone - we just decided to stay here until the baby is born so I don't have to worry about changing doctors etc, we got a bigger apartment in our very own apt.complex and DH got the job he wanted (will take us to Europe once the little one is here - perfect!!). I also got some mild meds for a possible urinary tract infection although I really don't have any symptoms and the test will take a couple of days to come back. My OB seemed to think it was worth trying; its possible that the contractions could be due to that. Now I'm also not allowed to exercise any more which is a pain, but hey, I'd do anything for the baby..

Have a great weekend ladiesl!! Halfway, well done us....

Hi girls,

Havent' hear from anyone for awhile and thought I might bump it up. We had our ultrasound today because I was having lots of cramping and pressure on my cervix, so my dr. moved it up a week. I have to tell you that was one of the best hours of my life!!

It is a girl!! I am so excited!! Everything looks great and my cervix is fine. So maybe I'm just like you rae76 and I'm having Braxton Hicks. I feel like my body is so much more sensative than other girls without fertilty problems. Most the time I ask if they felt like this, they have no idea what I'm talking about.

Anyway, we can now get the room ready as our other little guy is due in 2 weeks! So it will be pink and blue. How are you gals with twins going to decorate your rooms? We found some cute bedding at Babies R us that is not a big set, but seperates and we found exact same bedding except one is blue and one is pink. I think it will look great together. Anyway, have a great weekend all!

Congrats, Shanny! How exciting to have one of each. I'm glad that the pain was nothing....I do think you're right that we pay more attention to each and every twinge--I'm trying to be better about that.

I'm feeling really good these days. I think I must be in the "fun" part of pregnancy. The baby kicks a lot, which I love. Of course, there are days when she's not as active and then I freak out but if I didn't have something to worry about I'm sure I'd worry about not worrying! Otherwise, I'm just getting the nursery ready and buying clothes and all that fun stuff.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

I am having a lot of braxton hicks contractions and my cervix was starting to soften at 27 weeks, so I am now on bedrest!!! I will be 29 weeks in a couple days and go back in Friday for them to check my cervix. They put me on medication for the contractions but it hasn't really helped. Just hope I can make it to 34 weeks. Hope everyone else's pregnancy is going okay.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for digging this thread up!

I'm now about 26 weeks and doing OK - yes, feeling big but loving every little movement I see with this little one. She's not super active - goes in spurts.

I've been on restricted activity since week 16 as I have placenta previa (placenta is located on top of the cervix which can cause spontaneous hemmoraging). So far, things have been ok but I just can't do much (not full bedrest yet). The dr's don't think the placenta will move so I'll likely be having a c-section.

K-Rose, I hope thing go well at you next appt and there have been no further cervical changes. My cousin is also having twins and the same thing has happened to her. They are trying to get her to hang on till the babies are 5lbs each. So far, so good.

Hope everyone else is doing great!

Hi girls,

So glad to see this thread again. I haven't posted much as our adopted son came June 9th. He is adorable and fun, but having two and being pregnant is a lot of work!! He is now almost 6 weeks and really starting to show some personality. You forget how hard the first couple months are! Just when we get the hang of it our little girl will be here. Then we will start newborn phase all over again. Sometimes I really worry about juggling the two, but I am so grateful for them and I know at a certain age they will be so much fun!!!!

Kbarry and K-Rose sorry to hear about your restrictions. Good luck and take care of yourselves we are on the home stretch!! You can do it!! Anyway better go. Hope to hear updates from all the fall 2007 mommies!

Congrats on the son, shanny! I can't imagine trying to take care of a newborn right now on top of being pregnant. You're getting extra credit somewhere for sure

Kbarry--I suppose it's good that you know now about the previa...my mom had it with my little sister and didn't know until she started bleeding out--had to have an emergency c-section. Scary. Hmmm, restricted activity actually sounds pretty nice right now, but I suppose that's just because I'm lazy!

k-rose--bed rest? Hope you have lots of books, magazines etc to help keep you from going crazy!

Mia--I bet you're tired. I'm just carrying the one and I'm shot by the end of the day! How's Vegas? Heard it's been pretty hot there this summer!

I'm doing great. Can't believe that I'm at 30 weeks already. She's so active and I love it. Although of course she stops moving whenever I try to have dh feel her! Stubborn already, not a good sign! Anyway, I'm pretty boring right now. Just going to the doctor every two weeks and trying to get everything ready. I'm having a baby shower next weekend and then one the weekend after that, so I have lots to look forward to!

Hope everyone else is doing great and thanks for bringing this thread back up---I have the feeling that the closer we get to delivery, the more questions we'll have!

Shanny, congrats on bringing your little one home! I know it's hard work, but I'm sure you will do fine. Take it one day at a time and remember to breathe. It will all be worth it. I worry how I will handle 2 newborns and 3 dogs (my dogs are very needy and accustomed to being spoiled). But I look forward to it as a good challenge and a wonderful experience to come.

kbarry, sorry about your restricted activity. Looks like you are taking good care of yourself and things will go well for you. We're in the home stretch now. Hang in there.

Krose, sorry to hear you have to be on bedrest. What do you do to keep busy? I have a few ideas incase I end up on bedrest. I will continue to crochet baby blankets, maybe even try to make a couple hats and booties. I have a bunch of baby and parenting books I need to read on child development, breastfeeding, a book on twins, a vaccination guide, etc. of course there is always TV  and DVDs. DH bought a 32" flat panel TV for the bedroom. He says it's so I will have a nice TV to watch when/if I go on bedrest. I'm sure he wasn't thinking about himself at all when he bought it.

meg12, good to hear that your pregnancy is going well. Yes I am very tired by the end of the day and I don't know how much longer I'll be able to just get up and go. These kids are getting heavy! It's definately putting a strain on my pelvic area. By now they should be over 2.5 lbs each. A week ago at my US they we're measuring a little big for their age too. I can't go shopping for more than 20 minutes before I just want to sit down. I think I'm going to have to get as much baby supply shopping done as possible within the next week (unless I can do it online). Plus the heat is really unbearable for me. By the time I walk from the car to the store, I'm half way wiped out.
oooo you get 2 baby showers in a row, fun! I hope you get all the gear you need. Baby stuff is expensive, it's always nice when people help out with that.

Well, I'm definately feeling the 3 trimester woes now. It's really hard to get comfortable to sleep, even with my hundreds of pillows tuck in here and there. Walking seems to be getting more and more difficult too. If the Dr doesn't put me on bedrest, I might put myself on bedrest in couple of weeks. I'm 29 wks now but at my OB appt last friday they said I was measuring at 36 wks. I do look like I'm ready to pop. sure feels like it too. I had my blood glucose tollerance test 2 weeks ago and my levels were slightly elevated, so I have to do the 3 hr test on monday. For 3 days before my test I had to eat a special diet with added sugar and starch, go figure. My perinatologist says that if my levels are high again, he will need to see me more often. He will need to keep a closer eye on me and the twins because they are a little big and that could be caused by gestational diabetes. Although he did say that higher glucose levels are comon in twin pregnancies and my twins are only measuring a day or 2 big for their age, which is not bad.
Oh and for some fun news, we got our new nursery painted! :D we totally changed our theme. It was going to be a safari theme at our old house. Now we have an under sea theme. It's going to be so cute! the ceiling and 2/3 way down the walls are a light aqua blue and then the 1/3 bottom of the wall is a tan/beige so it looks like sand. I have ordered some under the sea bedding, but it looks like it will arrive in Sept. :x I just hope they come before the boys do. DH was at Ikea a couple of weeks ago when he went to LA and picked up a couple of seahorse night light sconces. which is what inspired us to change our theme.
well enough of this novel. I've got to go lie down for a minute. I hope everyone is feeling good.

Hi ladies!

Shanny, congratulations on your son!!!

K-rose, how are you doing? I hope your cervical changes stopped and you have since been allowed up. Bedrest sucks so bad!!!

...which I know, because I was put on it on week 26 because of a severely shortened cervix. They didn't think I'd make it to 32 weeks, maybe not even up to 28. I was allowed to stay home, however, since my (very effaced) cervix was still closed (although funneling). Well, here I am still - I see my dr every week and we cannot believe we've made it so far. Now we're setting our target at 34 weeks after which the baby should be much readier.

So, it's been quite boring (and scary at the same time) but I've had a lot of help and have really obeyed all the very strict restrictions set, as I want to give my baby as many safe weeks within the womb. The great news is he's doing splendidly, so I'm very hopeful things will turn out fine.

How's everyone else holding up?

Rae76,

I am holding up. I'm now 32 weeks and yes my cervix has stopped changing. They had to put me on nefidipine for the contractions, which I still have every 10 minutes, but luckily it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I'm still on bedrest (well really modified as I have a wheelchair and can be up in that during the day). I can't sit for too long though as I seem to contract more when I am sitting up, but it has made things a little more bearable. They still want me on bedrest until 36 weeks, but wont be concerned after 34 weeks. I have started to itch again, which is driving me crazy, but it's not the hives I had early on. Just generalized itching all over. I should buy stock in Aveno Oatmeal Bath!!!!

HOpe everyone else is doing well.

Hi all
Sounds like a few of us are on bedrest. I will join that one as well. Its tough stuff being on bedrest. My cervix is softening and have two bouts of bleeding. Things have been quite for about 1 1/2 weeks. Once I hit 32 weeks they will be happy and of course 35 weeks I am good.
Wonder is this IVF stuff has anything to do with more complications with pregnancy.

Shanny..congrats on your new little one. Boy do you have your hands full. Best of Luck to you.

Hope everyone is getting ready for this new life. Wow. Its going to be here soon.

Take Care :D :D :D :D

Oh my goodness!!!! I can't believe what I have missed! This is one bedresting group of fall babies! It sounds like everyone is doing well regardless of the bedrest which is great. Maybe the babies needing all this rest will love to sleep when they finally get here! It doesn't hurt to hope. :D

Soon we will all be writing about the babies being here! This is a pretty tight group of due dates as well. Can you all believe that we are on the home stretch already? Seems like the time has flown by and I can't imagine what it will really be like when they are here. Has everyone had their showers already? Photos of the nursery? Can't wait to see all the different themes.

We have been busy and the twins are growing like mad!!! I am ALL baby! The body looks the same except for my 20 lb. ball up front of twins! It's pretty funny to see myself this way. DH just laughs and comments on how uncomfortable being pg must be. I have been pretty lucky so far and made it with minimal problems. My arms go numb easily, I have very low iron even on the suppliment, slightly bad circulation, and the contractions have been here since month three but aren't doing any work yet so I'm happy about that. My OB said last week we are aiming for 35 weeks now and I hope we get there!

The nursery is coming along a bit swifter now. We went with a vintage farm theme since we have a boy and a girl. I was raised on a ranch in Montana so it reminds me of home and I love the idea of teaching the babies the importance of land and caring for animals and each other right on their walls. My interior decortator came out to give me a bid on making the bedding Friday and I about had a heartattack. She must have thought I won the lottery because for two bedskirts, bumpers, pillows, and one valance she was going to charge me almost $2000.00!!!
Not even a quilt! Having said that, I was at the fabric store this weekend and am now half way done making it myself for $200. I found the same fabric and everything. My sewing leaves something to be desired but I can make it well enought to be happy about an $1800. savings.

Other than that we are almost ready. I think between the shower and just needing a few little things these babies are set to come home. Hope all is well with everyone and I can't wait to start hearing baby stories!

Take care everyone!
