Anna, you've had to wait so long for this, it's important that you don't get AF and then not be able to do anything with it and have to wait for another one - why don't you just ring around a few London clinics, explain the situation and see how long it would be before you could start your cycle - say you've got your protocol all worked out, you can bring your full notes from the other clinic, and say you've had all the tests and suitability checks done already and it's all up-to-date - all you need is to go ahead with the cycle - with a half-hour doctor's appointment? Try the Lister, the Bridge, there are a couple on Harley St. that are top of the range, and see what they say. If they say you'll have to wait a month, then there's no point in trying to move clinics, but at least you'll have checked it out. When I was thinking of moving clinics I got an appointment within a week to see the doctor, and could have gone ahead that month if I'd got things like the Hepatitis and HIV tests done that they required (you didn't need those at the Lister - I didn't have any blood tests done but you might have got those results already). It doesn't sound as though your clinic understands the urgency of people of our age wanting to get on with the treatment before we're too old!
Good luck anyway.

Jeni, sorry to hear about your Dad. That's really tough. I understand how sad you're feeling. I never saw my dad get old, he died quite young, but my mum got extremely and dangerously ill last year and it was a shock, seeing her all hooked up on drips and bone thin.

Take care, all,

Larax

Lara, thanks for your message. I have emailed the Lister about transferring treatment. Don't know what they will say but I feel better being proactive!
Have also emailed the clinic in Barcelona regarding egg donors. I'm not getting any younger!!

Jen, thank you so much for my pm. Am trying to take one day at a time!So sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he is up and about soon.

PMA to all

Jen - so sorry to hear your Dad is not doing well. I think that is one of the hardest things in the world to see... your Father, the man of all men in your life, in a weak moment. Remember, he is still the guy you know and love and he needs to see that in your eyes. That generation can't handle pity, especially from the women they love. God bless you as you get through this.

Sandra! only one more sleep and you'll know! Woo hoo! I'm so excited! How are you feeling?

My premenstrual migraine came on hard and now I have 99.9% of my answer. AF is due within 48 hours for sure. No sadness really. I've had several days of this reality coming on me, so I'm okay. I will go ahead and test on Friday, but ... I know. So for our group this round it's all up to you and Debra!!! (even though, I have to keep reminding people of this, YOU are a youngster at only 36, but for some reason you like hanging with us oldies  ) Come on BFP for Feb 15!!!!

Hi Randa

Hope you dont mind but thought I would join the over 40's group!!
I am on my 4th icsi attempt - first 3, only 1 went to et (1 egg fertilised and transfered, but failed) - poor result with stimulation meds + age! This attempt - ec 1/2 et 3/2 (2 x good 4 cell embryos transfered) now on the dreaded 2ww. Have had migraine and af cramping today but seems to have settled (fingers crossed!) We have to stay positive girl!
It's really nice to have other people in the same position to talk to.
Good luck to you for a BFP!!! :D
I'll be rooting for you with the others!

Caz x

Hehe Randa ..! I don't feel so young, you know. In fact, I feel about 96 at the moment... Thanks to you, and everybody else for putting up with me on this thread !

Sorry to be so gloomy but I don't hold out much hope for tomorrow .. pre-menstrual spots and all that .. Oh dear, we put ourselves through it, don't we..

I hope you are so wrong re your headache. Maybe it's your body's way of just knowing that AF should be coming along, and preparing itself, and it will lead to nothing. You know, just like all the girls with AF cramps, convinced AF will show any second - only for it to pass. Am I making any sense, or just babbling ? Babbling, I think.

I hope you can just keep a little pma together for another couple of days and blow our minds on Friday !!!

Take care

Sandra,

Are you in sales by any chance? You are very convincing, young lady. What you say is true, and that's the 1% of hope I still have.

I want you to "blow our minds" tomorrow! The last thing my doc said as we were leaving ET was, "come in for that blood test, even if you think you have started your period, because many times you can still be pregnant." So tell your "spotting" to go fly a kite... nothing's over til the fat lady sings!

In the meantime, how's your hubby holding out? Mine just goes right on with his life as normal as pie. Like he hasn't a care in the world and hasn't even given this a thought since leaving ET. :D In fact, he found a "deal" on flights to Arizona that has us flying out on different days - get this - his flight leaves tomorrow! He won't even be with me when test date is here. And I still haven't figured out how to give myself the last two perogesterone shots (Thurs/Fri). ???? But he's sure we'll figure it out - no worries for him at all. :D God love em. In my next life, I'm coming back as a MAN!

Jen

I'm sorry to read your news about your dad. A similar thing happened to me with mine, so I can empathise with what you must be going through. It's very tiring when something like this happens. You've got to remember to look after yourself as well - you know - remember to eat and sleep. Otherwise, you'll be no use to anyone (in the nicest possible way).

I hope things improve quickly. Take care

I leave on Saturday. His intent was to give us a distraction for whatever result we get, so I guess I should give the guy points for that. I just assumed we'd fly together. He just can't resist a good deal, and with miles, the tickets are completely free. He is making me dinner tonight for valentines and I woke up to a dozen beautiful red roses and a big box of chocolates, so I will definately get my attitude adjusted before he gets home tonight. He deserves for me to be in a good mood.

You didn't say, how is your hubby dealing?

Hey Caz,
Thanks for sharing and so glad to have you join us!

Wow! You and I are in the same boat! (lots of similarities)
I hope your migraine turns out to be a fake, especially since it has subsided. That could be a good sign. Mine went full force and even lasted an extra half day longer than the norm. :(
How long have you had migrains with your period?
I have had them since my late twenties.

When is your test date? Are you on the Feb test thread?

jules- you must be nearly 14wks now? Smiles of joy when i think of that ...you and sweetie take care. 8) :D 8)

a BIG hi to everyone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hugs.

my update: Dad has settled well in hosp. they are still doing CT scans etc They think it was a series of mini strokes he had...luckily not too damaging. His mood is the best i have seen since before his heart op 5 wks ago. The docs at this hosp think that because he was taken off
warferin ( blood thinner) 5wks ago after his heart op, this has caused a blood clot. What anger our whole family is that he has heard nothing since his failed op, and has contacted the consultants secretary every week ( now 5wks ). This after care is terrible ( NHS) he did not even see the heart surgen when he was in hosp...
Anyway dad will be getting more tests over the next few days and hopfully be home next week. thanks for all your support..

love jen
