i feel the need to "vent" right now about Ohio Rep. Medicine and I figure I can give my 2 ORM buddies a heads up.

Up until I got pregnant - ORM was great with calling me on my cell phone to give me results of my blood tests - estrogen, etc. On all the paperwork I put my cell phone # as my primary contact number. I am never home during the week until after 6 PM.

Once you have your first HCG test - they will insist on calling only your home phone number and leaving a message. I had to call and plead with them to call my cell # last Thurs. to give me my pregnancy results. Then, on Monday - they left this really long message AT MY HOUSE about my follow up HCG test. Since my dh got home from work early - he got the message and called me on my cell to give it to me.

Today - I had another HCG and prog. level test. I called their vmail this AM and begged them to call my cell. They are going to tell me if I need to keep doing prog. shots or switch to suppositories. If I need a shot - I have to stop at my friends house on the way home to get it. I usually have heard from them by this time and I just know they called my d*mn house! DH is working late today so he can't check machine at home. I just called and left another message asking them to PLEASE call my cell and let me know if I need to do another prog shot tonight. Looks like I have to go all the way home (an hour drive after I take my dog, who is with me at work, to his 5:30 vet appt) get the message, drop off dog and drive all the way back to my friend's house to get shot. (another 40 min. driving)

I even have the prog. and syringe with me since I knew I was having a late day today - ahhhhh!!! Should I just stop and get the shot anyway - not knowing if I am supposed to go to pharmacy and pick up suppositories? Guess it probably won't matter too much.

WHY DO THEY STOP CALLING CELLS WHEN THE CALLS NOW ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT EVER?? It's very frustrating.

If I were you girls and you work during the day - give them your cell number as your home number so you don't have to go thru this. I wish I would have done that.

Thanks for letting me air this out. Wish I felt better. :x

Ok - I received the phone call about 10 min. after I posted my rant - must of sent some message out into the universe or something - lol!!

My HCG is 3556 19 dpo! Is it me - or does that seem high??

Anyway - I feel much, much better now and feel kinda bad for getting so ticked off. Blame it on hormones!

That so stinks about your call. I remember them telling me that they will only be calling home for the pregnancy tests, nothing else. That seems weird that they would not call for a progesterone test.
OK, your hcg seems very high!! I bet you are having twins!
I looked in my "infertility survival handbook" and it says that at 4-5 weeks past should be between 75-2,600. You are wayyyyyy high!! What did the ORM say? Did you say dpo or dpt? I would assume it was dpo. Congrats, that is healthy pregnancy!
Have they scheduled your scan?

This 2 ww is killing me. I have been resting for the last 2 days and I am bored.

Lisa,
I am glad you finally heard. Yes, that sounds high, but it has been so long since I have been pregnant, that I can't remember. I am not sure where to go to find out about it either.

Miel,
Try to find a good book and enjoy your time of rest. So far our IVF journey has gone pretty quickly, so I am sure these 2 weeks will, too. Won't they?!? They have to!!!

Hi girls. Sorry again for my little rage yesterday against ORM (truth is I LOVE them for what they have done for me)- Geez am I ever hormonal! My DH said something last night that wasn't even intended in a bad way and I took it in the worst possible way and cried for an hour or so - now I am sitting here at my desk all puffy-eyed and everyone keeps asking me if I am ok (none of them know I am pg). I just keep telling them I am tired. I feel so silly now - guess I was really emotional yesterday - not like me at all!!

I am thinking of both of you on your 2ww - I know how agonizing it is. You don't have long now. Are you two thinking of doing an HPT, or you going to wait for the blood draw? Any symptoms to report?

As far as my levels being high and indicating twins - yes it is a very real possibility that I am dealing with. During my first scan (scheduled for 5/8) I would be very happy to see one healthy heartbeat - and even more so to see two!! That means I will have been double blessed!!! I can't thank God enough right now - this is truly amazing and I hope you both get BFPs as well!! I am rooting for you :)

I was so positive and optimistic about this until I got in the 2 week wait, and now I am a mess. I took a home test, knowing it was too soon, and it was negative, which bummed me out.
Despite my uterus problem, the dr. wanted to transfer 2, and now I wish I would have let him. I just feel like that would have upped my chances. I just feel so un-pregnant right now that I could cry.
I have some more home tests in a bag in my bathroom - I just need to leave them alone until a more reasonable time. Tuesday can't come fast enough for me.
One positive thing - I am very tired and have taken an afternoon nap the past couple days, which I NEVER do. When I was pregnant before, that was always my first symptom. So I am clinging to that with all I have!

Thanks for listening, fellow Buckeyes.

Sherry - that is why I stayed away from the HPTs until the night before my blood test. I was afraid of getting a false positive. When I had my actual blood test on 4/13 (exactly 14 dpo, 9dpt) my HCG level was 109. So imagine if I had taken the HPT just a few days earlier - it could have been negative b/c my HCG level was probably undetectable at that time.

I am in pure agreement w/the ladies who think HPTs are evil. I only took one the night before my test (and I took one that measures HCG level of 25) b/c I figured I had to wait all day on a phone call and I wanted a "heads up". I had my friends, sister, etc telling me to take one days before and I refused to.

Don't get discouraged - it is way too early for HCG to be picked up by an HPT. And the tiredness is a great sign!! I know it's hard to stay positive but try, okay? I'm always here for you if you need to vent.

Sherry sweetie I am so, so sorry you got a BFN. I can only imagine how heartbroken you must feel. I am glad, however, that you are ready to do what is next. That is a good attitude to have. Did you have any embryos frozen??

I know you have strong faith - so I am sure you believe that God has a reason for everything and that you WILL have a baby when the time is right.

I am here for you always - and I will continue to pray for you.

Take care of yourself.

Sherry,
your positive attitude will get you far. Hopefully the wait for "what's next" will not be long. Then you can focus your energy on that little frozen embie. I am very sad for you and have thought about you all day. Please vent all you want, we are here.

I have now become very worried and nervous for my results. Thursday will come soon enough, but I wouldn't mind a test to lighten the blow. Still positive thinking......
Lisa, when you tested the evening before, was the test clearly positive?

Hugs to all,
Miel

Miel,

First of all, I had never had a positive HPT in my life. I was used to seeing that first line appear, and then nothing. When I took that first HPT the night before my blood test, the first line appeared as always and after a minute I was scared it was negative. (this was First Response Early Test - by the way). Then this tiny little faint line started to appear. I almost couldn't believe it - I had to hold it up under the light. After 5 minutes or so it was still faint, but easier to see. The next morning, I took two more (another First Response and a Clear Blue Early test) and they were both positive with slightly darker lines.

I recommend taking one before your bloods b/c then that lessens the agony of sitting around all day waiting on a phone call. You will have an idea of what to expect. I had my sister, friends, etc. trying to get me to take an HPT 5 days or so before my test and I refused to do it until the night before. Glad I did now b/c a false negative would have killed my spirit for no reason.

You test tomorrow - right? I know some people say bad things about First Response but I recommend it. It can give a + 5 days before your period is due. Go get one and take it tonight!! Then you can go to bed with a :) !!!

GOOD LUCK - Sending lots of babydust to you!!!!!!!!!

OK, took your advice and took a test. AND I saw a faint second line! It was the First Response, and there it was. I could not believe it. While I was taking it I was so emotional. I could barely see through my tears to see the faint line. Actually had to wipe my eyes.
I am going to take another in the morning, since there are two in the box. I am soooo crampy still. Wonder if it is still implanting? Hope all is ok.

Miel - that is great news!!! Congratulations !! I am so, so happy for you. I was very, very crampy too so don't think it's a bad thing. I guess implantation can take several days so it's normal to feel that way.

Isn't is an awesome feeling seeing that faint line? And now you probably slept a lot better without worrying so much about your test today -didn't you?

Oh I am just thrilled - let me know when you get the "official" word from ORM. Curious to see what your beta was so we can compare. Mine was 109 (14 dpo) at first - then skyrocketed and was 3556 on day 20. Everyone is teasing me saying I am having more than one. :D

Enjoy every minute of this great time! I got my BFP 2 weeks ago and I am still walking on air!
