Hi all,
I wrote a v long, v witty posting last night and lost it all in a system crash - dammit! So here I am again, up early to go to the clinic for a blood test before work.
I did my first 150ml Puregon injection last night! I was getting more and more anxious about it so decided to get it out of the way.. DH had to leave the room! Messed up my first one as was getting really cross about telly being on and as I got up to switch it off my pen rolled off the table and onto the floor, bending the needle in the process. Anyway, finally got myself sorted, did the injection in my tummy and found it to be completely painless! Couldn't believe it! Hooray!
I was so excited about starting my stimmies on my last posting that I forgot to tell you I went for my first NHS consultation with a gynae on Tuesday. I've been waiting 6 months for this appointment! Anyway, she is the first doctor who has suggested looking at DH health issues, rather than concentrating on mine, I was very impressed! She has referred him to a urologist (?) and he is to take Selenium and Zinc supplements for 3 months. DH is not impressed

Anyway, I am now officially on the NHS 2.5 year waiting list - huzzah!!
Does anyone else have to go for blood tests everyday while they're on stimmies? I guess it's very thorough but as they're £30 a go it's going to be a little expensive!
Am wondering about taking the days off between EC and ET and then going into work after that? I'm wondering if my boss will let me change my hours so I can do 8-4.30, the journey may be a little less stressful on the tube then. I've got a desk bound job and just read in Zita West's book (beginning to get a little obsessed with ZW) that sitting isn't the best position for an embryo and lying down is better! Maybe should bring that up with my boss too...
CYOT - I ahve heard that the stimmie drugs can make you feel tired, probably your body trying to cope with all the changes - just look after yourself and rest up girl!
Carolyn - I'll be thinking of you today and will be checking the site while I'm at work for news. Fingers and toes crossed for you sweetie xx
Em- Welcome to the list! I don't know much about IUI so would be interested to hear your progress. Can't believe you can do your own ultrasounds - if I were you I'd be taking that machine home with me
Natalie - I'm supposed to start on Menopur in a week or so but at the moment I can't give you any advice on the injections as I haven't tried it yet - sorry
Dania - no idea what CM is, you'll have to spell that one out for me! Have you tried using a hot water bottle on your tummy? It might help with the soreness.. worth a try. Good luck with your scan.
MissyPrissy - sounds like you're doing really well with your PMA - I hope I'm as positive as you when my turn comes.
Sally - good luck with your scan today, let us know how you get on xxx
tlkmoser - hang in there, you never know what your body is really up to with all these hormones, it coud be playing tricks.
Sofia - its a bummer about your clinic going on holiday for a week. Sounds like a very strange way to run a practice but I'm sure they wouldn't leave you on suppression drugs unless it was absolutely 100% safe to do so.
tiffichels - 1.5 inch needle? If your DH can manage that one he deserves a medal! Mine wouldn't stay in the room last night when I was using a Puregon pen! I donate blood quite a lot and the needle they use for that is huge, really thick too. I find it really helps to keep breathing deeply rather than holding your breath and look away when they are inserting the needle - it doesn't hurt half as much if you're relaxed.
LubyLu - Good luck with your scan today. Hope you find time to wind down over the weekend, look after yourself!
Missprissy - have you bought any more test kits? I guess it doesn't matter how many you do as long as you remain positive and don't get too over excited!
Beth - best of luck tomorrow with your beautiful follies! Let us know how you get on xx
Good luck again to all those who have scans today! I have to dash now, off to the clinic for the first of many blood tests!
