It's official girls -- BFP!!!

We are so happy and thrilled. I posted results on another thread, but for those of you who didn't see them, wanted to post here too.

My number was 438. So pretty strong numbers. I will retest on Monday to make sure they are doubling as should and will have first ultrasound in 2-3 weeks to determind how many.

Keep the faith!! All those injections are so worth it. And never lose hope. This is our 2nd positive in 4 tries. So dreams do come true!!! Keep believing. I will be praying for all of you.

Have a wonderful weekend. I know we sure will.

CONGRATS BRENDA!!! I am so very happy for you. You're right, these shots are worth the wonderful outcome.

I had my baseline scan today and got the go ahead to start the Repronex Stimmies tomorrow, yes, with the 1.5" needle (doc says it has to go into my muscle). DH is sooo freaked out I think he's worse off than I am haha.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Brenda's news just reaffirms why we are all here. We can do it. We're all strong women even if we don't feel like it at times.

Sofia - my cycle buddy, sorry to hear that you're not able to start stimms until 8 May, it must be really frustrating.

HI all,

I had my insemmination today. DH had to provide a sample so he did it before we left home. The whole way into the city he was stressing about it not being enough! I had to reassure him that yes it did look like a teaspoon-full and the big container just made it look like less!

Then we got to the clinic and he wanted me to hand it over to the nurse! What a wus-bag! Its not like they haven't seen sperm in a jar at the FERTILITY clinic before! He made me laugh.

Then it was on with the job and before I had a chance to finish my story about my dog being sold to me as a rotty-labX while he was actually a rotty-great daneX, it was over! Didn't feel a thing. Was worried that the doc didn't even do anything.

So now I'm officially on my first 2WW.

CYOT - Hey, I do mostly CT! I am MRI trained (I did it in the UK) but you have to kill someone to get a job in MRI in Oz. I don't officially do US, but know how to use it and read it. Plus my co-worker (sonographer) did 3xIUI's with the same doc I'm at and now she's preg with twins. She knows what I'm going through so is always keen to peek with me.

anyway, promised dh I'd watch a movie with him....and he's getting grumpy!

Bye All,

Hi Girls.
Image
Xrayem-wow that was quick. Can’t believe you already had your insemination today. You take it easy now and enjoy your movie. *lol* The story about your hubby not wanting to hand over his sample made me laugh. Good luck Girl.
Yes thx, the girls where really nice when I had my HSG.

Brenjamie-Thats brilliant news. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Take care of yourself and your little one. *g*

DaniaBB-wow...that’s alot of follies. You best have hubby running around for you so you can put your feet up. Good luck for your scan tomorrow.

WendyW-how is it going? Have you been able to start your stimms today? Fingers crossed for u.

Vessi-Good luck with your stimms.

Tlkmoser-Best of luck with your Test on Monday. I really hope it has worked for you. My fingers will be crossed for you.

LauraLou-hope bl...y cysts will disappear with your next AF. Good luck.

CYOT-hope your scan went well today and you soon be ready for EC.

Danie454-wishing you all the best for your first scan. Hope you’ll soon be able to see your baby.

LucyBucy-I can’t see why you have to have a blood test every day. Which Clinic are you at?
Telling about your first injection made me laugh, I was exactly the same with my first one *g*
Good luck.

Missprissy-When did you have your last HCG injection? I really hope it wasn’t from the injection but from your little emby making himself a home inside. Will be thinking of you. Good luck.

CarolynB-how did it go? Hope everything went fine and you are resting. My fingers are crossed for you. Take care.

Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone I might have missed.

As for myself, Blood wasn’t too good. Scan did only show 4 good sized follies. The rest looks too small to be able to catch up. They put my Gonal F up to 150 IU now and want to see me in London on Monday. That means we will be driving over on Sunday night.

I will miss you Girls and of course your support over the next few days. Hopefully I will be able to jump on the net every now and then to catch up with you lot.

Take care everyone and GOOD LUCK!!!!

Keep up the PMA, I want to see loads of BFP´s when I get back!!!

Hi girls!

Congrats Brenda a nice big BFP!!! I'm soooooo happy for you. All the best in following nine months!

Em- that story about your hubby is really funny. Made me laugh. Good luck and take it easy for the 2ww. Even my hubby this morning he had a ? for the Dr about his sperm and he was afraid to ask he had me ask how many days of abstinence he needed b4 the collection. You are right Em- men are funny sometimes. They "seem" so tough!

CYOT- how did your scan go today? I was thinking of you when I was at the hospital this morning.+ vibes!

Sally- Sorry to hear that. You must be disappointed. I'll say a prayer for more healthy follies. Have a safe drive. Keep us posted on how your are doing. Good luck!

We went to the hospital this morning for a scan and blood test to see what had changed from yesterday. The nurse just called to confirm that the blood work was good and that collection will be on monday at 10am- be there for 9am- that will be terrible with traffic. My hubby is so restless and nervous- he's starting to get to me. I'm sure by monday I'm going to be a ball of nerves too. I keep repeating to myself to stay calm. Not easy!!!

We have to inject the Profasi meds tonight at 11 pm exactly 35 hrs b4 collection. They added an extra dose of Gonal F for this afternoon, so my hubby just left (in a hectic rush) to go pick it up at the only place where it is available on a Saturday(20km away).
So i'm happy to say that out of the 30 growing 11 will be ready for collection- the other ones will probably be too small. I was scared with that first number.Happy but scared. So hang in there gals- after the down regging you feel more hopeful.

Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Monday. Take care everyone!

Hello Ladies,

Happy to report that AF has stopped and I started stimms today, DH is an absolute star with the injections. I'm on 300iu of Menopur, am I right in thinking that's quite a high dose or is it usual? I'm also still on 0.5ml of Buserelin - really do feel like a pin cushion now.

Have decided to add a ticker to count down to my scan on 8 May - hope it works :)

Love

Sorry didn't quite get the hang of the ticker first time round, so have amended and am checking to see that it works!

Any advice on how to do a 9 day rather than a 30 day ticker gratefully accepted!!!

Well Hello Dear Ladies

Sorry have been out of action but have been laid in bed as Zita says. This ought to be a quick post as should still be lying down today but could not wait to hear the news any longer. Thanks for all your support. It really means a lot to me.

First thing I did was to check Brenda's news - so thrilled to see that she got a BFP. Image

Then went to change my ticker. When it came up as 10 days to test I nearly feel off my chair!!! Felt utterly surreal for me.

So went in Friday. Told them that I had been resting & drinking loads of water and felt sore but much less sore so they let me go ahead!!!! Main thing that they wanted to know was had I been sick or dizzy?I was so happy as you will all understand. Then she told us of 13 eggs that 10 had fertilised with 2 been defective. I was well chuffed to get 8. dh was feeling pretty happy with himself too. Of the 8, they told us that 7 were good quality & 4 cell (initally disappointed but then when I remembered that I was on 48 hour transfer realised that was pretty good - it is just that many of you have the transfer at Day 3 or Day 5). Plus just one average 3 cell. Could not stop grinning.

Put back procedure was ok. Hurt a bit as still sore but only lasted like 5 mins. dh hates hospitals but he came in with me. Very brave. They had a picture of the Maldives on the ceiling and we have been there together which was sweet. I kept telling dh not to look and he kept saying - you must be joking - I am just keeping my eyes firmly on your face! We of course has 2 of the good 4 cells put back. They encouraged us to get all the other 6 frozen. So of course we did. I feel so very very lucky to have come this far in the process and at my age to have a good number of eggs that fertilised.

Have been upstairs in bed since Friday lunchtime. Only sitting up to eat and getting up to go to the loo. Watched loads of videos and just scanning magazines. dh has been really good - cooking for us (he is a rubbish cook but he has been trying really hard!!!!) - and then coming to eat with me in our bedroom. Have been pretty sore but it is easing today and my tummy feels like it is going back to a more normal size.

Laptop is downstairs so came down this morning but will shortly go back upstairs and continue to lie down. Given the 3 day weekend in the UK, it is good to make the most of it & give myself the best chance that I can. Have really been thinking of resting & feeling better so far rather than testing. Not sure how much longer that will last.

Have read all your posts. It sounds like most of you are progressing well which is terrific news.

Not long to your test Gail. Will be thinking of you & crossing my fingers. Going to stay on this thread where I 'know' everyone but may just drop my date onto the May test thread you set up as well.

Prissy - cannot believe that you did a pee stick. Your a nurse!! You should know better!!  However, it does sound encouraging and I am sure that I will succumb. Have my fingers crossed for you. Not long to go now at all.

lyceemangin - Image - the girls on here are totally fantastic. I would have gone mental over the last month had I not been able to post on here. I feel in a bubble from the outside world and people going through this process are really the only people that know what it is like. I felt very bloated after Egg Collection. Rest, drink lots of water and lots of sports drinks. Good Luck for Egg Transfer.

Wendy - Think 300ml is average for stimmies. Think low is 150 and high is 450. They will have figured it out based on your own levels. Try not to worry. Things move faster when you are on stimmies.

Em - story about your dh made me laugh so much that my tummy hurt!!! It is hard for them to know what is going on and what they should do. I sat down with my dh before we went to both EC and ET to let him know what was happening/numbers/what to expect. We find out so much on here. He had no clue what good & bad numbers where - why would he!? Cannot believe that you are on 2ww already that is amazing

Cyot - hope scan goes well for you

Sally - hope that you have a safe drive to the UK & that the follies get growing. Everything that I have read says that they can grow in spurts.

Dania - very best of luck for ER tomorrow. Let's hope that after the sore tummy that you have lots of eggs inside all those follies. Drink loads of water & sports drinks afterwards to clear your system out

Lucybucy - may be they just want to be extra sure so check bloods everyday - don't worry - all our clinics have slightly different protocols

Lucy - what news of your scan hun? Have my fingers crossed that folly fairy is in action. Image

Vessi - sorry to hear about the cyst. So annoying but at least they are allowing you to proceed. Let's hope that it disappears

That is all for me. Can feel myself getting tired so know that I would be best to go & lie down.

Positive vibes Image and baby dust to everyone. We can do this!

Hi Carolyn,

Many thanks for the welcome. It made me feel a lot better that you said you were bloated too as you don't know what's normal and what's not. you must be just a few days ahead of me as i have the transfer tomorrow. i'm nervous but excited. like you I had 13 eggs and 8 fetilised but I guess I won't find out until tomorrow how many are still ok. I hope the next ten days go really quick for you!

Keeping fingers , toes etc crossed for everyone,

Hi all,

Am in a state of high emotions as the drugs begin to take they toll - already! I've only done 3 injections so far but yesterday moved up from 150ml Puregon to 225ml and am still on Buserelin. Today I've been feeling incredibly tearful and touchy  . It hasn't helped that OH has left today for a week long business trip!

Well, I had my first acupuncture session yesterday. I had electro acupuncture down my spine for 20 minutes (small electrical pulses are sent down the needles to give a greater effect to the acupuncture) and then afterwards various needles (not electro) placed on my chest, abdomen and legs for 20 minutes. She focused on my kidneys and liver (as these play a part in fertility apparently), producing good eggs and a general de-stress. I have to say that after only 20 minutes I felt so fresh and calm! It was completely painless and soooo relaxing. Obviously I don't know if it will improve our chances of a BFP but at £28 a session it seems worth a try to me :)

Brenda - it cheered me up so much to read your good news!!! Congratulations - I am so pleased for you!!

Carolyn - so glad to hear your ET went well. And that you were able to freeze so many too - brilliant! Your DH cooking made me laugh, mine is useless in kitchen too, am thinking of cooking a whole load of food in advance so that I don't starve after EC :D

Vess - Glad to hear things are back on track - how are you finding the stims so far?

Cyot - How did your scan go today? NHS is the UK's National Health Service - all treatment is free but it can be a bit pants sometimes, which is why I was so surprised by my gynae consultation - she seemed rather good!

LauraLou - I've never heard of Uterine Cysts either. I'm sorry you've had to delay but hopefully all will be back on track after your next scan - fingers crossed for you xxx

Wendy - Congrats on starting your stims! About your EC - my clinic does general anaesthetic as standard which I'm kind of pleased about as at least I'll be oblivious to what they're doing down there :)

Heather - Crikey - good luck with that 1.5" needle - let us know how you and DH get on...

Em - How's the 2ww going so far?? Your experience made me laugh :D

Sally - I'm at ARGC, bloody expensive but apparently highly vigilant - let's hope the price is worth it! All the best with everything while you're in London, (grow follies, grow!) I'll be thinking of you.

Tasha - welcome on board! All advice from your experiences of EC (egg collection) and ET (egg transfer) would be most welcomed by me :)

Dania - you've done so well - 30 follies?!!! Wow! All the best for tomorrow - the operation might be quite lengthy with all those eggs to extract

Danielle - good luck with your US tomorrow!

tlkmoser - good luck with your test tomorrow!

Sorry if I missed anyone - positive vibes to all :)
