Thanks Vessi! It is VERY exciting! Ummmm, your numbers seem pretty high also. When my Doc received my first test he said it could be two. When I asked him why he said that he responded that normally if the first HCG test is over 150 they suspect multiples considering your fairly early on, and you definitely are!! When is your first scan?

Oh, BTW, we transferred the five embies recommended by our RE yesterday. We sat and looked at each of our 20 fertilised eggs on a TV screen and discussed with the embryologist which ones were good and why - that was really interesting. Not all the ones we transferred were great quality, so we are hoping (and praying) for a BFP, but not multiple. And so I enter the dreaded 2ww. Still really bloated and fed up, though, but trying to feel friendly towards my 'gang'! We will hear today how many are viable for freezing.

(I'm glad you 2ww veterans are planning to stick with this thread)

Hi all,

First of all, my greatest condolences Natalie. You and your DH must have incredible strength and such a relationship to have made it this far. I hope you stay with us on this board. I hope the drs can get to the bottom of what's going wrong.

Sally - I am so sorry for your BFN, we don't seem to be having much luck on this thread do we? Sending a big warm hug your way.

Vess - many many congratulations! Well done chick. You will have to explain to me what all those dp/dt numbers mean...

Sofia - I read on my paperwork that my E2 levels were about 36,000 in the morning and about 17,000 on my second blood test in the afternoon. Surely this can't be right as these numbers seem a bit ridiculous to me - one too many zeros?. Mind you, it would explain the concerned look on everybody's faces... How many embryos did you have transferred, what did you decide to do in the end?

LauraLou - my buddy, glad to know your ET went well, how you feeling now?

Sarah - your EC sounds horrendous, you must be brave to have gone through it without screaming!

Em - my DH has gone away too - its horrible isn't it? He has to go away so he can earn more and then we can save for future IVF/babies (hope it's the latter). Like you say, it seems wrong for DHs to be away while we're supposed to be making babies... The Orange mobile network appears to have gone down so I can't even send him a text!

Hi Carolyn, your BFN isn't that far away so I'm not surprised you're still tearful. It must be really difficult if people at work don't know about it. I hope your birthday will serve as some sort of landmark so that you can start getting excited about your next go... not sure if that makes sense?

Hi Wendy - I'm wondering whether to test the day before my test date too. Only because I'll be on my own on the test day so it might make it easier to deal with if I'm at home. Not sure if any of my posting has any logical sense at all!

Jackoa21 - very strange about your 2 eggs, but that really is all you need to make a baby. Give us an update when you hear today, my fingers are crossed for you.

Prissy - really awful news about your friend, I'm so sorry. On a lighter note - congrats on the twins, amazing!

I've had two blastocysts transferred on Monday and I found the experience really quite moving, I couldn't believe that it was finally happening. They dimmed the lights for us so that we new when the dr was transferring the embryos and he took about 10 minutes doing it which was reassuring. I didn't get any information on grading, just a description - one was so big it was ready to burst it's shell (yay!) and the other was your bog-standard blasto. When I asked the nurse afterwards about dos and don'ts she said just to do as little as possible! She said that 95% of their patients stay off work until the test date so I decided to do that since I can take it as sick leave.

I'm now on baby aspirin, heparin injections and continuing with progesterone pessaries - yuk. The next day the clinic called to say one more embie had made it through to blasto stage (3 out of 15!) so we have had it frozen - yay!

The sad news is that DH left for Singapore last night (could he BE in further away?) and he'll be away until 4th July (5 weeks). Feeling sad that he won't be here for test date. His sister offered to go with me, which was kind but as we're not that close I think I would prefer to be on my own. I'll be needing you all even more over next 5 weeks...

Hi Sofia - you're a brave girl to transfer 5! I was panicking with 2! I too have been feeling rough and sleeping lots. Yesterday (7 days after EC) was the first day I felt a bit more energetic. The doctors explained to me that all those hormones are still coursing through my body which is why it's really important to rest and continue with the water and milk.. I am so bored of drinking water and milk!!!

jackoa21 - i am sorry to hear that you had only 1 of the 2 fertilized. I had 3, onlt 2 good and apperently it worked for me. I can understand your frustration with 1. Is there a way to freeze this one and do another fresh cycle and then have more to transfer. I really do not want to be harsh or discourage you, in the contrary, as I aid my only 2 good embryios seem to work. Just in case you think you don't have any other options, that is one.

Sofia- Yeeaahh, go embies, go!!! Wow, that's nice to see you little ones on TV. Hmhmhm, seems pertty advanced. Where do you go? In Sofia I assume, what clinick? I have a friend who is going to do IVF in Bg, I might recommend yours. I hope 2 stick and oyu have 2 healthy babies.
Uspeh i kysmet!!

LucyBucy, 11dp3dt=11 days past 3 day transfer.:) Your blasts seem very, very good uality. I smell morew tins here:):) it's good you are taking time off.
Also could you please add the pregnant ones in the list? I am so happy I will be dielighted to see my name witht the BFP next to it. We can also add the HCG numbers and if it is 1 or two, this way we see a relation. Mine so far are beta1: HCG=368

To everybody else- Baby dust and stay helthy to the preggo ones!

Jackoa - There are certainly stories on these boards of ladies who just had 1 to transfer and that was the one that landed them a BFP. Try not to give up hope. The little one must be a fighter to have got this far. Guess the main thing is to look after yourself so you get yourself ready. They will let you know how the little one is getting on and dividing. I certainly do not think that it is a waste of time unless the cells are not dividing well. Go for it. Be positive and just visualise that this will be the one. Hang in there. :D

Vessi - Posted on your thread but cannot hurt to say congratulations again. Hope that you had a lovely fab celebratory lunch with dh

Prissy - I cannot believe that our leading lady has not 1 but 2! That is terrific news. I was so sad to read the start of your post with the loss of you boyfriend - how very sad. Enjoy being pregnant and make sure that you take care of yourself. :D So looking forward to hearing how you get on. You cannot leave the May thread - you started it!!!

LucyBucy - I know how boring it gets with the milk & the water but sure that it will pay dividends for you. You are 1 week down in the wait already which is great. Hope that you are bearing up ok with dh away - 5 weeks - yuck - that is quite a long time. Think though what it will be like when he comes back home to you & your beanie. Your idea of making my birthday a land mark & a fresh start does work especially as my review appointment is the day after my birthday. Not looking forward to updating my signature. May be I shall just put 39+1! !!!! Think that I may well stay of work for my next try. Sure that you are making the right call by staying off. It certainly did me no good the day that I had to stay late at work, I could just feel myself getting stressed. Rest as much as you can. I am going to ask my clinic about 3 & 5 days as I had a 2 day this time around.

Sofia - 5 back. That is quite awesome and daunting all at the same time. Going to ask at my review appointment whether I am allowed to have 3 back next time as I will then be over 4-0. Plenty of rest. Pile up the chick flicks and watch as you sip more & more water. :D

Wendy - glad to see you pop back. Not too many days now for you. The only thing that I would say with HPT is that some ladies do get a false negative and then a +ve with the bloods. Never seems to happen the other way though. The longer that you can hang on the better.

Ilona - Good to have you back! Do let us know how your follow up appointment goes - what did you ask & what were they able to tell you?

Em - Happy Birthday for Monday. Hope that the party lifts your spirits.

Dania, Sally and Natalie - sending you girls big hugs

Off to my second accupuncture session this afternoon. Last week was pins in feet, hands, tummy and knees. The guy is such a cutie that it is an absolute pleasure just to go and see him. Have been trying to improve my diet even more - just chicken and fish for me now along with the no booze (nearly 2 weeks since I had so much a sip) and no caffeinine. Weight static rather than falling but do feel that my sugar levels are less up & down that they used to be. Still succumbing to a bit of chocolate - just cannot seem to give that up!

Baby dust to all.

It's strange, I thought I would be so excited after the transfer, but I feel sort of numb. None of this even feels real. I was so happy up until the ET, but now my emotions seem to have shut off. I almost feel depressed.

I had some cramping the day after the ET but no spotting. Other than a sore behind from the progesterone shots, I don't feel any different physically than I did a month ago. Perhaps that is part of the reason it doesn't feel real?

I'm usually a really upbeat, happy person, so the sudden change in mood is strange and a little unnerving.

Vessi- Congratulations! & thank you for explaining the code. I think I would be 3dp5dt.

LucyBucy- I'm glad your blastocysts looked so good! You are lucky you can take that much time off work. I only get 3 sick days for the entire year!

Jackie- I'm hoping your one embryo is a fighter. I can imagine how disappointed you must be.

Prissy- Congrats on the twins! How exciting.

Sofia- I'm glad your transfer went well. Good luck to you!

Carolyn- It is so nice to read your posts. You are so supportive and encouraging to everyone.

Best wishes!

Jackoa21 - hang in there, we're all rooting for your little one! You need to concentrate your efforts on recovering from EC so that you're ready and strong to carry it through for the next 9 months :)

Carolyn - glad to hear your acupuncturist is a cutie, must make that travel to Harley St worthwhile

LauraLou - my ET buddy, I too feel kind of strange, although not numb - I'm really anxious and a tight feeling has developed across my chest today. I've been chilling all day and am trying to do some relaxation and deep belly breathing but I'm finding it hard to stay focused and visualize my embies. I haven't had any cramping or spotting - nothing, so I'm with you on that one! Actually felt as if I was ovulating today as could feel my right ovary working and also had some discharge (sorry, tmi). Really odd. It is such a strange time I guess we can't expect to feel 'normal', and perhaps your numb feeling is your mind's way of dealing with everything that has been thrown at it lately. We'll get there together :D

Here's an updated list with the BFPs, hope I got it all down right Vess, it is v complicated to me! Sorry if I missed anyone.

Ilona - follow up app - 24th May
Hope4l - FET - 26th May
Jackoa21 - ET - 27th May
