I had my doc apt today. The Nuchal test results were combined with many other tests for an "integrated screening" result which said my babies do not have a risk of genetic defects or downs syndrome. Doc said based on all the results combined there is no reason to consider an amnio. So I think I can relax now!

I got to hear the hearts beat, which reminds me they are alive and well. I'm going to the hospital in 3 weeks from today for an ultrasound and will find out the sexs. I think I can wait 3 weeks! (Like I have any choice)

I finally went to a baby store last night. I didn't buy anything, but did look around. I ALMOST parked in the reserved parking spot for expectant mothers, but didn't know if I show enough to do that yet. :)

Hi everyone!

Mel, I so laughed when I saw your post. I am also huge and proudly trot around with my belly sticking out! I just love it. But, for 13 weeks, should I really be showingTHIS MUCH??

Sue - Hope you're enjoying your week off. I'm also hoping to take 6 monhts off with the baby. Hoping your blood pressure is settling. Are you getting head aches with it?

Krisiti - so glad there are more of us proudly sticking out our bellys. My dh is so excited to see it poke out. With 2 little ones you have a good excuse to poke it out with pride!!

Lisa - What a ridiculous thing for that person to say. Pooh on her! A lady at my work had both her girls in December and said it worked out wonderfully. (Beside, the Dec birthstone is beautiful!!) My first one (3 years ago) was due around Dec 18 and I've always held Dec babies close to my heart after that loss. I can't imagine a more enchanted time to have a baby. Ours is due Dec 6, but RE says he thinks it will come early. We are already thinking about making Christmas tree buying an annual B-day tradition!

Bella - I think it's the sweetest thing that you kiss your little scan. I admit I bought a little hand hled feta heart rate doppler (nothing like the TomKat US machine, and studies show it to be very safe). Hearing that little heart beat beating away brings tears to my eyes. They are so precious.

Traci - HOping your scan went beautifully. I have a big scan tomorrow for "1st tri screening" and the blood draw. So looking foward to seeing the little one on TV again!

Huge hello to everyone I missed!

Hi All,
Its always so great to read all your posts, make me laugh out loud ... but err are they supposed too!

Have decided will find out sex, will go nuts otherwise, its like having a huge juicy prezzie under the christmas tree that you have to look at every morning for 6 months and resist peeking! Not possible!

Are people thinking about when they are going to finish work?? Hard to know now how we are going to feel later.

Would love to take 9-12months off work, gotta make sure that lotto win happens though! Am going to enjoy every second looking after baby and coffee mornings with new mums ... okay every second of sleep deprived feeding and nappy washing ... crap day time soaps, and being housebound without a car to GET to those coffee mornings!

December is the absolute most amazing time to have a babies! I cant think of anything more fitting then looking forward to this christmas with a new and enlarged family! The things people say. So dumb ... AND ignorant. (bugger feel a rant coming on ...stop reading now if your already bored ...)

BUT as a related point, Kristi I related to the comments you made I have those moments of remembering the difficulty of the journey getting here and feel so grateful I could cry. I still get so mad and upset when I read other posts of all those of us still trying so hard and fighting all that disappointment.

Makes me mad that its not well recognised enough of a problem to increase funding and social recognition of how hard it is. In NZ they put 3 times the amount of funding into terminations ... so unfair, I have no issue with womans choice to terminate at all, but why cant they make the funding fairer? People have to fight so hard here just to have access to ONE ivf cycle here. And the UK is probably even harder with the good old NHS.

Sigh. Rant over. Gotta keep that blood pressure down (not being at work one sure way to reduce it ... good on you sue)

Hope all your headaches clear and everyone is well. Cant wait to hear news on latest scans

Hi Ladies

Sorry I haven't posted in a long while (and this one is a bit unstructured)  , needed some time off. But I've been on to see all posts.
I had a bad few days last week. Felt SOOOO sick! Image I believe it was a combination morning sickness (all day and worse in the evening) and my reaction to the antibiotics I had to take for bladder infection! Feeling better the last 2-3 days. Image

Before getting pregnant I was sure I didn't want to know the sex of the baby. Now, because I'd be the only one not wanting to know, and because it does make shopping and baby-names so much easier, I'm starting to reconsider. Probably will want to know.

My belly is HUGE! Image It has been for a while (in fact it stopped growing for almost 2 weeks and has re-stared again now). But I've just started to add on weight the last week and just 1kg.

Don't know about work, guess I'll stay until I can (most of my colleagues worked the day before labour). :? Here in Portugal we have 4 months off, or 5 months with same 4 months pay.

Don’t know much about details funding for IVF (there is funding, but don’t know if for more than one cycle), since the waiting list is 2 years long I didn’t even try! I’m 37, two years is a long time.

Kristi – Great news on Nuchal!!!!! Image Will be having mine (think it’s the same thing) next week. Haven't been able to buy anything baby-wise either. :?

Hi to everyone else, hope you have lovely weekend

I hope y'all don't mind if I post a question. I got a BFN on Wednesday!!! The beta level was 78. Went back Friday for the 2nd beta, which came back 120. The nurse said it wasn't as big an increase as they would have liked, but that some women are slow starters. I go back on Monday for a 3rd beta.

I am so worried. Did any of you have a hcg level that didn't double in 48 hrs? I am trying not to stress about it, as there is nothing I can do. I guess I will find out on Monday if everything is okay or not, but I would love to hear from anyone who faced a similar situation.

Thank you for your help!

Well, ladies, I bought something for the babies for the first time. Not a major purchase...but got a baby monitor that was on sale. Let the shopping begin!!!

I'm planing to work as long as I can. Even if I end up with bed rest because of the twins my work will allow me to work from home. But then I'm quitting work for good after I have the babies.

Laura Lou, congrats on your BFP! They checked my beta levels on that first pregnancy test and then never checked again. I think they did that because my level was so high. Sorry I can't offer advice. I'm sure everything will be fine though!

MLG, my sickness was worse in the evening too. At 14 weeks all of my sickness went away though. I now have my full energy back and feel great. Hopefully the same will happen for you. Good luck on the Nuchal!

Mel, what you said about funding makes perfect sense. Terminations are covered by insurance generally in the US, but generally not infertility stuff. It just doesn't seem fair.

Hello to everyone!!! Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Just wanted to let you know that any increase between 66% and 100% is fine, that's what most clinics look for although they always mention doubling. Not sure if yours falls within this range, have got to rush so sorry can't be of more help. but there is hope still

Kristi, Mel and Sue Congrats on being in the 18th week :D :D :D

All is well here. Had another scan last Thursday and everything is OK. Baby wasn't moving around too much..we had to jiggle my tummy but then she started to bend her knees and take her thumb in and out of her mouth. My doc thinks I am crazy because I am so worried I am not big enough...she keeps laughing. My skin today is like cr@p...all dry and yucky, I have a sty in me eye and my nose is also bothering me...I don't dare do anything social today. This afternoon I am doing home spa treatment..if anything will make me feel better. I am starting to wear my maternity lounging outfit...it is by Belly Button and is super soft cotton and so comfy!

I hope everyone is doing well 8) 8) 8)

Well happy Monday everyone. I am in a good mood because I just got off the phone with my IVF clinic and found out I have a nice credit balance that they are going to refund to me. Seems my health insurance paid for some of the scans afterall. Talk about pennies from heaven! Now I have to think of ways to spend it ... shouldn't be too hard..lol!

Glad to hear all of your little beanies are doing well. We are all so fortunate!

Mel - about work - I am going to work until I have the baby (assuming all goes well and I don't have to go on bed rest for any reason), then I am getting six weeks paid and I may take and additional 2 weeks out of my vacation time after that. My dh is self-employed in the construction industry and we are going to alternate work schedules. I am going to do 3 days in the office and one at home and he will work days I am home and weekends. We want to do as much as possible ourselves without getting a babysitter or daycare. How great that you get 4 months!! Wow!

MLG - so great to hear from you - welcome back! A friend of mine had bladder infections when she was pg so I know they are no fun. Glad you are feeling better.

Lauralou - congrats! I believe MLG had hcg levels that started low and didn't double (correct me if i am wrong, MLG) and now everything is fine and she has a healthy pregnancy. Try not to worry! :)

We had our first scan today at 8 weeks, we are having triplets. Our doctor said that he'll see us through our first trimester, but we have to find another doctor and hospital. They won't do triplets. We might end up having to take the train to the city which is 4 hours away. I hope we can find something closer!
As of June 6th, I'm 8 weeks, first scan yesterday. Triplets. Scarred out of mind!!
