Congratulations Lucy! I have worried about getting meat cravings as I hve been vege for 15 years! I do like the smell of chicken now but so far have resisted. You know you can't have soft cheeses don't you? Enjoy the food cravings now, I had them at that time and then a few days later struggled to find anything I wanted to eat! Everyone's different though. Now I am eating heaps!

Sammylou, when did your symptoms stop? Mine wore off quite a bit just after 9 weeks which really worried me. I would rather keep being sick! I still feel off in the mornings though (11 weeks) but not being sick anymore. I'm sure I'm getting a belly already though, is that normal? Or could it just be the quantity I'm eating?
I have not had the peeing thing at all yet either!

Can I ask everyone, when did you start to notice a difference in your bellies? Noone I know can remember!

Have a great weekend everyone

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't been on, its been a tough couple weeks and for some reason I stopped getting the emails! :( so I have a lot to catch up on...Lisa thanks for thinking of me!

Last week I had the reduction which was scary and painful and emotionally difficult and the end result in one healthy, happy, bouncing beanie! Then this week I had the cerclage put in and although I had a spinal for that the pain afterward was pretty unpleasant for a few hours....

So now I am hoping to begin enjoying my pregnancy!!! Welcome new girls - anyone moving to the second tri thread yet?? Last time I waited til 14 weeks to move....

How is everyone else??

Welcome aboard Lucy! I'm in my 8th week my numbers were also very high. And now here I am with triplets. My belly is getting big fast. The doctor said that I'll get big real fast and that I'll start feeling them move around alot sooner also. He also says no to amnio, too risky, I'm glad about that. Waking up in the middle of every night having to pee. Dry heaves once in a while, and no real cravings yet.
As of June 6th, I'm 8 weeks, first scan yesterday. Triplets. Scarred out of mind!!

Hi girls. Jessica - glad to see you are back! I am so happy everything went well with the reduction and cerclage. I imagine you feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders.

I think a lot of the girls have moved to the 2nd trimester thread already. I will be there at the end of this week.

I had a sad weekend. My 88 year old grandmother passed away. Although she was ill and had a long, wonderful life, it is still sad. My emotions have been in overdrive all weekend.

On a lighter note - I had my first "are you pregnant?" come to me from a friend's older sister who did not know I did IVF, etc. She noticed my "little belly" so she asked. Just in the past week I have really started to pop out - and I am only 12 1/2 weeks with one baby! I feel like it is too early to be showing - but I am enjoying it nonetheless. Kind of sad my grandma won't be here when he/she is born but I know she will always be with me in my heart.

I have my appt. this wednesday - ironically 3 hrs before the funeral. Not sure if I will get a scan or not - but I do plan on asking the doctor what I can do about these terrible headaches I have been getting for 3 weeks. They started the day after I stopped my progesterone shots - isn't that weird?

Girls, I am so happy you are all doing well and enjoying your pregnancies. Dottie - I still can't get over the thought of triplets. I look forward to hearing all of the details every step of the way!

Hello to Sammylou, Lucy, and everyone else. I am trying to name everyone from memory - and my brain is just not working today. Don't mean to leave anyone out.

:)

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I have been out of touch for so long. I have another scan this week 6/16 for the birh defects scan. It is interesting to keep seeing the baby every couple of weeks. Im sure my Dh is going to go through withdrawls when we get to the point where we don't have any more scans.

For the past 5 day, I have been so dizzy. Everything spins when ever I get up or anything. After the dizzy spell i get a headache. I am hoping this goes away soon.

Lisa I hope your headaches go away soon thats the worst! Did you call your doctor and ask?

Jessica glad to hear everything is going well!

I will move over to the second trimester section at he end of next week too!

Hello to everyone! wow about the triplets! thats great!

Big hugs!

Danielle

Dottie,

I have been on this board now for about 1.5 years...Last year I was pregnant with a precious baby boy whom I gave birth to stillborn at 20 weeks due to an incompetant cervix. So we went through IVF again to be surprised that we were pregnant with triplets...We had two embies but back and one split into twins....Unfortunately due to my history and after meeting with 2 doctors and a specialist in maternal/fetal health it was determined that there was no way I was going to be able to carry triplets, hell I had my troubles carrying one...On top of that I have spondylosis (I look normal) - but what this is a slippage of my spine in my lower back - another strike against carrying 3....SO we had to make the very difficult decision to have the twins reduced...It was a very difficult decision but the best in the interest of mommy and the babies...So now I just have one...To protect against my incompetant cervix they placed a Shirodkar Cerclage on my cervix - this should help my cervix remain closed until it is time...I understand you are carrying triplets! Congratulations - they may suggest a cerclage as a precaution to help keep your cervix closed, I really hope that you don't have to make the difficult decisions that we did....My cerclage was done at 12 weeks - i had a spinal for the procedure...I had some intense cramping for a couple hours after the spinal wore off but it got better and now I feel no different....YOur doctor should determine the best cerclage for you based on the position of the babies and other factors that may weigh in...

Jamato, Thank you very much, I understand now, I'm sorry about the dission that you had to make It had to be very hard. But I'm glad and I'll pray that everything works out for you. I will mention that to my doctor to see what he says. They have me at very high risk. But I'm still able to work for now. and I feel good.

Hi all,

Not much going on with me - waiting desperately for my first scan - I can't wait! My clinic aren't giving me a date yet, they're waiting to see how my HCG levels do first. My level was 6082 when I was 5 weeks and 4 days so still seem quite high to me but I guess still in the bracket for a singleton... I'm talking to them like there are two down there though, just in case

Lisa - so sorry about your Gran, my greatest condolences to you. I still miss my Grandma who died 2 years ago but she still remains such a great inspiration to me.

Terri - I think most people start to show gradually after 12 weeks? Correct me if I'm wrong... I've got a bump already but unfortunately it is all the fat that I put on from the stimmies, ha ha.

Jamato - sounds like you've been through a tough time with your still birth and now your reduction, as you say it was for the best though - now you've got the best chance ever! Congrats on moving to the 2nd trimester!

Dottie - triplets!! How exciting!!! Have you started thinking about names yet? Anyone got any good ideas?

Hello to everyone else - hope you're all feeling ok x

No we haven't thought about names yet, we might wait til we know the sexes, I do know that if one of them is a girl I'd like to name her Faith.

Hey everyone! Happy Friday. I am 13 weeks, 1 day today. I guess that means I am in my second trimester! Hard to believe!

I had an ultrasound on 6/14 -how exciting it was! My first two scans - at 6.5 weeks, and 7.5 weeks - all you could see was a peanut shaped "blob" with a little heartbeat. Well let me tell you how much things change!!

At 13 weeks you can clearly see all 4 limbs and the head and umbilical cord. You can even see the bone structure in the face - I am thinking this child will look like my dh - but he says it will look like me. It's fun to guess. He/she was moving around so much -even turned and stuck its little butt in view and "mooned" us. Guessing it inherited our silly sense of humor. Then put its little hands in front of its eyes as if to say "leave me alone I was sleeping!" I told my dh this child must be grumpy like him - lol!

I couldn't tell the sex yet - I believe it's still too early. At one point it spread its legs and I thought I saw something - but it could have been my imagination. I showed the pics to my family and they all had their opinions. My sis-in-law swears she saw proof it was a boy, yet my mom swears she saw proof it was a girl. We will found out the sex in August at my 20-21 week scan.

My next appt. is 7/11. The won't do a scan, but I will get to hear the heartbeat. The heartrate this past time was 144. I have gained 13 pounds since January!! I put on 7-8 pounds during the IVF drugs mostly because I couldn't work out as much. So it looks like I have gained about 5 pounds since I became pregnant. I am officially in maternity pants for the duration now.

Sorry this post is long - I just wanted to give all of you first time moms something to look forward too. It is so amazing to see your baby (or babies) on screen. I can't wait to feel movement!!

Have a great weekend ladies! :D

Lisa.

Welcome!!! It is amazing what you can see on those ultrasounds!!!! My little beanie last I saw (at 11 weeks) at the first scan he was bouncing all over, then they had me walk around and come back in two hours - so I had breakfast and when I came back and saw him again he was resting with one hand over his forehead and his legs crossed - as if to say he had such a tough day and was ready for a nap!!! I rented a doppler from dynamic doppler so I get to hear the heartbeat whenever I want - course sometimes its tough cause he moves! My next scan is next week on tuesday -I will be 14 weeks 2 days and of couse we will try to see what we can but we won't know for sure! After that not sure when the next scan will be - but I know I won't be waiting til 20 weeks -since I am high risk and that is when I lost my son I am sure they will be doing at least one scan between now and then!
