Hello everyone!

Vessi: I know your pain all too well, or I should say your worries. Even though I could see both of my little ones heartbeat from the very beginning I worry about something happening to one or both of them. I even told a little fib, just to get another ultrasound to see both of them. My next ultrasound date is June 27th and I keep telling myself if they're both okay then I'll try not to worry as much.

Sofia: Congratulations! I'm both nervous and excited to hear how many sacs you have. It's amazing how we all began this journey together and to hear of everyone's outcomes.

Don't worry too much Jackie - cramping is very normal during early stages - but I'm sure you know that. Some people actually worry that they have no symptoms at all. I guess being IVFers, we just know how precarious everything is and what can go wrong at each stage, so it is all much more stressful for us.

Well its officially BFP for me! We had a scan today - and saw ONE little beanie (well, small black round thing)! THANK GOD! I tell you, I haven't shed any tears at all this whole frustrating time, but I cried after finding out it was just one. I had really worked myself up thinking about selective reduction.... So the other four melted away. That makes me think I made the right choice transferring 5. My RE did say that it is extremely rare that anything more than 2 embies stick, and he was right!

So we are off to a posh restaurant this evening to celebrate! Not too much eating for me, though. I had another of those horrible Pregnyl shots (apparently will have one each week for the next 3 weeks), so not a lot of room in my trousers, and, happily, it can only get worse! :D

I'll start worrying about all the other things tomorrow...(symptoms of m/c, no heartbeat, etc... does it ever end?)

Sofia
:D :D :D :D Congratulations!!! happy and healthy 9 months! I am really hapy you did not have to face reduction. How saw the celebratuion? Come on, now you can eat. that's the only time in your life when you eat and not feel quilty.:):) i have been taking full advantage of it:) About Price- yes, everything in Bulgaria is cheper. When I go to visit, i fill one suitcase with clothes, shoes and just stuff that are so expensive in the USA.

Jackie- Cramping is OK. Your uterus is stretching and you feel it like cramping.

Em- Good Luck!!

Prissy- I do worry all the time but felt much better after I saw 2 HB on Monday. How is your weight gain? In 7wweks- +8lbs!! OOppsss...I am hunrgy all the time. i have this excessive salivation that makes me want to eat all the time. No morning sickness, nothing else, just watering mouth and hunger.

Baby dust to all!!

Sofia, I am so happy for you!! CONGRATULATIONS!! You're right, you definitely made the right decision to have 5 of them placed!! Isn't it sad that the worrying doesn't stop here??

Jackie, I've always been told that cramping is normal unless its accompanied by bleeding.

Vessi, you know I don't have any morning sickness either. I am 9 weeks and 4 days and I have gained about 7 pounds. My only real symptoms are I get really shaky if my blood sugar gets too low, and I am lightheaded and/or dizzy from time to time. I also have an occasional bought of queaziness but no vomiting.

Thanks for the congrats everyone!

I'm a bit confused about the week thing - according to 'reality', fertilisation took place on 21 May, which was EC day. So according to that, I am 4 weeks. But on pregnancy calculators, it says I am 5 weeks and 3 days. I know they add on a week in 'normal' pregnancies, but since the exact dates are known in IVF, which do we count from? Anyone know?

I am a little worried now.. They did the first beta and it was 183 they wanted me to test 4 days later (so they wanted the next one to be 732) well we tested a little early like 3.5 days.. so that still should have been around 640 well my # was 596. The nurse said she was not worried and she wanted me to test again.. I need some PMA should I be worried..
Love and hugs
they want me to test again on Sunday....

Sorry laides I had a mini hormonal meltdown there.. I dont know what happened but I was so focused on the "your #'s should have doubled twice" that when I fell short I freaked.. I will blame it on the hormones.. The nurse reassured me when I called back and I posted on here which everyone said increasing #'s were good.. Darn internet sites (other than this one) they just make statments like "betas should double" well sometimes they dont and that is ok....

Thanks for letting me rant and freak out.. You guys are the best

Jackie,
I am sure your little fighter is fine. It went through so much, he/she will not let you down now.
I takes 48 to 72 hours to double. the numbers a high, going up with an average speed. Give your fighter a break, he needs to slow down a little bit after all that fight:)
Many hugs!!!!! We are with you!!!
