not sure if I'm using the right acronym but I meant intra-muscular when I used IM. Maybe I should have used TBSO for the Big Scary One, haha

Hey Raquel,
TBSO. Thats awsome. I thought of what it was at like 10 pm last night while I was trying to go to sleep. I'm very slow on getting all the acronyms. Mine are going well. They look big and scary, but I don't really feel it. I have alot of cushion back there though. he he. Thanks

Hello everyone,

I have been visiting this forum for a while and finally decided to join.

I too started Lupron this month [June 9th] and I start my stims tomorrow[June 30]! You are right, the IM needles are TBSO!! I am so scared for tomorrow morning. I will be taking Repronex. It comes in a powder and I have to mix it---that seems wierd too! I am also doing the Follistim Pen, but I think I can handle that, doesn't seem any scarier than the Lupron.

LM,
I am in the same boat as you--insurance doesn't cover a dime!!Luckily I got some of the meds from my dr's office--he had some free samples--I priced them on my insurance site--saved me over $2,000!

I think a lot of us are on the same schedule--I will have my retrieval and transfer the week of July 9th--anyone else around then??

Happy poking!

Hello All

Post by lm »

Hi everyone...I have been off of the computer...just trying to stay busy and distracted. My baseline is Monday! Yeah! I am ready to start the big drugs!!!

Amanda- Welcome...I think I am a week behind you. I should start the stims next Saturday, July 8th (If I get the green light on Monday). You will have to keep me posted on how things go for you. Good luck!

Jordan- Good luck with the stims. keep us posted. Did you say your DH was on Clomid and having hot flashes? Can I ask what the situation is there....I didn't think men could take Clomid???

Rileydee- How are you? How is your sister? She started stims, right? How is she responding to them?

Ani- Welcome....I was very nervous about the shots, but so far, so good. I am anxious about the PIO shot. That is a BIG SCARY NEEDLE. I do all of the sub Q shots myself, but my DH will have to give the IM shot.

Racquel- How was the transfer? How many did you put back? What was there condition? (I can't remember, how many eggs did they get from ER?) I am sending lots of baby dust, glue, and prayers your way!!!!! Give us something positive to start with!!!

Okay....keep us all posted!!! Have a great holiday weekend!

The Follistim pen is actually better then the lupron.. but the med itself may burn a little for a min or two... Good luck...

IM.. Yep my DH is on Clomid... He has had some low cout issues over the years so DR put him on Clomid (it is supposed to help sperm count and quality... He is also taking Zinc, and L argenine and B complex.. In dec he had a count of 11.6 and then in May his count went to 33.9 (that was from the zinc and L argenine... wooohooo so that is the scoop on the Clomid.. lol Hey IM.. and good luck on Monday for your baseline..

well off to jab myself with Lupron.. YIPPIE!!!!

Hello!

Amanda-- I am pretty much on the same schedule as you, but I am doing a FET cycle. I go monday to see how my lining is coming along and if all is well then they will schedule my transfer the week of the 10th!! I also noticed you are from MO. I am across the river from you in KY!!

There is a July thread going on the main board if any of you want to jump back and forth!!

Good luck to all!!

Hey ladies,
Lm, I was wrong before, my sister doesn't start stims til the 5th. But It is going well. I got her and her two little ones and my mother an awsome place to stay where they have to be there in a couple of weeks (she lives 6 hours away from the clinc). Her dh has to work and can't go with her unfortunately. My dh and I work full time, but don't make that much, but we were very fortunate to get some help from dh's grandma. Also, my grandfather passed in March and left us some $. What a legacy huh, if it works? I called my sisters house the other day and my 7 year old niece answered the phone. I told her I was finding a place for them to stay, and she said, You know it has to have a pool right? Little bossy one. I luv her though.
Jeck- its great to see you here!

Everyone else, I hope you are all doing fabulously!

Hey!

Rileydee-- glad all is well for you and your sister!! My nephews have the same view on the pool situation!! Have to stay where there is a pool!! Its great that you have family donations to the fund. I sure do hope this work this time and sticks because we are out of funds for the time being...

Jordan and Amanda-- I'm not far from Paducah KY. So I am about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs away! I love to go to the Cheesecake factory when I visit St Louis and my butt gives that away!!!

Hey girls,
I hope it works this time to, and that we can get some frozen embies, cause if it doesn't work this time, we will have enough for the FET, but do not foresee being able to afford it anytime after that. Look at all of you MO girls. I don't know if I belong here anymore. hee hee

Rileydee... I am with you on praying for some extra to freeze... cause we only have enough ins to cover 1 IVF and maybe a FET... everything crossed for you... (well I am not originally from MO so you fit in just fine.. lol)

Amanda.. St Lukes is soooo close to me... I was going to DR Silber there but decided on a different DR... (and I LOVE him) I sure hope the Cards do win.. we need it... I LOVE the new stadium.. my 9 YO and DH went to a tour of it for girl scouts back in May.... PHEW on the IM shot...

Jeck.. I have only lived here a few years so I am not too sure where Paducah KY is.... OH there is a new Cheesecake factory at the Mall close to us... Very very bad for my butt.. LOL

So my follistim shot hurt sooooooooo bad tonight... SHEEESH...not sure what heppened.. but I think I am going to ice it from now on...

Tonia,
Do your Follistims always hurt? Do you use the pen? I don't even feel mine--the needle or the med going in...Do you give it in your belly?

The Cards lost :( --and to Kansas City-I thought we had it in the bag--we left early--it was tied forever--just kept on going and going.

I see Dr. Pearlstone at St. Lukes. I've heard a lot of good things about Silber, and he wrote a book and everything, but I talked to a patient of Pearlstone's and that just made me more comfortable going to him.

Are any of you other ladies on Repronex?? Those shots did not hurt during injection, but my hiney is sore all day like a stiff muscle! Is that with all IMs??

There are a lot of July cycles--good luck to EVERYONE! I can't wait till my 2ww--I think I'm gonna make a ticker when I get to that point--making a ticker feels like an initiation as a real poster or something--haha!
