Amanda... I have a friend that used Dr Pearlstone, she has a 10 YO and a set of 1st grade twins.. I have heard great things about him.. (so sad about his son though)
I didn't like Dr Silber.. I didn't feel like he listened to me.
I use Dr Peter Alhering and I LOVE him.... He listens to me and his office staff is awesome.. His Brother Grorge did all my IUIs.. lol
UGH on the Cards... we watched the end of the gmae.. it sucked.. lol
Oh crud.. my DH (working today) just called.. we totally forgot about the Parade today.. lol

I too am in the STL area (although I live in IL, work in MO) and I went to the crappy, long Cards game Friday night as well.
My doc is Dr. Chang at Wash U. So far I am pleased with her but am still in the beginning stages where I spend so much time talking to her nurses and office staff instead of her. So far, so good though. They are all very nice and patient there.
Just finished painting what will be the nursery (or default to the spare bedroom if BFN). How exciting...I can't think of anything else no matter how hard I try.
But, I'm still scared. Please let this be it!

I can't believe how many of us on here are form this area.. Crazy....
Dione... I know it is hard to think about other things... for some reason I am really calm about this... I guess after 8 years of faild cycles (this is the first IVF though) I just don't expect anything to work.. lol
I see my Dr all the time.. The only time I did not see him was when I went in to review my Calander with my nurse.. My last Dr though had his "infertility" nurse do everything... I did not see him at all... she even did the sperm washing and the IUI.... I thought that was odd...
well I think we are going to Grant farm today... before DH gets paged into work again...lol

Hi Everyone!
Boy I don't know where I've been, took me ages to catch up on all the posts in this thread - I love it!! I've had some trouble w/ "mild" OHSS since ET last Thursday, but feeling much better now. Put back 2 grade-A 8-cell embies and was lucky enough to have 5 other decent ones to freeze. I even got to look at them under the microscope, so cool! I've named one of the embies Henry - don't know why, just stuck with me, my DH thinks I'm insane (he's not far off).
I liked the Follistim pen (compared to mixing others like Repronex) and only had trouble with one stick - I still have a nasty bruise from it. Must have hit the wrong spot. For some reason I did all the Luprons in my belly and all the others in my upper thigh. The PIO (in the hip/bottom) isn't so bad going in if you follow the "ice-rub-heat" routine, but think we got lazy with the rubbing part the other day and it all settled in one knot, hurt pretty bad. So make sure DH rubs it in, will give him a little sport for the day, haha.
Looking forward to hearing more about your stimms, EC and ET procedures, it's a busy/exciting time right before you have to mellow out with 2ww - ahh the highs and lows

I'm due to start Lupron on July 18 and will go in for scan on July 28. ER tentatively scheduled for week of 08/06.
I am dreading the muscle shot. I mean DREADING. My doc says that it must be given between 6-7pm and I am typically at work during that timeframe. This means I will have to give it to myself in the leg instead of DH giving it to me in the cheek. I'm hearing everyone say how painful it is and I won't even be in the comfort of my own home. I keep telling myself that it will all be worth it and that none of it can be worse than childbirth (of course I was a mere 21 almost 10 years ago the last time I delivered).
It will be fine...I keep saying it over and over.

The Menapour was easy tonight.. I iced before the shot (as I do with follistim now) and felt nothing.. PHEW....

I do a little more Follistim tonight and some more menapour and then tomorrow my last Lupron shot and the HCG shot (SUB Q.. wooohoooo)

She's doing great. I just talked to her and she had an appointment for u/s today. After that they told her she was good to go to start taking her stims, so she had her first shot today. Man, I'm so excited!! She said it didn't hurt at all, so I feel better, cause I was worried. I don't know what those stim pens look like, how big they are.

Congratulations! I am so happy to hear that you are ready to go and that you could be announcing a BFP in no time at all. I'm only a few weeks from starting the meds and just a quick month from the anticipated ER so I am excited to hear how it all goes for you.
Yes, our DDs are very close. Mikaela will be 10 in August and entering the 5th grade. She JUST made the cutoff. We spent today at Raging Rivers...ever been?
I'll be thinking of all of you who are entering the next stage over the next few days. May we all be blessed with what we have worked so hard to achieve...one little bundle (or two...or three...or...).

Rileydee.. That is great news that your sister's shot did not hurt.. the pen looks like a big blue shoarpie marker... LOL then you put a little needle on the end and dial up the meds and that is that.. really easy... tell her to ice first and then she wont feel a thing.. I can't wait to hear how it all goes with you...
