Hayley's sister-in-law advice about clots causing bleeding

Post by langton »

Hi Ladies,
can any one give me any advise to pass on to Hayley tonight.
She was in bad pain this morning and bleeding.
A scan at hospital revealed her twins are still alive and doing well but one had a blood clot next to it and it was causing bleeding.
All very frightning to Hayley obviously she thought the very worst we all did.As any of you ladies ever experienced any thing similar and can you give any adice which I can pass on to Hayley.
This evening bleeding seems to be stopping it as turned a brownish colour.
But any similar or the same stories/ advice will help.
Thanks
Donna

Hi Donna,
Bleeding is pretty common in the 1st trimester- I bled until I was 12 weeks, brown discharge, turning red twice, but my lil one was safe..
Passon my best wishes to hayley and tell her not to worry and just put her feet up- twins means double the rest..will be keeping her in my prayers..

cheers,

Hi Smita
thanks for your reply,
I will pass on what you have said to Hayley, she is spending the night in hospital, though we have been told babies are ok.
More or less in case any further bleeding occurs then the experts are at hand.Today as been a really frightning day, when it all started this morning we all obviously thought the worst.
I suppose it proves that just because bleeding starts it dose not neccessarily mean the worst.
I just keep trying to think positive and look forward to their birth, they will be my first nieces / nephews and will simply mean the the world to our hole family.
Thankyou again only best wishes for you

Hi Donna
Sorry I can't give any advise on bloodclots but I did have bleeding during my first tri. It's the worst feeling ever I know, but tell her to try not to worry. As Smita said, she must rest lots. It is very common. Everything with me was fine.
Please pass on my best wishes and hope to hear from her soon.

Please tell Hayley that I'm thinking about her.

If it's what I think it is, it's very common - I know that will not help things much. When I was pregnant with my son, I had the same. They called it a haematoma (spelling?) which was basically implantation bleeding. Implantation can be quite stressful and sometimes it naturally pulls away a little - this is what forms the blod clot. With Sam, I had red bleeding, brown bleeding, clots, pain - it's horrible and stresssful. Apparently a lot of women get it, some are just lucky that it is naturally absorbed into the body without them even knowing. If it is that, it will go away - I bled on and off with Sam until about 14/15 weeks and then it just tailed off...

I'm now 15 weeks pregnant again and the same thing has happened, but to a lesser degree. I seem to have some sort of brown discharge every day and have been just as stressed this time as last - especially as it seems to be going on forever.

The good thing is that's she been checked and all is ok. Just tell her to take it easy and try and stay positive. If it is that, I was told it has to come out, so restricting movement just delays it a little. It's easy for them to say and not so easy to take on board!!!

Best wishes - just tell her to keeping thinking about what is gong on in there - big changes

P.S I remember being told once that there can sometimes be more bleeding with twins as your insides can become more aggrivated easily - that was the jist anyway!
