Please tell Hayley that I'm thinking about her.
If it's what I think it is, it's very common - I know that will not help things much. When I was pregnant with my son, I had the same. They called it a haematoma (spelling?) which was basically implantation bleeding. Implantation can be quite stressful and sometimes it naturally pulls away a little - this is what forms the blod clot. With Sam, I had red bleeding, brown bleeding, clots, pain - it's horrible and stresssful. Apparently a lot of women get it, some are just lucky that it is naturally absorbed into the body without them even knowing. If it is that, it will go away - I bled on and off with Sam until about 14/15 weeks and then it just tailed off...
I'm now 15 weeks pregnant again and the same thing has happened, but to a lesser degree. I seem to have some sort of brown discharge every day and have been just as stressed this time as last - especially as it seems to be going on forever.
The good thing is that's she been checked and all is ok. Just tell her to take it easy and try and stay positive. If it is that, I was told it has to come out, so restricting movement just delays it a little. It's easy for them to say and not so easy to take on board!!!
Best wishes - just tell her to keeping thinking about what is gong on in there - big changes
