Hi Vickie

Please don't worry about the injections. I'm almost 3 weeks into the downregging and they really aren't that bad at all. I was a bit like you and nervous about it but once you have done the first one its easy! I cried after I had done the first one, with relief as it was nowhere near as bad as I had imagined! :) Now I'm a dab hand!
Good luck though and feel free to PM me if you want to chat. I'm a little ahead of you but if I can help at all I will.

Just got back from my Ultrasound

Post by samandaw1 »

I just got back from my ultrasound. I think it went well or at least that is what my husband said. I have 12 eggs, which sound good but I had 16 the time before. Can they keep reducing. I also heard ICSI ruins about 20% of them when they do the procedure. It looks like I have a lot but I am OBSSESSED with freezing. It is the one thing that is getting me through. It makes me feel better knowing if it does not work I would not have to go through all the injections again. I am probably focused on the wrong thing.

Anyhow, My transfer maybe be earlyier than expected. Possible this Saturday rather than Monday or Tuesday (which is what they have been saying)

As I read all the forums I can't imainge what all of you have been through. I have to say though, reading the forums, people do get pregnant. Maybe it takes3,4,5 times or maybe it is the time when just one egg is retrieved but there is enough success stories out there to keep on trying. (eaijsy for me to say as this is my first time)

Hang in there and I really really am sending positive energy to you alll

Hi Ladies--I'm new to the board and will be undergoing my 1st cycle of IVF in August. I'm becoming nervous as the time comes closer. The shots really make me nervous, but from what I have read, they aren't that bad. Good luck to all of my August buddies! I'm hoping for BFP's for us all!

Wannababy1229,

I know how daunting it can be on the first IVF. I remember been very scared of everything. I promise you it is nowhere nearly as bad as your imagination can sometimes allow.
I am about to go and do my 4th full attempt and weirdly I am very calm about it. The injections don't bother me, the needles are so tiny and as long as you can pinch a litttle bit of fat on your tummy, you don't feel a thing. I don't think I could inject into my thigh though like some do.
I always do both my injections same time every day at 5pm, just before I start cooking dinner. It keeps me focused.

You will be okay, I promise. We are all here to help you.

Nickii,

WAVE back at you....

Sam,

12 eggs are excellent. Still above average. They will probably find more when they get in there, they nearly always do.

Good luck to everyone else...hope there's loads of PMA out there....

DH mess up

Post by samandaw1 »

I have come a long way. My husband gave me one of my injections this morning (one of four today) and forgot to put the medication in it. He was so scared to tell me that I just laughed.

I have come a long way if I am laughing about an extra injection (today five) when only last week I was crying about getting one because I was so scared. I guess it is all realitive and always good to put thing in perspective.

toothpaste

Post by samandaw1 »

I have found that putting toothpaste on misquito bites really take the itch away. Are we not allowed to use DEET?

No worries about the laughing, that is why I posted it. You should have seen my poor husbands face. Anyhow, I got flowers later for an apology. This whole process is bringing us closer. I can't imagine how close we will get once he starts icing my butt (my least favorite part of my body).
