Sam, thanks so much for the encouraging words! I needed them for sure. I am better today but have yet to do any injections. I heard so many negative comments about Menopur but in the week I've been taking it, yesterday was the first issue. Guess I'll have to try the ice.
Thinking about taking some time off work but wanted to get my BFP first so I can celebrate with relaxation. It will all come together.
U/S and blood draw tomorrow, hopefully I'll get a tentative date for EC. That will help ease my mind...
IT"S FRIDAY! Relax, have a long bath (which helped me last night), cuddle with your honey. We're getting there...!

Hi Dione,

I'm sorry you are having problems with your injections. I also was on Menopur. I was taking 6 ampules from day one and had to continue for 13 days - not the 12 they said! In a way I'm lucky as I'm an insulin dependant diabetic. I already have to injection 4 times a day so am used to the injections.

I find if I inject into my belly it doesn't hurt as much as my tighs although it is best to alternate sites, sometimes you can end up with little lumps under the skin and this will mean the injection won't be getting to where it needs to go as quickly as it should.

You end up with bruises if you've clipped a little blood vessel. Unfortunately we can't tell we are doing this until the bruise appears! Also, if you are inserting the needle slowly try and do it a little quicker as this won't hurt so much.

I was really lucky with the menopur as I didn't get any side effects. I'm on gestone at the moment and this really is a killer!

Best of luck to you.

Dory I'm so so sorry to hear about your BFN. There's nothing I can say it make it easier but I am thinking of you.

All the best to the rest of you where ever you are in your tmt.

Jo

Thanks, Jo. My DR has me doing all three injections in the belly and didn't offer up the thigh as an option. I haven't had one bruise so I guess I'm doing something right! You are right, I do need to do it more quickly. I tend to sit with the needle in my hand and fret until I ease it in...I'll work on fixing that per your advice.
Glad to hear you are doing well. It gives me hope!

If you place your thumbs in your waist band and let your hands drop onto your tummy - that whole area is good for injecting. I know some bits of my belly are more painful than others, trial and error I'm afraid. By the time you know where's a good spot for you hopefully you will have finished. Try pullying the skin up slightly where are you going to inject - helps me. I have to wiggle my toes when I do my gestone which is going in at the top of the buttocks, this relaxes the muscle. Don't know if it works with the belly but you could try - kind of a mind over matter.

Just think, you're half way there!

Hi Ladies,

I am also on the Menopur and it does sting. I hum while injecting and that seems to help!

I went in for an u/s today and the DR said everything looks good. I have seven follicles and four that look like they are going to make it to retrieval. I am now retrieving on Wed or Thurs of next week. Yeah.

Good luck to all this month and let's try and stay positive. The closer it gets to retrieval, the more nervous I am.

Necole, congrats! You are almost there!
I used ice before injecting today and OMG...it helped SO much. Thanks to you all for the tips...the ice will certainly help me through the remaining weeks.
Blessings to you and PMA! PMA!

Pat,

You and I are on the same day. I had my ET on Weds also. When do you test? I go in next Thursday and next Sunday. My clinic does not give the results until the SUnday BW to make sure that my numbers rise. YIKES!!

I have had some bloating but it has gone down a bit. THe doctor told me it would continue due to the progesterone and the estrogen (I just started estrogen patches). Not to worry.

Good luck with your BFP! Wishing you good thoughts.

Sam,

I'm doing a home test on Monday 14th hopefully, so I've still got a while to sit here with me legs crossed. My tummy feels better this morning, but at least I know now what causes it, so thanks for that.

Good Luck with your BFP also.

You Guys are amazing!!!!

Thank you so much for all your support and kind words.

We are starting to feel a bit better, to be honest we are getting use to the bad news and beginning to think it's not mean't to be.
We have 4 frosties left so we are going to use them and then most likely say enough is enough...... There is only so much heartache we can take!!!!!

We have already decided we are going to adopt whichever way it turns out, but we have to wait till we get back to England to do that, as we don't have enough time left living over here to do all the proceedings.
We also intend on fostering.

We have got 1 year left over here after we have done our last FET, so we are going to enjoy it and travel when we want, and do whatever we want when we want to without IVF dictating when we can do things. We have been in IVF world since we got here, so we need some fun!!!!!

Thank you all again for your words of encouragement, it has mean't so much to us both.

Good luck to you all
Hugs
Rachel OXO

Rachel (Dory)

I really take my hat off to you sweetheart. You have showed so much strength considering all you have been through. You truly deserve to mother a child and you will in whatever form it takes, adoption or biologically or fostering. I've been through the mill a little and suffered a few miscarriages and managed to keep my spirits together as I believe deep down I am already a mother, just one without a baby and that is you too. I thought I was strong until I read your journey. You my love should be very proud of how you have survived so many bad turns and still remain so focused.

Also thanks for finding the time to support others aswell. Your time will come Rachel, I promise.

Hello Ladies!
Had blood and u/s today and all is looking good. I have 10 good follies and another 15 that are seen but not yet big enough to measure. They say I am just where I should be. Going back Monday...best guess for EC at this point is Thursday or Friday. I can't believe it's almost here!
Blessing to you all,
Dione
