Susan, hope you don't me butting into your 1st T thread. I was browsing around and noticed your post. I know exactly what you are talking about...the dark brown old blood that you get before you actually start your period, right? Don't be alarmed. If it's dark brown then it's old blood, which generally is never a problem. If you had bright red blood or blood clots, then you would have more reason to worry...BUT, I had bright red gushing blood at 12 weeks and nothing was wrong at all. And many women bleed red blood and don't miscarry. So your brown old blood is probably nothing and people all over these threads have said that.
Put your feel up tonight and relax. Don't do anything strenuous. That will put your mind at ease, and won't hurt your body to relax either. I bet you find out tomorrow at your apt that everythign is just fine!

hi Ladies, hope you don't mind me joining you all.
Susan, I too had a bleed similar to yours. I panicked and ended up in A&E last week. All was fine. Brown blood is nothing to worry about and the dr didn't even bother examining me.
I am 6weeks 4days today and we saw the heartbeat for the first time! What an experience. DP and I shed a few tears. I know there is a long way to go but I have finally allowed myself to get excited!!! Really can't believe that all is going well and that I am actually PG!!
Looking forward to sharing the next few months with you

I went to clinic today and they took blood told me to rest and do nothing for few days. They have just phoned with my levels and they have gone up now at 7287. They said the levels are good for this stage but they have not gone up as much as they would have inticipated. To go for a scan at 7AM tomorrow and depending how that goes will have IVIG for my NKC's ( immune problem).

Congrats! Welcome to the 1st trimester thread. Wasn't it wonderful to see the heartbeat ? I cried also.
We had our 1st trimester screening yesterday. All went well, and we should get the results next week. We also got to hear the heartbeat
for the first time!! WOW, that was great!
Susan: Good luck with your appt. tomorrow.
Vita: How did your appt. go today? How are you feeling?
Take care all,

Gail~~WOW you do have a miracle baby!!! Thats so wonderful...Just goes to show all you need is one
Anna~~ welcome to the thread and CONGRATULATIONS On the BFP!!!! So glad we can share this journey with you!
Susan~~ i think almost all of us have had some brown bleeding, the only thing my doctor said was as long as its not red and continous with cramping there is nothing to really worry about. But i just hope you feel better you should definitly try to relax kick your feet up and relax!!
Tammy~~ So happy you were able to hear your babe's heartbeat!!! how wonderful..... what exactly do they do for the 1st trimester screening?? Im having it done next thursday at 13w4d, i think its kind of pushing it but doctor didnt have any sooner appointment available.
I had my appoinment with the perinatologist yesterday everything seems to be doing well, they drew alot of blood to check for anitbody-s and a whole bunch of other things. Also had an ultrasound, so far all of the babes look great! they all have grown to different sizes compared to the last visit we had. but i guess its normal because the doctor did not look worried at all he said they are doing good. Im having the Nucheal fold translucency done next week and im kind of nervous. I just think at every test and procedure i become so nervous!!! its probably normal. Im sure everyone feels the same way.
Don't worry about the 1st Trimester Screening. First we met with a genetic counselor who explained our screening and testing options. She also showed us my risk of having a baby with downs, based on my age alone. It is 1:63. Then we had an ultrasound which was enjoyable. We got to see our baby moving and hear the heartbeat. They measure the fluid collection at the back of the baby's neck. You want it to be < 2.5mm. Our measurement was 1.2 mm. Then the nurse drew blood. The blood test results and the nuchal scan results will be evaluated to tell me my new risk of having a baby with genetic abnormalities. If you test "screen positive", they may recommend a diagnostic test such as CVS or Amnio. I should get my results sometime next week.
I'm glad to hear that your appt. went well.
Take care all,
Tammy

Susan I hope everything went ok with your scan this morning. Have everything crossed for you.
Gail - wow that's fanstastic only one put back - it's definately a fighter! I'm trying to get Emma to like Millie rather than Minnie - we've got a bit of time to convince her Minnie isn't a good name!
Racquel how's things going with you? Bored senseless yet? lol Hope all is well.
Anna welcome and congratulations with your BFP. It is wonderful when you see that heartbeat, a moment that no one can describe. Enjoy your pregnancy.
DV glad everything went well with the perinatologist. Has that relaxed you a little or was that a silly question? lol you got to have another scan, you lucky thing, you seem to be seeing them every week!!
Tammy your measurement sounds good. I've got my nuchal fold on the 1 September. Getting nervous, although the odds are 1 in 297 they were only 1 in 800 at my last pregnancy!
I was the midwife on Thursday. She's really nice, she remembered me from Emma and Jodie I think I saw her a couple of times. Because I'm diabetic I'm high risk so tend to go to the hospital for my appointments rather than in the community. I told her my worries and she said a c-section won't be a problem especially as the last birth was a section and I've had a baby with shoulder dystocia so that's a relief.
I've been booked in for my anomally scan for 26 October. I have all my forms for the relevant blood tests. I should be getting an appointment to see the antenatal diabetic team and the consultant for the next couple of weeks. I've got my pregnancy notes book and all the leaflets, it just feels all so real now!
Hope everyone else is ok and have a fantastic weekend - sun is out for a change!
Speak soon

As you will probably remember from the posts on here, the majority of us recently who have had scans at around 6 weeks could only see the sac and nothing else. It was only when we went back at 7 weeks we could see the heartbeat. So I hope you aren't going to be worrying too much - easier said than done!
Make sure you just rest in these next few weeks. Watch some good dvd's, read a book etc!
Take care

OMG I've just measured my bump with toilet paper - told you I'm big - I'm 9 1/2 sheets already! I'm probably bigger than most of you to start with (I was a size 14 before treatment) but 9 1/2 sheets!! I think I'm going to suffer!!

How many sheets were you before hand!!! You really made me and DH smile today. Thank you also for your kind words earier. But your right it is hard not to worry but am trying to keep mind off it. I would not have minded if the doctor had not told me that he should have seen the yoke sac at this stage he should have kept his mouth shut!!!!!!! Also having access to loads of info on the internet is also a bad thing. D/h has band me from looking anything up. Having said that there are lots of positive as lots of people see nothing as well. So i am staying positive. I just wish tue was tommorow!!!!!!!!

Susan how are you feeling today. I know it must all be so scary but as Jo said there are a lot of people on here that had the same problem at the first scan and then went on to have a perfect scan. Your DH is sensible to ban you from looking things up on the internet mine did the same
Jo I have just measured myself and I am 7 1/2 sheets. Before I started IVF i was an 8/10 but since all the drugs I went up to a 10/12 no idea how many sheet before hand though, never tried it!!!!
Hi to everyone else and there lovely bumps. I have just put my photo on photobucket, I seem to have rather a large bump considering I am only 9 weeks and its one baby, I am more than happy to show it off though, I have wanted a 'bump' since i first started TTC in 1995 so im very proud of it.
