Good afternoon all.

Just a quick post to let you know that I have got the green light to start my stims tommorow so Aunty it is all go with the stars. Apparently my bloods were all ok. The clinic are slightly concerned about the number of hours I work, especially as I work till after midnight most days and my clinic appointments are at 7.30am. I am on strict orders to go to bed every afternoon while we are closed, which means not spending hours on this board, although I am sure that just poping in to say hi before bed is alright.

Good luck to everyone else. I have just had a skim through the posts from today and it seems like it has been a busy one.

Speak to you all later

I too am at the menopur stage and have found the mixing easier as you go along. I too may have over reacted when i saw what we had to do, and i think even my DH suggested i was being over dramatic - saying - let me get the needle into you and bob's your uncle! lol
My DH does calm me down in a lot of scarey/confusing situations, he is my rock :)

Anyway - enough of him (lol)

I went for my scan this morning, and from what ive read in the posts, i seem to be doing ok already too :D I had 4 on my left side which started off at size 17, 14, 12 & 11 (Does size matter lol) but only 3 on my left - they are smaller but the doc said that they will have plenty more time to grow by EC and that i am 'on target' for the EC which is planned for Tuesday. My next scan is on Sunday morning so i will be able to tell you for deff if i go for EC on Tuesday.

The only problem i have with EC is

'IM PETRIFIED'

I dont like the thought of being sedated, mind u, i would rather be sedated than actually put to sleep. Ive had some bad experiances that have made me petrified of actually going to sleep. Im also petrified that its going to hurt at the time, and im scared of what will happen after - ive heard so much about this over stimulated ovarie syndrome thingie!!!!

I know, im a baby lol - im 38 and acting like an 8 yr old lol.

My DH is like that too.. When I get all worked up he has a good way of making me laugh.. Sometimes I get a little anoyed but I am too busy laughing I cant stay anoyed.. We are lucky they are so strong for us...

Try not to worry about the EC. I can say for me that I felt nothing. I was awake but I truly felt like I was in la la land.. For me I was so excited to be at that point and getting the embies out that I really just did not focus on my fears.. For me again though it did not hurt.. Your follies sound great.. Well done.. For the over stimulated thingie not everyone gets it and sometime women get variying levels.. I had 14 follies (only 1 embie) but even with the 14 I felt a little on the uncomforatable side but I did not get full blown overstimulation.. One thing to keep in mind is all these scans and blood work will help the doc to keep chaning (raising and lowering) your stim med to prevent overstimulation.. Try to keep up the PMA... :D :D

Angela
Listen to your doc and get as much rest as you can.. We will be here for you when you are back on your feet.. Just take care of you right now and get ready for all the excitement to start..

love and hugs to all
Jackie

Sorry to be a party pooper - but what do all the Shortening of words mean - im at a total loss - the only one i can work out is

DH - Dear/Darling Husband
(I hope it is that, and not summit else lol)
EC - Egg Collection i figured that one out too lol.

As for AF and BC and all these other things i dont know what u mean - i dont mean to sound ignorant, but can u help me out, it would help me to understand much easier :)

Thanks

Becky
I remember what it was like to be new to this site, so here's the abbreviations that i can remember : AF=Aunt Flo(period), FET=Frozen Egg Transfer, DH=Dear husband(or whatever you chhose to call him, i could think of a couple that begin with DH!! hahaha), MIL=Mother In Law, and then there is the basic ones like lol=laugh out loud and rofl=rolling on floor laughing, which you probably know. No doubt i have missed other abbreviations out, There use to be a thread on the main page called abreviations they might have even more there..

here are more
ET- embie transfer
ER- embie retreival
EC- embie collection (to me the same as ER)

Hope this helps

KF

I have another embarrasing question! I had forgotten to ask the doctor earlier, and i dont want to ring the clinic to ask it - so i will ask the profesional girls here

If im going for EC on Tuesday - how long will it be before they put them back (thats not the embarrasing question lol)

As the eggs have to be fertalized with my DH's u know what lol, when are we meant to stop 'doing it' (not that we are like rabbits at the moment u understand lol) I think he is (we are) meant to refrain from 'it' up to 3 days before he has to do 'his bit in the dish' (how come the men always get the easy bits - sucks being a woman eh? lol), but i think its not for longer than 5 dyas? Is this right?
Is it 5 days or more - i cant remember - and that is ONE question that i will not ring the clinic to ask LOL - at least here i dont have to see the look on ur faces  hehehehe

Usually they do 3 or 5day transfer. I guess it depends on the clinic and the quality of embrios.
As far as no sex thing. My clinic said we should resfrain from sex for no more than 5days and min. for 2. So, we are planing to do 3,5 day no sex.

Jeck we have a couple of girls doing the AF jig here so hopefully all this jigging will bring her on :D For me I have stopped jigging. I figure I will just wait for the doc to bring her on in early September and than do IVF hopefully 09/21 or so :D I will keep jigging for you ladies..

Becky
The days till they put them back is up to your doc. Some docs do a 2 day transfer some a 3 and others do a 5 day. Here is how my cycle went. They told me to take my trigger on a Monday night they had me go in very early on Wednesday for the collection (they also told us to not do any baby dancing from Monday on) they took the embies on that wednedsay and after DH had fun in the cup they put the two together. Than on Friday morning they had me come in to get my embie back (so mine was a 3 day transfer) If you are set for the collection on Tuesday I wouild assume they would have you take a trigger shot on Monday night.. Now this is all just my theory. I could be wrong. When is your next appointment with the doc? Trust me I felt the same and I was embarresed if I asked them questions but remember that they are the informed docs and nurses not us so we should ask whatever we want.. We can try to answer them for you too..

love and hugs to all

@ Welshgirl38: I'm surprised they didn't give you all the info yet. I got tons of paperwork to read and fill out and I haven't started stims yet.
Don't be shy to bug them with your questions. The procedure is not that cheap! Plus they shouldn't expect you to know everything. Next time before you call them make a list with all the questions you want to ask so you don't forget anything. That's what I do. I used to always forget something important to ask.
