hello everyone!

Hey Jeck, I hope you feel better soon. What a crapy time to get sick, huh?

I was wondering if anyone drinks decaf coffee? I know caffiene is bad when TTC and pregnancy, but what about decaf? DH doesn't think I should drink decaf, but I say it's OK. I drink coffee more for the taste anyway, I've been on decaf for over a year now.

OO Mia hun did they call you yet to say how your little ones are doing?... as for the coffee i gave it up over a year ago it was almost as hard as quitting smoking i loved my coffee (mm starbucks triple shot gal here) i drink tea that has caffine in it and to be honest all of my family are tea bellys im in the minor leagues and they all have many healthy children so i wouldnt worry about a small amount of caffine.

Vickie your so sweet , i think we are all so excited for you.. as for being clever aww but im really not i get those from http://www.cheesebuerger.de its so simple to use debbie proof

Re: coffee
When I stopped drinking coffee (it was hard since everybody at work drinks it), I started craving for chocolate more. A couple of minutes ago I inhaled a piece of brownie. Is it normal? I forgot to ask the nurse about chocolate. BTW, she told my DH to drink only 1 cup a day, no more.
And no green/herbal tea because there is not enough data on how it affects the meds.

Oh
We wasnt told no different about coffee or Tea  I only get thru about 3/4 cups a day anyhow - i dont smoke (gave that up 4 yrs ago - nearly killed me - not the smoking, the giving up  )
I asked about alcohol (i think thats the only question i remembered to ask  ) and was told that it is ok in moderation - some people say none what so ever - but look at all the women who drink coffee/alcohol do all the things they are not really supposto - when they dont even know they are pg

Once the wee embies go back - strictly no alcohol for obvious reasons - but i didnt think that coffee mattered :!:

I think its harder for us ladies, we want to wrap ourselves up in cotton wool, to make sure everything goes to plan and that we did/do everything we can to make sure our wee ones have the bestest start in life, which, dont get me wrong - is good - but i do also think that wrapping ourselves up too much maybe putting our stress levels up a wee bit higher than normal. Easier said than done tho i beleive!

Just my opinion, who am i to advise lol

Still trying hard to catch up with you all! Will keep reading.

Jeck-sorry your feeling poorly hope it passes soon.

Vickie- number of follies is great.Good luck for Tues. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Mia- I drank decaf tea with first IVF and that was fine. Altho I allowed myself one normal tea a day! Agree with Becky tho that we do analyse every little thing as we don't want to jepardise our chances. Those who fall pregnant with no problems probably don't even let it cross their minds.

As for me I too am still waiting for AF. Must be something in the air.Where is she!! Had all the paper work through the post and because of AF can't start the cycle until 29th Sept. Not sure if I should be here really as my treatment won't start until Oct, but I'll stay for now if thats ok. It's excting that so much is going on.

Welshgirl38, I know what you are saying. Here we are trying to get pregnant, avoiding alcohol, coffee, etc. and some people smoke pot everyday, get pregnant easily and deliver normal babies. Where is the logic?

Angela
I think I missed your post from earlier.. How did the second shot go? I noticed sometimes with the different shots sometimes if I pulled the needles out on an angle I could end up with a bruise too.. Thats what I get for being in too much of a hurry :D

Mia honey what was the ferlization report? Did they call you :D

Vickie you are getting very close.. Almost all done with the injections :D for the HCG the nurse should give the specific time to take it.. I took all my meds at night and they actually told me to take my HCG at night. I think they like to have a better handle on that shot becuase that will cause the release of the eggies :D

Becky on the coffee front my doc said it was ok up until the ET however Zita West (a well known fertility doc) said its best to stay away during the stimulation.. I think its like anything that you can get a ton of different answers.. Like Aunty said lots and lots of women go on to have very healthy babies even with drinking lots of coffee...

For me I smoked (yes I know it was very bad of me  ) until the day of my last ER. I quit that day and even after the loss I never went back. Yesterday was 3 months that I have quit. I did have the odd glass of wine during stims and during the 2ww I had one glass of red wine. It was my birthday and I thought it would be ok.. I am really really hoping the quitting smoking will help the quality (and quantity of my eggies) I read a study once that smoking effects your eggs by adding 10 years to them.. I am 32 so that meant I had 42 year old eggs.. So That is what has kept me quitting..

Love and hugs to all of you busy busy ladies

I'm really upset
My bw showed estrogen level 74. It should be below 50. I'm going for another u/s and bw on Monday. They didn't want to increase the meds tho. I'm on 5 units of Lupron. I don't want to be cancelled!

Jackie:

I think i was one of those women who did everything she shouldnt have when i had my first 2 children  (they are 18 and 16 now) i tried for them both, and caught no problem :D - i smoked throughout the both pregnancies   (yes - i know - its terrible) i was one of those women that we love to hate these days.

I caught no problem, just worked out my ovulation dates, stuck to them on my first baby, then on my second - hey presto i had no problem.

Makes me feel gulity now  - here i am struggling to conceive - along with all u lovely ladies, all be it my own fault as i was steralized when i was 24! Im now divorced from the childrens dad - he doesnt see them at all, hasnt bothered with them since we have been divorced.

I have since met a lovely man (my 2nd hubby) who has no chlidren of his own  Whom has taken on my 2 as his own :) but i want to give him the pleasure of holding his own child. We have no male problems and no female problems (appart from the steralization and mild Endo)

Im glad Jackie that u didnt go back to smoking :D good girl - its bad for you as well as the baby, im so glad i stuck to that - and im sure a glass of red wine on ur birthday wud be no problem either - so dont worry about that!

I hope i havent offended anybody by this post, i know there are some women out there who will want to slap my face for the way i handled my last 2 pregnancies - i want to slap mine too! lol.

Hope all is well .... hugzzzzz to everyone

I am sorry I know this is scary.. From what I have seen lots of times (my cycle included) they let me coast on the current med dosage and than they increased it later. I think this happens quite a bit. I know it still very scary.. We are here with you..
love and hugs

Oh Becky
You would not offend anyone.. All of us just wish it was easier but I can honestly say that none of us wants it to be harder for other ladies.. I still find joy when someone gets a natural BFP :D .. For your other two pregnancies you were young and its not as if you did not care about them its just you did not know any better....You still want your sweet DH to have another that is also part him. I think that is so beautiful of you (to want that for him) Anyway my mom smoked all though her pregnancy with me and I turned out ok.. Well at least physically I turned out ok mentally is another story  Please dont ever feel guilty for being steralized and now wanting another baby.. Just think if you did not want for this baby and come here we would not have met you and that would have just been wrong...Your DH sounds like a wonderful man you are very lucky... :D
