thank you for your regards. hubby and i were able to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time yesterday. what a relief!
however, the ultrasound tech was concerned about the source of the spotting. so she went and talked to the ob and even though i didn't have an appt with the ob yesterday, they squeezed me into her busy schedule.
she took one look in there and determined that the bleeding was from a cervical polyp, well, actually, there are 3 of them in there. the polyps were first discovered at the embryo transfer, but the clinic decided to go on w/ the transfer regardless becuase polyps don't usually cause any harm. well, since then, one of them has grown. the ob isn't too concerned except that now she referred us to go for genetic screening at 12 weeks. only to be on the safe side and to find out w/ another detailed u/s where exactly does the poly originated from. i just hope that it isn't too close to the opening of the cervix. arghh...
do you know if genetic screening is a standard procedure?
anyway, thanks for listening.

thanks,
jt
