Jackie (nimble) dont even think twice about it.. We all post so often that sometimes I have to go back and see what I missed while I was posting..
Just so you all know I am not leaving as Aunty knows I am the stalker and you are all stuck with me. I am going away until next Tuesday though so I will be hoping and praying for all of you and doing all the follow up when I get back home..
love and hugs to all

Ok ladies...here is the latest and please give me your HONEST opinions. I am three days post collection and I am waiting to do a five day transfer because we are doing pgd on the embies.

Their grading scale is from 0-4, 0 is the worst. 4 is the best.
They hope to find at least 7 cells by now.

1 was four celled and low low grade
1 was six celled and grade 3
1 was seven cell grade 2
3 were eight cell grade 3
3 were eight cell (grade 2 and grade 1)
2 were nine cell grade 3
1 was 11 cell grade 3

ALL had some fragmentation...some more than others. The embryologist said she feels we have six that look good. We have to wait til tomorrow evening to get the PGD results back.

I am feeling upset. Why are they ALL somewhat fragmented??? I am a 31 year old healthy female. She said this is common...but for all!?

What do you guys think? I just don't know what to make of all this?

Ok Zirly you asked for honest.... i love love love the fact you have some fraggies thats not a bad thing i had 3 grade 1 and 1 grade 2 (my clinic grades 1-4 1 best 4 worst)3 8 cell with no fragmentation 1 6 cell had a little bit i have the piccie of them they look perfect...and i got nothing
my friend had 3 embies (same clinic) 2 4 cell of hers were grade 3 and 1 2 cell was 3.5 all with lots of fragmentation and she got twins.... every time i hear of someone writes i had low grade embies with lots of fragmentation they end up with BFP

i will be amazed if you dont find she says the fraggies pass the pdg with flying colours ...your little ones are doing so well im cheering them on...praying really hard for you you get great results tomorrow.

lots of love Debz

Zirly, here are some facts/stats as I know them

1. fragmented embryos may not have the same chance at implanting as non-fragmented, but if they produce babies just as perfect as any other embryo

2. According to 2002 ART from the CDC, woman under 35 who had enough embryos to implant with additional ones to freeze (and with 6, you probably fall into that camp) had the following live-birth rates:

Transfer 1: 47%!!!!!!!!!!
Transfer 2: 51%
Transfert 3 or more: live birth was less than 51%

Also, PGD ups the numbers because you know you avoid transferring many chromosomally abnormal embryos which wouldn't have implanted. I will also be doing PGD. I've been looking for stats, but it's still really rare to find large scale studies. One study I saw said that woman under 35 with normal fsh who had ivf+pgd and implant 2 embryos had a baby-take-home rate topping 70% from one cycle. Seems massively too good to be true ...

Anyway, I know these stats don't specifically address the fragmentation issue ... but hopefully it will make you feel good. Let us know what the PGD report looks like!
Me: 31 Single gal after 7 year relationship
For 7 years he said "not yet" to baby. So I finally left him.
Issue: early menopause (late 30's) for mom, aunt, etc. Hope it's not too late for me.
