Hi all - sorry I've been MIA, but have been trying to get back to some 'normalcy' in my life so I haven't been on the computer too much at home. It's great to get the updates, though, on how everyone's doing.
Alicia - My question on assisted hatching was posted in the general forum. I was just wondering what is known about it and if there's any risk if it damages the embryo. According to some who responded, there's no real risk, but no proven benefit either. It's not really expensive (well, when comparing to the overall cost!), and with my 'old eggs' I guess it might help in case the shell's too tough. We'll probaby do it again, since it's recommended by RE.
Hopeful - I'm glad your cycle review went well and good job on the PMA! I thought your post on your clinic's post-thaw survival rate was interesting. I never even thought to ask that - what a good question.
Wannababy - I was just like you after -ve: junk food galore (I've decided to stop using BFN - it puts too much emphasis on the negative, when I'm trying to be a little more positive, sigh....) Good luck on getting back to the healthy stuff!
As for us, we're still debating our next start date. AF should be here next week so we could technically start (the BCP cycle) by then. And the nurse has told us we'll use BCPs to work around DH's out-of-town work committments. But, there's part of us that feels like we need another month. I've gained a lot of weight from these two tries and I know having a health body weight is important. I'd like to get a little bit more in shape and perhaps also give acupuncture a bit more time to 'work'? On the other hand, it always feels like time keeps ticking away and we're behind already. Well, we only have one more week, so I guess we better make a decision!
Hope you all are doing well!
Best,
- Suzhan
