Lola - I am really excited for all of us this round. I feel inside my heart this will be a successful cycle for all. Image

Suzhan - A few weeks is great, I'm just glad we get to go through it that close. What was your assisted hatching questions, I would be interested since my RE did assisted hatching my last cycle.

Mia - Let me know how you like the CD, it sounds like a great idea. I definately agree that this process can be very stressful and finding ways to relax and not worry is difficult. I hope your appointment goes well.

Wannababy - October 10th will be here before you know it. Trying to stay positive as well.

Champa - Congrats on your singleton, you are truly blessed. Image

Myhb - Just wondering how your doing?

Rose - Hope everything is okay and your just out celebrating.

Love you all Image

Hi everyone! I'm doing much better today. My little pup is doing a lot better now. She had a bad allergic reaction and her eyes and face puffed up so bad, she looked like she was in a boxing match. She was itchy and had to wear a cone for like 2 weeks so she wouldn't scratch her eyes out. She was at the Vet twice and they gave her cortisone shots and suggest allergy testing. I said to myself there's got to be a better way. I did some research and got all herbal and homeopathic meds. It's working! Proof that natural remedies work. :D Right now she is curled up in my lap without the cone on.

My cycle review went pretty good. I still don't have any solid answers though. RE says everything was perfect until after the transfer and implant failed to happen. He thinks that the endometruim and embryos we're just not in sync. My linning may have been slightly ahead of the embryos. It happens sometimes when you do the stimmulation meds, it causes the linning to advance a bit to much. But he said my blood levels indicated that everything was perfect. I had a good response to the meds. He could see I took all my meds just as I should and he says there is really nothing I could have done better. He thinks we have a much better chance with FET. They can make my linning just right before transfer. He says they will transfer all 3 of our frosties, provided they survive the thaw. He says even when the embryos look perfect they may not always perfect. If the FET fails then they will know that it was likely something with the embryos. DH asked what are the chances of triplets. RE said it only happened once in his clinic, last year. Her fresh cycle failed and for FET she really wanted all 3 tansfered. He advised her not to, but she wanted to risk it. He says she gave birth to all 3 and they are all doing well. He doesn't think I would be at that much risk though so we'll put in all three. :) I am sooooo looking forward to it. We really hope we can make our positive anouncement as a special holiday gift for everyone. We plan to not give everyone details this time around. Just loosely tell family "yes, we'll try again, but not sure when". 8)

Hope you all are having a great Tuesday!

Champa - Congratulations on another successful blood test result. I think it is so cool that based on your levels they know that it is a singleton and that he/she is healthy - yay!

Alicia - Oct 1st is not that far away. I hope your appt next week goes well. Hopefully you and your DH are enjoying this time together until the next round starts.

Lola - How much has the second round changed for you compared to the first one? I am curious since your first cycle had been cancelled mid way through. Any idea as to when AF may arrive?

Suzhan - I hope everything works out for you with this cycle so that you can have it done within this year. Good luck with timing your DH's business travel around the ER/ET. I am sure it will all work out for you.

Mia - I can't believe you were going through all of that during your cycle. That is a lot on its own. Spend the time until your next cycle de-stressing and rejuvenating yourself. It will make a big difference. I feel badly for your puppy having to wear a cone - poor thing.

Wannababy - Glad to see that you have been keeping yourself occupied. Oct 10th will be here soon enough.

Rittie and Sam - Hope you both are feeling alright.

Ladies - I had an ultrasound and blood work today. It looks as if the increased dosage of the stims is working because my estrogen levels were higher (based on the blood work on Monday). The doctor was able to see 7 follicles around 12-13 and 5 follicles around 10 (I forgot the measurement units). I go back for another ultrasound/blood test on Friday. If everything is ok, the doctor is estimating the ER to be either Monday or Tuesday of next week. It still hasn't hit me that our ER is next week. I think it'll really hit me when it gets scheduled.

Have a good evening.

Myhb, Good luck with the final follicle track, fingers crossed they will be ready for ER. I only had a total of 7 eggies retrieved but I guess its the quality that counts so don't worry about how many now you know you've GOT follicles. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you everyone who'd asked about me. I am doing well. Besides a little nausea sometimes in the afternoon I don't feel any pregnancy symptoms still. (I reckon the sore breasts are from progesterone). I do feel there is something in my lower belly but thats it. I count myself quite lucky really because I didn't like it the occassions when I felt nauseus.

Sam, how are you doing dear?

We're off on holiday to Italy for 3 weeks from Sat. Hope everything will be ok, if not, I've got myself a European health card so that I can go to the hospitals there. Also, its a 2 hour flight so I thought if worst comes we will buy single tickets and fly home early if they refuse to change the booking. But hopefully, it won't come to that and by the time I'm back I'll be ready for the week 12-14 scan. Wish me luck girls, funny how one would never spend time thinking about what to do in case of medical emergencies overseas when one wasn't preggers :-)

Lots of love everyone
Rittie

Thanks Rittie for the well wishes. Glad to see you haven't been having very strong morning sickness. Have a great time in Italy. We went to Rome for our honeymoon and loved it! Where in Italy are you going? If we ever go back, I'd like to go to Florence and Venice. I wish you the best time and I hope you don't have to cut your trip short.

I can't believe some of you are starting your second cycle already. Boy time flies. GOod luck and remember I am patiently waiting for all of you to get your BFP.

I am doing better. I was quite sick and then a cold to top that off. I also have a tiredness that I have never expereinced before. It is the most surreal thing in the world. I literally walk down my stairs and if I forgot something I can't go back up. I am winded and exhausted all the time. I sleep sooo much. I am usually a very high energy person to this is a hard adjustment.

My doctor is reducing my meds which is also helping a lot. My nausia and dizziness have finally reduced these couple of days. I am not complaining as I feel greatful every second but boy pregnancy is hard. I thought it would be easy compared to IVF but pregnancy mixed in with IVF is no walk in the park. I am just waiting for that second trimester where everyone says you feel normal again!

I am keeping all fingers crossed for all of you who are still testing!

Love,

Sam

Sam- are you still on progesterone? If so for how much longer? Have you told your coworkers yet?

Rittie--have a good time in Italy.

Myhb-ER is the best part. I'm glad your bw and u/s have been promising!

Hopeful- We're taking the same approach--we are trying again, not sure when! How did your cycle review make you feel? I hope your embies survive the thaw.

Lola, Hopeful and Suzhan--I'm glad we will be cycle buds again.

Shapooh-- I agree with you, I think this time will work for all of us!

Champa- How have you been feeling. I hope you aren't too pukey!

Alright ladies, I have fallen off the wagon and working on getting back on it. I have been a junk food junkie ever since my BFN! I thought it was because I hadn't had any good junk ever since May. My acupuncturist said my craving could either be hormonal (from all the injections) or stress. I just hope I'm not going there for comfort reasons. She has encouraged me to start preparing for the next go round by watching what I am putting into my body. Now that I am mentally prepared for start over, I need to work on being prepared internally.

I must admit that although I am not ready for all the doctor's visits again , I am looking forward to starting over. I'm feeling pretty positive!

Take care ladies!

Sam, I'm sorry you're feeling tired and ill. How I would do anything to be in your shoes though. I say bring it on, puke and all! Time is flying by, you'll be in your 2nd tri in no time. Hang in there!

Wannababy, I feel very optimistic since my review. It seems that it was a timing thing that no one would have had any control over. it can happen in a fresh cycle because of the stims. My RE says that if we we're to do another IVF cycle with him, he would probably freeze the embies and transfer them as an FET rather than do a fresh ET. He made me feel much more positive about the FET. I actually feel this will be better for me. My body won't be dealing with the effects of stims and I should be in a much healthier and peaceful state. My clinic has a very good thaw rate, 95 to 98% survive, so I feel optimistic about it. I'm praying that all 3 survive. DH was upset though, he asked the RE before our IVF cycle if FET if better for most why not just do FET instead. I guess that's just not the way it's done.

Hi all - sorry I've been MIA, but have been trying to get back to some 'normalcy' in my life so I haven't been on the computer too much at home. It's great to get the updates, though, on how everyone's doing.

Alicia - My question on assisted hatching was posted in the general forum. I was just wondering what is known about it and if there's any risk if it damages the embryo. According to some who responded, there's no real risk, but no proven benefit either. It's not really expensive (well, when comparing to the overall cost!), and with my 'old eggs' I guess it might help in case the shell's too tough. We'll probaby do it again, since it's recommended by RE.

Hopeful - I'm glad your cycle review went well and good job on the PMA! I thought your post on your clinic's post-thaw survival rate was interesting. I never even thought to ask that - what a good question.

Wannababy - I was just like you after -ve: junk food galore (I've decided to stop using BFN - it puts too much emphasis on the negative, when I'm trying to be a little more positive, sigh....) Good luck on getting back to the healthy stuff!

As for us, we're still debating our next start date. AF should be here next week so we could technically start (the BCP cycle) by then. And the nurse has told us we'll use BCPs to work around DH's out-of-town work committments. But, there's part of us that feels like we need another month. I've gained a lot of weight from these two tries and I know having a health body weight is important. I'd like to get a little bit more in shape and perhaps also give acupuncture a bit more time to 'work'? On the other hand, it always feels like time keeps ticking away and we're behind already. Well, we only have one more week, so I guess we better make a decision!

Hope you all are doing well!

Best,

- Suzhan

Suzhan - Thanks for the information on assisted hatching. Because of my age we will have it performed again. I agree with you on the age of our eggs and it being helpful. Good luck with your decision no matter what it is, even though it would be great to cycle with you.

Hi Ladies - It looks like I am ready to go. They scheduled my ER for Monday. For some reason, I kept thinking it wouldn't happen for a while (probably because I had a slow start on the stims) and now here we are ready to do a trigger tonight. I am both a liitle nervous and excited.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Good luck with your ER. Is this your first IVF? Don't be nervous, it's easy as pie. Just be sure to take it easy for 24 hours after surgery. It's exciting because you finally get to know how many eggs you produced and soon after that, how many fertilize. :)
