Daughter going through IVF, how can I help

Post by mema »

Hi,
Iam new to ALL of this, my daughter is going through IVF, second round, first one cancelled. She is so distraught, as a mother Iam going through such pain to see MY baby hurting so badly. I am trying to stay postive for her , I find myself going through this roller coaster with her and son in law. Ive been reading alot of ALL you girls threads ( as I believe there called) and you ALL are so brave, I give you ALL my blessings, if anyone can give me adive on the right things to comfort my daughter I would greatly appreciate it.

Mother of daughter going through IVF

Post by connor »

Hi there, my mom is back in South Africa and I know that when I went through my first cylce of IVF the best thing she did for me was listen and offer me support, even though she was so far away. I am thinking about doing my second IVF using our frozen embryos, and I know that she will again be there to listen to me even though she is so far away. PS lots of hugs too.

Your daughter is so lucky to have such a supportive mother! The very best thing my mom has done for me is just let me vent. Sometimes she even gets angry with me and to know that know matter what I am feeling and how I chose to express it that day, my mom is right there with me is awesome. In the past my mom has surprised me by meeting me at the clinic for various tests and it great knowing that while I am having proceedures done that my mom is with my husband. Please wish your daughter luck and let her know that if she would like more support to try this website. The girls on her are awesome!!

Hi mema... :D

I got my BFN 2 days ago. When i told my mom about the news, i also told for my 2nd cycle i want her to be with me on 2WW. (I did IVF aboard so will the next cycle). 2WW is hard. So many negative think came. I thought it would be easier if my mom came n be on my 2 WW. She said okay directly without thinking :D :D

Good luck. You daughter very blessed to have a great mom like you. God bless you n family

Luv, Jemma

Jemma,

Iam so glad that your mom can be with you for your next cycle, I believe its so important to have as much support as possible at a time like this.
My daughter and I are very close, and I couldnt dream of her going through this without myself and her family. Jemma Iam so sorry about your BFN, I will put you on my prayer list. And I have to admit I love the promise you use and the end of your thread Luke 11 9:10
Take care and thank you for your response. Mema

hi Mema,

Your daughter is very lucky to have you near. My mother is a thousand miles away (literaly in another continent). I am very close to her and through all my problems in life I had my mom protecting me. I just can't bring mysef to tell her, I don't want to worry her. She already knows that I'm not ok (a mother can always tell) but I tell her it's the fact that I currently moved to another country. She even called me on the day of my ER during a time and day that she never calls. I think a mother always knows when her child is not ok. Just be there for your daughter and believe me that is a lot.
