Hello girlies,

Justine - All is good. As for the cold, don't get me wrong - it is lingering rather than coming to anything... not sure what's worse though. Resistance must be quite good though! Glad the 32 week check went fine and it's great the babe is in the right position. Exciting - getting ready :D :D :D As for Christmas - like, you we've no real plans. Either way, we'll be knackered - at the end of pregnancy or with a new baby. Just praying the baby comes before Christmas Day - I couldn't face not being with Sam on Christmas morning :( Santa's certainly bring me what I asked for last year thats for sure  Anyway, just hoping it'll be quiet either way..

Hayley - hope you're lathering the cream on girl! Shame anaemia has kicked in, but at least you know now and I hope your feel better with the tablets. Low down kicks?! Sometimes these babes should not kick places they do (if you know what I mean  )!It's certainly pain and not pleasure. LOL Don't worry, and stop giving yourself a hard time about moaning - call it venting!!!

Kareen my love - how you doing? (obviously not sleeping :( ) I'm yawning that much that even Sam is asking me in his jumbled manner if Im tired!! As for how he's feeling - hmmmmmmmmmmmm - boy is he in for a shock. He knows a baby is in my belly, although I'm sure has no idea what it really means! and has now stopped saying baby brother but calling him Ollie  Soooooooooo cute, but we have't finally decided yet on the name. LOL. And in terms of pain relief... honestly, I'm now crapping myself in general. Will go for gas and air first, but they can hit me with everything if it gets bad. Anything that causes less stress to me and the baby. I'd prefer just gas and air, but am definately not going to be a martyr!!! What about you??? Come and join the other thread I started too...............................................

Well girls, the BH's are all the time it seems when I move - at least I hope that's what they are :-o... Haven't got my midwide until next Wednesday, but I'm going to ask thn as they're driving me nuts. Going to start the raspberry leaf tea this weekend!!!

Oh, and I've decided to get all my hair cut off on Tuesday.... How much am i going to regret that? LOL

Hope everyone is fine

Hello Mommies

I hope you are all doing great. Zoe I hope to get to 36 weeks, that's my plan. Emma and Jodie came at 35 weeks so 36 weeks would be great. The hospital said the other day if I continue to be so ill they will do the section at 38 weeks and not 39 and I just laughed. Yeah ok, whatever! lol

The one thing I really wanted during all my labours was an enema. There was no way I was going to be pushing through my back passage without one!

I'm sorry your MIL's aren't going to be around but something always happens. Things will fall into place and it will be stress free - I'm hoping.

What length is your hair now? I was going to get my cut off but I can't now my face is like a basketball! I've gone for dying it instead. Also it's easy to just stick it in a ponytail once the baby is here.

Water births sound great. I've always wanted one but I can't because of the diabetes, if I had a hypo in the water they would have to call the fire brigade in to lift me out!

Hayley I don't envy you with the iron tablets, the start of black poo! lol hope they make you feel better soon. Ellie only ever kicks me down low, haven't had any higher ones yet. Midwife said today she is probably breach.

It's not my belly that's itchy, it's my legs, they are driving me mad!

Kareen I couldn't not come on and wish you all the best for tomorrow. I know you are having your GTT but are you having your scan then too? I hope you do and you get to see the sex of your little ones - that's if you still want to.

Vita, I'm sorry to hear about your gestational diabetes but it was probably to be expected carrying three in there. Have they put you on insulin or just diet? I'm now up to 378 units a day. Will have beaten the hospital record by next week!

Stock up on your book collection, magazines, puzzle books etc. Do you have a portable DVD player you could take into hospital with you? Will be thinking of you.

Tammy just go with what you body tells you. With Hannah I had gas and air which made me really sick and pethadine which is lovely. I had Alice in Portugal and they don't offer any drugs at all or anyone to be with you when you give birth so that was a natural birth - not through my choice though. Emma I just had gas and air and with Jodie it was a spinal because of the section. Don't be afraid of anything. If you do finally have an epidural then you will wonder what took you so long! Walking and marching during labour is great, helps you dilate quicker.

Justine you are having a tough time, it's one thing after the other. Hopefully you've got rid of everything now and you will be in the best of health when your little boy arrives. Glad your 32 week appointment went well.

I've got my wash bag ready for hospital and everything else is just at grab level. I do about 4 loads of washing a day so I never have anything dirty for more than a few hours. I couldn't trust Paul to buy anything for me for hospital. I just couldn't even think about what he would turn up with!

I'm still struggling. Not been on much as I'm on such a downer and don't like moaning, it's not me, I'm usually the happy person! I've put on another 6lbs this week. That's 54lb now. The hospital keep saying I can lose it afterwards and it's because of the steroids and insulin. I don't care that I can lose it afterwards and what's causing it. That doesn't help me now. I'm so puffy and swollen. I've asked Paul to take down all the mirrors in the house as I feel deformed. I went to get measured for a bra yesterday. I was a 40DD before, I'm now a 48DD and M&S don't go up that big!

I was overweight before the pregnancy (I was a size 14) but all this weight is horrible. Even my calves have gone up an inch in two weeks! I can't breathe very well and am virtually house bound. When I went out to get my bra I was going to have a little rumage around the shops for some stocking fillers. I went in M&S, came out had to sit down for half an hour then waddled back to the car! I hate moaning. I really want to enjoy the pregnancy as I love being pregnant, it's these horrible steroids!

I had the midwife today. My blood pressure has gone up to 148/93 so needs to be kept an eye on. No surprise really being so obese. I told the hospital I'm at risk of getting diabetes being this fat! lol I went to put some mascara on the other day to cheer me up. I kept getting it on my cheeks where my cheeks are so puffy they were in the way of the mascara wand!

I do read up on you every day just don't want to bring you all down with me! Kareen I know I've already said it but best of luck tomorrow and hope you get to see your little ones.

Take care the rest of you, sorry if I've missed anyone.

Think of you lots

Jo

Jo, my friend,

It was good to hear from you. Sorry to see you're still feeling down though - it's no wonder with everything you're dealing with. STOP being so hard on yourself my love. You are not obese and don't sound as if you were overweight anyway before - a size 14 is not overweight. I was a 16 before pregnancy - probably bigger than I should have been for someone who's 5 foot 6... If it makes you feel any better, I was a 36F/G before all this and I'm bigger now   And I've no excuse. My only hope is that if I breastfeed, the wee man will drink his fill and flatten 'em!!! Mind you, Sam didn't (as much as I told him to...) LOL

I'm like you, 36 weeks sounds good to me. You're doing great, so just keep your chin up. Once you have the babe, I bet you find the weight'll drop off - so be blaming the drugs and not yourself.

As for hair - well it's doen past my shoulders at the moment and I struggled to get it that long - so goodness knows why I intend cutting it. I've a 'rounded (!)' face so I think it'll have to be something that still covers my chins from the side!!!!!!!! LOL I'm not for dying my hair when pregnant, much to my hairdresser's disgust as I'm sure she's losing a lot of money - my roots are about at my ears at the moment - with IVF I always did the 'touching up' just before treatment. But as this was a shock, I was due to get it done :( My kids at school were like 'Miss, your hair...' Thanks guys... So, my only alternative is to cut - I sooooooooo need a change, but you can bet your boots I'll be on here moaning on Wednesday and then spend the next year growing it gain...LOL

BTW, don't worry about breech if she is - Sam was like that at every check up - he turned I think the day or so before he came at 33 weeks...they have a knack of doing that so you'll be ok.

You take care

Good morning Ladies:

We had a very nice holiday weekend. I believe that I am almost done with my Christmas shopping!!!!!! We had such nice weather Friday and Saturday, that I wanted to get out and finish it. I don't want to have to get out in the snow and ice later on and risk falling down.
DH finally felt Andrew kick!! He has been very active lately.

Vita: I'm so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with diabetes. Take it easy and the time will be here before you know it. You may have your lovely babies before the new year! That would be wonderful.

Justine: We are going to my parents for Christmas also. That is our tradition. They only live 1 hour drive from us. You could have your little guy by Christmas. That is so exciting!! I need to decorate for Christmas. I made a stocking for our baby last year, as I was hoping that I would be pregnant. We found out that our 1st IVF failed just after Christmas. This year, the "baby" stocking will be for Andrew!!

Hayley: I have been getting breathless too. I notice it more when I am carrying my bookbag and am going up stairs. I hope the iron tablets work for you.

Kareen: I'm with you on that "natural birth" seems very scary! Hopefully, you will know the sex of your babies next time.

Zoe: A Christmas baby would be wonderful! My mother was born on Christmas eve. I am getting so big that I can't believe that I have 3 more months!

Jo: Don't worry about the weight gain. It sounds like a lot of yours is just water weight. My good friend Tracy gained 40 lbs (and she is short and small) and lost it all within 3 months after the baby was born. Thanks for the advice on the pain relief with labor. I can't help being nervous about it though. I really would like to have a spinal or epidural, but I don't want any complications.

Well, I'd better get off of here for now, as I have lessons to prepare for tomorrow.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi girls,

It's been very quiet on here... hope you are all well...

Tammy - well done for almost finishing your shopping - one less thing to think about! Glad you are growing nicely  No doubt time will pass quick though and before you know it, the bump will be gone and noise and sleepless nights will be here.... hurrah!

Justine - Glad you had a nice weekend. You keep an eye on those stomach cramps girl. If you feel things are not right, phone triage and put your foot down - that's what I plan to do - make a fuss if need be. Start timing the pains - maybe they are not as long as you think?? I did that last week when I had the BH constantly and what I thought was ages, was 25-30 seconds... Maybe the babe was just bouncing down a bit - I felt like that at 28-30 weeks when he went head down and 3/5 engaged - but he moved again...

Regardless though, keep an eye on it and keep phoning if you don't feel right - this calling in labour only is nonsense I think - get them to put your mind at rest my friend...

Kareen - what you up to....?

Hello Ladies,

How have you all been?

Justine, wow such little time left..oh my God im getting the jitter bugs for you. I wish i can make it to 34 weeks, at this rate i just hope to get close. But it seems like your baby will hang around for a few more weeks.
As long as you hydrate yourself and try to relax a bit. wishing you so much luck...

Tammy, How wonderful for your DH to feel Andrew. How amazing is that, my husband stood witht the camcorder in front of my belly last night hoping to record a movement, and ofcourse nothing happened. My boys were active for a bit before he decided to start recording. Im sure you husband must be thrilled as well as you. The feeling is one that can put a tear in my eye at any given moment. My mom says to constantly enjoy them as in the later years she says you will miss the feeling and wish to feel it one more time. Hope everything else is well with you.

Kareen!!!! how are you my sweets.... how are the babes doing? WOW the weight measurements on the babes is wonderful....thats so nice, i hope my lambs will get to three pounds soon... the doctors say as long as babies hit 3lbs and 32 weeks in general they have a good survival rate. SO i have my big fat fingers crossed for all of us.. Darling you are officially in the 3rd trimester...you must be getting excited...at what point does your doctor feel you will deliver? I miss you guys so much

Jo, sweety how are you? Im sure you are hanging in there... I hope things have let up for you a bit... Hows your little girl?? Kicking you really hard yet?? I really pray for you to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Hayley, Congrats on the 28 week scan..have you finished decorating the room for your girls yet???? I bet you have... I remember you had bought everything by the time your first trimester was over..how exciting.

Zoe, How are you doing??? Hope you are hanging in there... looks like many of us have the above the shoulder hair cut at the moment, sometimes i feel it wasnt the right move for me to chop it off either, considering my face is like the moon right now!

I was hospitalized last week for 5 days for contractions, i was given terbutaline to control them but my heart rate soared for hours and we realized i probably cant take that medicine anymore.. My heart rate was between 120-130/min for 2 days after the meds were given.. as you can imagine sleeping was not easy when you see your heart pounding out of your chest. I got hooked up to an IV and did nothing for days.. I really hope my scan on wednesday will show no change in my cervix, that is the only thing that will keep me out of the hospital, and ofcourse the babies pushing out. Its awful there because they dont even have wireless connection for me to go on to the internet. I could have borrowed my DH laptop just to keep myself from going insane. But anyway i have been home since saturday and enjoying my home even though im home alone all day long, its much better then being confined into the ward!

My husband plans on painting the babies rooms in 2 weeks when i actually go into the hospital for bedrest. that way i dont need to inhale all the fumes. Since we dont live in a big house right now, my babes will have to share a room for just over a year, as we will be done with building our home by then.. So for now we are just painting the extra bedroom we have to a light yellow color, to match the boys'and girl's bedding.. The crib colors are like a honey wood, and the beddings are bright colors, reds, blues, greens yellows, oranges. I think its going to be fun for him. My brother is going to do some stenciling(sp) the walls of the babies names..( i just need to make up my mind!!).

well my inspirations, i gotta get back onto the sofa.. Hope to hear good news from all of you... Best wishes, God Bless.

Vita

HI girls,

Hayley - WOW - what fantastic weights - you're doing well girl and feeding those babies well :o Bummer about the placenta, but at least you'll have a date and will be prepared for that time - no hanging about

Justine - Glad you are feeling a bit better. No wonder you're a bit nervous, but you are right, the baby will be fine. It's great you are almost 34 weeks - when Sam came at 33 + 3 he was only 2 and a half weeks in neonatal and only 2 days in an incubator - the rest was just until he grew a bit and learned to feed... anyway, you won't have to worry as you'll hang on a bit hopefully... Take care girlie.

Vita - It sounds like you had a bit of a nightmare last week. I take it the contractions have gone or at least calmed down?? I bet it was scary with the heartbeat thingy...I'm glad you are home though and hope the boredom is not driving you mad at all... What agood idea about painting the rooms when you are in hospital though - shame you won't be there to 'project manage'

Jo, my friend - hope you are well...

Kareen - where are you?????????????

To everyone else, take care...
